  1. Sorry guys, I like to ride 65mph. It’s comfortable, enjoyable, and relaxing. I’ve ridden at break neck speeds also, ran speeds of 80-100 coming home from Sturgis last year. It sucked, it wasn’t fun, but had an emergency and had to get home. It’s good to know that if needed, it will do whatever you need.
  2. Absolutely a ball busting seat. I got to the point I didn’t want to get off. The Butler mod helps a lot, but doesn’t cure it.
  3. I remove my rear wheel by removing the right saddle bag, then with the bike on the side stand, put a floor jack under the frame area behind the engine and jack it up balancing on the jack and stand. Pull the caliper then the axle. Pull tire to the right to disengage the drive spline, then work the tire out. May have to raise the jack a little higher. Then lower the jack till the work is done, then replace. Bikes without a center stand, I’ve been doing this for over 40 years.
  4. I’ve has both of mine redone. Ain’t stopping me. I ridding. 😀
  5. Even if you had a timing light and the timing was off, you still can’t adjust it.
  6. Yep lots of stamps too. But I feel sorry for the guy putting it in my mail box. LMAO 🤣
  7. Wow we’ve been in the 90’s several times this year. Tell you what, just send it to me, I’ll ride it, and give you a full report. After all, what are friends for?
  8. I rode it back in September. That day it was 101 degrees and I really didn’t have a problem with extra heat. Rode it about 30 miles in DFW traffic.

  10. Just wondering about something. My son has a Road Star 1600 and it appears they have the same fuel pump problems as the Venture. They just remove the pump and run the fuel line from the petcock to the carb and they run just fine. i personally have not witnessed this, but the tank is above the carb, so maybe? My question is if it works on those why not our Ventures?
  11. Not a bad price. https://www.facebook.com/groups/TXmotorcycles/permalink/1737139679669545/?sale_post_id=1737139679669545
  12. Here is what I got. Be sure to get a high and low that match.
  13. I went to Auto Zone and bought a set, high and low, automotive horn. Chrome tops exact fit, really loud. I think they were $12 each. They have loud and extra loud.. I got just the loud.
  14. Coffee, lots of coffee. I’ll bet if you had both batteries side by side, they would measure the same. just my 2 cents, please spend it wisely.
  15. Installed the SpeedDRD yesterday, works great. Speedometer now dead on, like it should’ve been in the first place.
  16. Rick does a fantastic job. Also a great guy.
  17. Yes sir, me too.
  18. Well the one I rode in Dallas, it was 101 degrees that day. I didn’t notice any heat at all. : ) congrats on on the new bike. In about 3 years I’ll be looking for one too.
  19. I’ve made 3 attempts at going to Glacier Nat Park, still haven’t made it. The first time, like you, never thought about the cold. Going through Yellowstone the park rangers there said they got 12 inches of snow that night. That was mid June. Second time July 4, sleet and freezing rain everywhere up there. The last time, last week of July I got food poisoning in Vernal Utah on the way up. Ever tried to ride a bike while “blowing at both ends”??? Maybe someday I’ll make it.
  20. I guess. I have no complaints at all about what's there. I can lock it up anytime I want.
