  1. Or have an air pocket stuck in the cooling system somewhere.
  2. Just look in the password file that you keep .......
  3. Good luck with your trip. I'll just remain a member of the Marshmallow Butt club ......
  4. Where was that pic taken? That ain't winter. They need some snow sent to there immediately.
  5. Ummmmm......... I can think of nothing to say that will get past the mods...............
  6. Not older, just wiser.
  7. I still wish you made a shield for the best ventures made, the 1st gens. If you made a vented replacement I would buy one in a heartbeat. As it is I just have to keep sending my money to Slipstream every few years and cutting in my own vents.
  8. The high temps are not suposed to get up to freezing for the next 10 days. Great weather for making snow and getting it to stick .......
  9. WHAT????? Its all CowPucs fault, he said he wanted to be buried in white stuff. My aim just needs some work. I guess I'll have to keep practicin .........
  10. :sign yeah that: Since there is no vacuum on the #2 cylinder you need to resolve that first. The sync between #1 and #2 is most likely WAY off. You are probably running on just 3 cylinders. You should still be able to sync the carbs even if there is no spark to #2. Start at the beginning and figure out why you have no vacuum at #2.
  11. And Veterans day must be great for the "I'm in the service" scams.
  12. The rear brake line now goes to the port that the front brake line used to go to. This would be the port that you can still see with the MC mounted on the bike.
  13. Well they each left with a full stomach.........
  14. I guess it was more just a curiosity of what percent of this countries bandwidth is eaten up by bots in their various forms. I like spiders, they eat skeeters, anything that eats skeeters and does not also try to eat me is my friend, no matter how ugly it is. I mean just look at some of the members here ..........
  15. IN the thread I linked post 22 and post 29 have sources and P/Ns.
  16. SCAM. Tell them that since they are sending a driver to pick it up and that the driver should bring cash. Do not even accept money orders or cashiers checks, they are just way to easy to scan and print on a modern laser printer. If they want to pay with a bank check, ONLY if you meet them at the bank the check will be drawn on so that the bank can verify it and cash it on the spot.
  17. Thermostat cover is another known leak spot. There is also a rubber o-ring in that cover. That cover is very close to the exhaust pipe and has been known to warp.
  18. Make that 3, my dad is 82 today. He even mentioned that he was born at 11:00 am. His biggest grip is that he can not get a BD card in the mail on his BD....
  19. When I look at the bottom of the main forum page and I see..... of the 124 guests is there any way to know how many are real people and how many are just bots surfing thru? I have always wondered this. On the day that there was 6K+ users, how many were members, how many were people and how many were bots.
  20. :rotf: :rotf: OUCH!!!!! That one hurt........ Don't give him a target to aspire to.........
  21. I am not sure on the 83, but on the newer ones there is a reserve position on the valve at the bottom of the tank. Almost everyone just leaves it on reserve all of the time since it is not something that you can reach while riding. The gas gauge shows empty when you have about 1 gallon of fuel left in the tank. You can use this as your reserve. When the last bar on the fuel gage goes out I stop at the next station I come across. You can easily test this by stapping a fuel jug onto the bike and go for a ride until the gage reads empty, and then see how much farther you can go till it is out. You then have some gas with you to get to a station to fill it.
  22. When you did the de-link, Did you remove the proportioning valve from the rear MC, and reroute the rear brake line to the port on the rear MC that used to go to the front? I also had to adjust the height of the break peddle to give me the braking feel that I wanted. Enough that I can get anywhere up to and including locking the rear wheel. But it will only lock if I make an effort to do so. Since the rear is now only applying brakes to the rear wheel and not the rear and front it will feel like there is a lot less braking power, because there is a lot less braking power. I did the de-link and I can easily lock the rear wheel if I wish.
  23. Darn you Puc. They may say that laughter heals the sole. But it is hell on a belly full of stitches. You know, with just a little tweaking, I can make the SNOW a real fine grain type so that it is more like white sand, then add in a good stiff wind so that it burns just like if it were hot, Yes I think that will help? Off to make some adjustments, Just for my buddy Puc. I may have to practice some to get it just right. Still wishing the best for you and keeping you in my prayers.
  24. The CMS has nothing to do with the turn signals. The Turn signals and the self canceling are in a separate module that also includes the start relay. If you go to an LED friendly flasher you will loose the self canceling. this will require changes to the bikes wire harness to implement because you will want to retain the part of stock flasher that allows you to start the bike. I am still working on a way to keep the self cancle and also add a LED friendly flasher, I have not found an easy way to do this yet, so don't wait for me on this issue unless you have LOTS of time to wait. This one is not even near the top of my todo list.
  25. This is correct.
