  1. Don’t guess I understand why. I can lock my front wheel anytime I want. Why would you want something different than that?
  2. Completely different setup. Gen one has a frame mounted faring instead of a fork mount.
  3. Time to clean the carburetors. You can pour whatever you want in it but the only way to do it right is removing and cleaning is the only way to do it right.
  4. Clutch is not bread properly. Start at the master cylinder. Be sure to place a rag under it. Pump leaver 3 times and hold. Loosen the 12mm banjo bolt at the end of the master cylinder. Watch for air and fluid, retighten the bolt, then release the lever. Repeat till no air comes out. Watch the fluid level. Then go to the slave cylinder behind the left rear cylinder a black rubber plug. Attach a clear hose to the bleeder top and use an 8mm wrench to loosen. Pump clutch lever 3 times and hold, loosen bleeder valve and watch for air bubbles in the hose. Repeat 5-6 times or until no air bubbles come out. Be sure to close bleeder valve between each cycle. Don’t let the master cylinder go dry, or you can start all over. Be sure not to get brake fluid on painted or plastic surfaces. Good luck.
  5. I forgot, you’re exactly right. I believe it’s 2008 and later.
  6. Dont forget Facebook Marketplace either. Just looked and there’s 7-8 sets close by me in Texas.
  7. Csnt imagine there isn’t a way to bypass it temporarily.

  9. Code word, EBay. Thank you very much.😂😂
  10. And remember, you can get Harley take-offs in new condition for $50 and they sound great.
  11. I had 2 gen ones that I put over 300k miles on without clutch problems, so I doubt the clutch will fail also. Not understanding “fluid” is that the fluid in the hydraulic system, or the fluid in the crankcase, or engine oil? engine oil yes I agree. Oil with friction modifiers will make your clutch slip, so be careful using car oil in your bike. Hydraulic fluid has absolutely no affect on clutch life.
  12. I forgot to ask, did that fix your original problem? I know a lot of guys are suggesting you install the Barnett clutch. And that’s fine, but that has absolutely nothing to do with what happened to your system. I’ve got 50k on my bike on original clutch. As long as it works, I’m not gonna fix it if it ain’t broke. When it fails, I’ll probably go with the Barnett myself.
  13. FANTASTIC!!! You da man!! Ok well get ready to do it again. The only way air can get into the system is through the master cylinder and or the slave cylinder. Need to start thinking about ordering the repair kits and getting ready to replace them. I know there is step by step instructions on here somewhere to replace the slave cylinder, not sure about the master cylinder. I bought my parts from eBay and they worked perfectly. Good luck.
  14. Ok, so I take it you know nothing about this. Use exactly what it says on the reservoir. DOT 4 I believe. Level the bike by putting a 2x4 or more under the side stand. The bleeder valve is 8mm, use a box end wrench, and is right behind the cylinder on the left side. Square rubber cap, remove it. You will need a bleeder hose, clear, that fits on the bleeder valve, run it into a container of some kind. Remove the reservoir cap, and remove the old fluid. Use your wife’s turkey baster, or paper towels work just fine. BE SURE TO COVER ANY PAINT OR PLASTIC YOU DONT WANT RUINED CAUSE BRAKE WILL RUIN IT. Refill with clean fluid. lay the cover on the reservoir, pump the clutch lever three times and hold it. Release bleeder valve and you will see fluid run through the clear tubing along with any air bubbles, close bleeder valve, THEN release clutch lever. Repeat till fluid is clear, or no bubbles are present. Be sure the fluid level doesn’t go dry in the reservoir, or you get to start all over. Good luck Bill
  15. Oil level too full causes oil in the plenum. With bike level, maybe someone to help, have oil fill in the center of the marks.
  16. Just guessing, but sounds like the clutch Is dragging slightly?? No adjustments, buy maybe air in the hydraulic clutch. try bleeding it and see what happens.
  17. Remember, clutch fluid doesn’t burn doing curves. One thing fir sure, if it did it once, it will do it again. Order a master cylinder and a slave cylinder kits and replace them when you get home.
  18. Fill up your 09 with gas, but before you do, put a can, or two, of Sea Foam in your gas tank and ride her about 50 miles, let it sit over night, then ride it again. You’ll be surprised.
  19. I can ride ride and play music for around 8 days before it starts repeating songs.
  20. When they changed from 1200cc to 1300cc. I don’t believe they ever fixed the 1200’s. I could be wrong. When I worked for Honda, when we updated an internal engine component, for instance the 1983 V65 Magna second gear, we would put a center punch indention after the S/N on the engine. The gear on the Magna was three center punch marks. I don’t know what Yamaha did.
  21. Or you could copy your disks to that chip in your phone, add one of these to your auxiliary input, then Bluetooth the connection and ride Sally ride. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F192337924269
  22. Oh good lord, I didn’t even pay attention to the dates. I was gonna say, I knew you bought one of the new Ventures. But I see now. Never mind me.. oh by the way, have you noticed what’s happening to the price of the TC?? They’d dropped $5 grand and seem to be plentiful around here. I’d love to have one, I’ve ridden them and love it. I only have 50k on my second gen so I’m probably gonna ride it another couple of years. Then maybe see if I can find a used TC. Bill
  23. If you’re not comfortable modifying the flasher relay, just wait till you get that headlight and see what kind of modifications you’re in for there.
  24. Crack the bleed valve on the slave cylinder, then push the rod back into the slave cylinder. Shouldn’t be any hydraulic fluid in the oil. If there is, it would be negligible. You will need to bleed the slave cylinder after it’s all installed right. But that shouldn’t be a problem.
  25. Hey Freebird, add these to out tech library.
