  3. After a huge buck deer charged into the side of my car in a 35 zone within the city limits of Peru, Nebraska, I decided that as stupid as they are they were meant to be food. So, the answer is to eat more deer.
  4. When I had my Yamaha OX66 serviced at the dealer, they were adamant about not using the red Stabil in an outboard. Told me to be sure to use the blue marine Stabil. Said the red stuff would cause problems. Using alcohol free gas means a lot too if it sits a while.
  5. I owned a 25' travel trailer for several years when the kids were small. I could tow it with my F150. Having the F150 already and buying used kept the cost pretty low. It was great fun to take the kids "camping" in. We mostly used it at the beach. I did tow it 600 miles each way to Disney World one time. But, I don't like towing something that large. It's risky. I couldn't stop very quickly. Wind pushed it around. Big trucks passing on the interstate pushed it around. Ideally, what I think I want is a 4 wheel drive c class. I've seen a used one on ebay on rare occasions.
  6. Check the rules for the National Parks. As I remember from way back they won't let you camp there if the MH is over a certain length. When I drove around the Sierra Mountains from Lone Pine CA to the Sequoia National Park and through the park, the roads were really curvy and I didn't see any large MHs, just smaller c class. It all depends one what you want to do with it.
  7. If you are retired, an RV should be a blast. I've been wanting a small c class motorhome. But even though I'm retired, my wife is still working and we couldn't use it very much right now. 17 yr age difference Maybe one day.
  8. The B is only used for Bias/Belted tires. Bias ply tires don't have a letter designation. You were being misleading.
  9. The B means it is a bias belted tire.
  10. You may have a heart attack on that ride!
  11. I have a later model Motion Pro that has some other fluid. I tried it and found out it needed a refill kit. If anybody wants it I will sell cheap.
  12. I like my $600 utility trailer. It's very easy to load a bike. I tie the front wheel to the front rail and put 4 tie downs on it, probably 2 more than necessary. The front 2 I connect just above the fork brace so the suspension movement doesn't affect the tightness of the tie downs. Mine is a 5'x8'. A 5'x10' would be better for a Venture. I've been looking at the hinges on my trailer to see how to remove the tailgate/ramp. I suppose I can remove the grease fitting on the hinge bolt and knock it out. But, I'm not sure at this point that the hinge bolt is supposed to come out.
  13. I wonder what the tongue weight it with a big bike aboard. Might be a lot for a small car.
  14. the Stinger does not have any suspension. I view that as a fault. they claim the tires provide a soft ride along with the motorcycles suspension. dont know, but the tires on my utility trailer have to be inflated to 90 psig and aren't flexible. I used my utility trailer (rated for 1650lbs) to tow my 535 lb ZN700 for about 20 miles on the turnpike with the tires at about 35 psig and one of the tires failed. Lesson learned. 90 means 90.
  15. To me, typing cager is easier than typing man driving a car. That's all.
  16. Last Christmas I noticed that Radio Shack had little sensors for $20 that could be used to read the exhaust pipes temperatures. Would be handy. If they are still in business. I wouldn't sync the carbs until I was sure all of the cylinders are firing correctly. You would just muck it up.
  17. I wouldn't buy it because loading a big bike is too tricky. In both of the videos where a Goldwing was loaded, the rider was putting his feet on the ground. They must have been really long legged. I couldn't reach the ground while on the trailer and there aren't enough places to put your feet on the trailer to keep the bike from falling over. Okay, I skipped over the photos to see the videos. They have added running boards now to put your feet on. So, it's probably okay if you can stand the price. I bought an 8'x5' open utility trailer ($600) from Lowes to haul my ZN700 back from WI. It isn't quite long enough for my Venture unless I load it diagonally or remove the tail gate ramp. I'm not sure how to remove it yet. An enclosed trailer would be ideal to keep the road crud off the bike. For example, when I hauled my ZN700 from NC to FL in Feb 2010, there were lots of cars with road salt all over them going to Fl from the frozen north. It was rainy and the road salt was washed off onto the road. My bike got covered with road salt.

    Biker hit

GW, You have talked a lot about how you like to corner fast laying the bike down to where it scrubs. A patrolman might consider this reckless and give you a traffic ticket. Is riding recklessly okay but passing on a yellow line where you can see there is no danger except for not knowing you were passing a psycho so bad that it makes the rider a scumbag?
  19. Puc, we are all so envious of all of your amazing adventures with your best friend Tippy.

Whether or not the rider had a license, whether or not he was making an illegal pass, does not decrease the the cager's crime one iota.

With the video or just witnesses and license plate number, it would have been better to let him run. That would add to his crimes and punishment.

Thanks for the video link. As suspected, the guy is a scumbag and has been. This wasn't a first time going off the handle.
  23. Are you trying to cheer me up? Just kidding:) Seriously though, if there is someone on the cager's jury who thinks like you do, that the blame is equal on both sides, the cager may be found not guilty. At any rate, if the cager owns anything of value, he will lose it in the upcoming law suits. He ruined the rest of his life showing his displeasure of the biker's riding.
  24. If you really think that the biker was just as much at fault as the driver of the car, there is no point in us communicating because we could never agree on much I'm sure.
  25. No way the biker was just as much at fault. From looking at the video, it appears the yellow line was there because of the side road and you can clearly see that no one was about to come out of the side road and it was indeed safe to make the pass, irregardless of the yellow line. The biker got cited for no MC driver's licence and passing on a yellow line. The POS driving the car has been arrested for 2 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, sentence if convicted 2-20yrs on each count. He may as well shoot himself right now. His life is over. He's 68 yrs old. I bet nobody will miss him either.
