  1. We just got slammed with that wave of cold air that @saddlebum promised. But at least we were able to crack the zero°F mark even though the wind chill is still around -20°F. Might have to go out and see if I can get all of the machinery calibrated after @Yammer Dan messed with stuff, at least enough so that it is not all landing on poor ol @cowpuc. But then where to send it............:scratchchin: Well I made another trip to doc to get looked at, he said it is healing well and has raised my weight restriction to 50 lbs. But there is still a LOT of swelling that he did not like so I go back for another look see in 2 weeks. He said that the swelling is due to fluid buildup and if it is not going down in 2 weeks then he will have to harpoon me with a LONG needle to drain off the juice. That just don't sound like fun. The good news for some is that I can at least start to wear pants again, at least for a little while...........
  2. See what happens when you spend too much time with this bunch of misfits............
  3. Well maybe you are turned off till the next time you get a whiff of my special balls..................
  4. If you have a big enough gun the trees will move out of the way.
  5. You still have to get out to replenish the Ice Cream supplies.
  6. Either a bigger antenna and/or a better preamp.
  7. Based on your description the pump ran for 11 seconds. This tells me the float bowls were empty. You either have a fuel blockage or a bad pump.
  8. Awesome Tom. Now you can do all of those other things............ .............Like shovel snow........
  9. So when are visiting times at the hospital?
  10. It is not that they forgot how to make good batteries. The car designers keep wanting the same CCA but in a smaller lighter package. To get that requires compromises. in this case they have to make the plates thinner and out of a foam like lead to get the same surface area as the old ones had with thicker and more plates. Thinner plates will not last as strong and will fail sooner. All that the car designers care about is a smaller lighter battery that will get past the 36 month new car warranty. I just had to replace a 3 year old battery in my truck, it is a 2011 and this is its 3rd battery. But the battery is smaller and lighter with more CCA than the monster that was in my old truck and lasted 6-7 years. Everything in electronics is a compromise you want more CCA you have to give something else up, size, or weight, or longevity. Nowadays they are giving up longevity in exchange for CCA and size. For the bike I still like the good old flooded cell Yuasa. it has less CCA than an AGM, but those big thick plates last a long time. The bike was designed to work with the lower CCA of the Yuasa.
  11. I recently bought a new one for my 88 from Boats.net and it was not expensive. My old one was cosmetically good but the pivot was worn out.
  12. I am using XP Pro and Firefox and am not having this issue.
  13. Don't multi cylinder EFI bikes still need to be synced, unless they are running a common throttle body setup? The sync only gets all of the throttle plates to open at the same time so all cylinders are working equally has nothing to do with fuel air mixture. :confused24:
  14. :sign yeah that: I'm crazy for a bowl of my chili right now. The only football bowl game I watch is the one with Wisconsin Badgers in it, this year it will be the Cotton Bowl.
  15. While there is nothing that I am aware of that is in the form of a plug and play kit, it certainly can be done. There is the method that Bob mentioned above. OR There are several people making a manifold to put a single automotive carb on our engines, I do not see why you could not put a small automotive TBI on that same manifold. Either way you still need to come up with all of the sensors and computer to make it all work and may need to generate your own fuel maps. IF you were to go with something like the Micro Squirt system for the EFI, it also can handle the job of ignition to replace your ancient one you have on the bike now, it will even handle going to COP if you were so inclined. Dang it, I almost talked myself into doing this again....................
  16. Not a $850 stock in my book either. A stock of that price should not have blemishes that need to be filled. It is already been glass bedded to some other rifle so it will need a lot of work for a perfect fit. unless you get lucky.
  17. You may have run into individuals in the stores that did not know how to test a battery.
  18. Time to make a HoneyDo list for Taters......................
  19. As long as the are not to thick, Don't want to grind thru the case hardening.
  20. How could anyone get drunk on a Rum Ball or 3??? :whistling:
  21. @skydoc_17 used to have a shim kit and tool that he would loan out if you bought all the gaskets and other stuff for the job from him. You will have to contact him to see if he still does this. If you need an uncommon thickness, I can make the next bigger size a bit thinner. I acquired a surface grinder for my basement. I made a few custom sizes for mine to get it all just perfect. All of my valves are right on the high limit to give maximum time before they need to be done again. But that is just me.
  22. My Rum Balls generally show up at Dons MD and the WI MD. Other times are pot luck, but they seem to always follow me around.
  23. MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmm................... Rum Balls I never had a recipe for my Rum Balls, It is all mixed by eye and by feel, With a lot of QC to be sure it is just right.
  24. I had a Remington 7400 in 30-06 special ordered and delivered looking just like that one. The gun I mentioned back in post 4
  25. It looks like you got those rusty old hinges to close. Might be a bit wet but at least you will not be driving across 3 states and 2 countries in a blizzard. Our 40 has also now been upped to 48 and we will still have a white Christmas. I will be out in a t shirt and will be comfortable. See, I knew that you could not come up with anything to compete with a white Christmas. You loose, I'm staying here where it is much nicer. I defy you to find a post where I ever complained about snow, You will find many where I have stated that I'll take a blizzard over hot any day. I have seen nearly everyone down south complain about the heat. We will have to agree to disagree on this one because this is one discussion that you can not possibly win.
