I did a thread somewher on my comversion. with values and P/Ns I just got home from hospitl and do not trust memory yet to give specifics000. Self cancle is in the stock flasher and uses both time and distance. distance is read from the speedo. any afermarket will not read the speedo for distance.

BFH should get it to turn off...............

OWWWWWWWW! Well i seem to hjave sighns of life post op. they sent me home with some good drugs..... I will try to get on chit tonit. no responsibl fer what i say.

A couple of things. 1. In most areas it is illegal to have amber running lights to the rear. Amber is for front only. I have read about some people dying the amber turn signal lenses to red to make it legal. I never tried it so I do not know if or how well it would work. 2. Always match the color of the LED to the color of the lens. NEVER use a white LED behind a colored lens. 3. I replaced all of my brake running and turn bulbs with the 45 LED towers from SuperBrightLEDs. They are all much brighter than the incandescent and there is excellent contrast between brake and running. They are not cheap, but are worth every penny. 4. I am not sure on the electrical differences in the flasher circuit between your 84 and my 88. on mine if I went with a LED friendly flasher I would also give up the self canceling. I went wit just 2 load resistors, one for left and one for right. everything on the bike works as it should. 5. If You do LED brake/tail light, you will have to jumper the CMU to stop it from always indicating a bulb out. 6. I have my license plate lit with the red light from the LEDs. it is suposed to be white light, but so far after one year I have not been stopped.

The time is almost here. I just finished my first of 2 wash downs. I had to shower till I used up 2 full bars of special soap. I did learn that 2 full bars of special soap will last just a little longer than my 50 gallon hot water heater. Burrrrrrrr....... I have to do a repeat performance and use up another 2 full bars of special soap, just before I leave for hospital tomorrow morning. I don't think I have ever been this clean in my whole life....... They told me to get a good nights sleep, ya right, like that's gonna happen after they explained all the stuff that could go wrong..... And then they bumped the time back to noon so I get to dwell on it a little longer..... Yes I'm all wound up. The logical side of me says there is nothing to worry about, they do this all the time. But the engineer side of me forces me to look at and consider all known variables and worst case scenarios.:bang head:

I had a similar issue on my 88. It finally boiled down to the Master cylinder that the switch slides into was worn. This allowed the switch to push out a few thou more than it is supposed to. I could not get enough by adjusting that free play screw so I had to use a piece of wire to tie the switch up so that it stays in the correct position. Unless you are really looking for it, you will never see that little wire. Some day when I get my TIG welder I will replace the metal that is worn off the master cylinder to fix it permanently and properly.

Well the machine does start automatically. So you are saying that for my own safety, once it is started, I should not risk climbing back up there to turn it off once in a while????

I have the same issue. I just picked one that gave repeatable results and then only use that one. I adjusted my pressures until I was happy with the ride and handling. That is the pressure I use. The tires may not be at the pressure that the gauge indicates, but the pressure that I have works.

To be honest, I can't remember the last time I was on the home page. About the only page I use is the new posts Link, that is my bookmark to get here. As to what version of software, you do what is best for you, and we will adapt. We will adapt with some kicking and screaming, but we will eventually adapt. And the couple that will leave that can not adapt, were probably not nearly as well addicted as the rest of us..... I have not really checked out the Hog site, My computer is slow enough already.....

Yes it is coming. I can feel it in my bones. And since all of the Docs and nurses have said that will be in much pain and just miserable on Friday night, I may have to crank up and blow the dust off of Ol Pucs favorite machine. Watching that machine run always makes me feel better. But since I will be hurtin I may not get much more than to just blow the dust off it. Who knows, If Ol Puc is Lucky, some of that dust may even blow all the way over the lake. Which machine am I talking about? Why the SNOW machine of course. Ol Puc has brought that machine up so very many times over the summer that I can tell he really does miss it. It seems to be all he thinks about. I had to do it, Puc made me do it. Thats my story and I'm stickin to it. Maybe I'll get some of the really good pain meds and not even remember that that poor old machine is sitting out there all lonely.....

Bob, that is not a mistake. Count your blessings that your wife at least has an interest in bikes. My honey has no interest in even going for a ride to see if she might like it. But Puc, You would look good on the back of Tweeks with Tippy drivin...... You can tell her I said so....... Or should I tell her? I can just see her now, 2 trackin you back into some nice remote spot. Your not afraid that she will make you look bad are ya.........

Glad no one got hurt. Yes there are some riders that I think are trying to get hit. Bike painted completely flat black, driver dressed in black leathers wearing a flat black helmet, driving near dusk with no lights on. I almost got him. There are also a few riders that dress in city camo to ride around in the city. I often wear my blaze orange deer hunting stuff.
