Yep, I wanted a Corvette really bad back in the mid to late 60's. Never got it and I've been happy without it! It would have hindered my love life to give up that big Impala bench seat in those days!

I'm really sorry you are disappointed. But with the low miles, it should be good for lots of pleasure packed miles. I'm terrified I will drop mine and scratch it up. I should have bought one that had a few scratches on it to begin with.

Congratulations! Takes an optimist to try it 3 times I suppose! A good friend who was determined to never get married has had a live-in lady that suits him well who is 17 years older than he is. She is petite and doesn't look her age. They have his/her jetskis, scooters, and snowmobiles. They've been together about 18 years. Who'd a thunk it!

My Dad fell in the yard. When the EMTs got there they resuscitated him like they are trained to do. Afterwards, in the hospital he was on a ventilator and the doctors told my family there was almost no brain activity and recommended we take him off the ventilator. My sisters wouldn't hear of it. Later in the nursing home we left instructions to not go to any extraordinary means to keep him alive if he had another heart attack and that is what happened 3 months later after they had to tie his hands down to keep him from pulling out his feeding tube. It had to be a terrible 3 months for him. Today is his birthday.

When I was 18 and just graduated high school, I spent some time that summer at my friends home located close to a drive-in restaurant with delivery to your car door. The juke box had outside speakers and I could hear them play the Ray Charles song, "I can't stop loving you". Somebody kept feeding the juke box and played it over and over again. Stuck with me more than any other song.

It was 73 and sunny here today. I used the ZN700 to run around town on my errands.

The old rule of thumb is that an engine needs 10 psi of oil pressure for every 1,000rpm. So, our bikes probably have a higher oil pressure than most car engines. The oil pump relief setting of 61.3 to 78.1 psi is the pressure of the system when it is revved up to its maximum oil pressure where the relief opens. That relief is the controller for oil pressure at rpm.

Not many of our fathers make it to 90. You are lucky to have him around this long. It's very sad but it is something we all face. We do all we can do but we cannot stop time and fate. My father had a cardiac arrest at age 79. He was revived but not soon enough to prevent serious brain damage and he spent the last 3 months of his life in a nursing home with a feeding tube in his stomach and not very much memory of his family or anything else. I wish he had not been resuscitated because of the suffering he went through the last 3 months of his life.

Wishing you the wisdom to make the best decision for you and your wife. I know it's a scary step. I got downsized way back and I was upset. But, as soon as my kid got older, I started working temporary engineering contracts doing the same thing I was doing before except the pay was more and all in hand and I never knew how long any job would last. I've been working that way since 1996. I've worked in Nebraska, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Alabama. I was divorced when I started and later got married. Afterwards, I came home as often as possible and my wife spent as much time with me at the job location as possible. I'm an independent cuss so it sort of suited me. It all worked out for the best.

I worked until 5 months after my 69th birthday and I filed for SS right after that birthday thinking my job was ending. Then last year worked for 4 1/2 months at age 70. I may work again but my resume is rather long now and it is getting harder to get a temporary contract engineering job. And I'm not looking as hard. I've been looking at what we can reduce. If both of you are retired, you could get by with one car. We have 3. We have an 18' boat that sits in the back yard and the public ramp is free. My wife is still working since I robbed the cradle last time I got married. We can cut but haven't done so yet. Oh, I was pulling on a lug wrench taking off my truck tire a couple years ago and pulled my right arm out of the shoulder socket. It hurt like heck and my use of it was limited for a while but it healed by itself. I never went to a doctor. I've been a lucky sob! Hope my luck continues!

Now in NC, you no longer have to feel like your life may be in danger to shoot someone in your home. If you come home and a stranger is sitting in your recliner watching tv, you can fill him full of holes legally. Not so in the garage or yard. If you are outside anywhere and there is a threatening situation, you can draw your weapon to deescalate the situation. You can also carry in businesses that serve alcohol if you do not drink yourself. The way NC is there are no public bars like we think of them. A business that makes its money selling drinks has to be a private club. Something like a restaurant that serves drinks does not and that is why they made the change. Carrying is definitely a huge responsibility and liability. So we need to manage it well.

When I was working in FL temporarily (for 3 yrs, 7 months, and 18 days) I obtained a FL CC permit. It is valid in my home state and about 34 total. But a few such as SC don't honor it because I'm not a resident of FL. Some FFL shops would allow me to buy handguns with the FL cc permit and copies of my apt utility bills for 3 months. That satisfied the residency status in their opinion to buy a handgun. Not all would though.

Open carry would just get people nervous around here and attract the attention and concern of the authorities I'm afraid. I wouldn't want to do that. But I have a permit for concealed carry and I do.

I'm not sure anything can protect you from those 82 year old women in Lincoln Town Cars like the one who recently t-boned my Magnum.
