Die and go to heaven...i.e. take your bike to Ireland/England
BlueSky replied to Semi-retired's topic in Watering Hole
I wouldn't survive. I'd forget and ride on the right side of the road. -
I bought my VR from a craigslist ad. The owner is a nice guy who has his own boat service business and is an avid biker when he has time. I have seen many scams on craigs though. People who advertise something that looks really nice for half what it is worth. Of course they don't have it and it is always located a thousand or so miles away. Just send the money and they will have it shipped to you. One lady when I told her I wanted to see the truck advertised locally but was located in FL that I was going to Fl and i wanted to stop and see it said the truck was already "boxed up ready to ship and I couldn't see it".

There are a multitude of bp drugs out there. Don't give up. High bp kills. Strokes, Heart Attacks, organ failure, I've noticed that going for my 50 minute rapid walk in the morning will drop my bp by 10 or more points. A sedentary life style makes bp higher.

I loved the Chevys back in the day. I had a 56 Convertible, 59 Impala with manual overdrive, new 65 Chevelle 4 speed 300hp 327, posi, 69SS396 Chevelle. But, later in life it seems all the GM products I bought gave me too much grief. The Ford vehicles didn't. So now I have a phobia about GM vehicles.

Looking for used and abused 1st gen windshield

See if you can use his business rate to ship the shield. It will cost a bunch of money for an individual to ship it via UPS or Fedex. -
Teflon is inert and won't react with anything. It is good for up to 500 degrees F. The only applications it isn't allowed that I know of is at nuclear power plants. Gamma radiation will break it down and cause leaks.

Clutch Slave Cylinder leaking
BlueSky replied to BlueSky's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I have the tool kit screwdrivers for both of my bikes. This screw was already boogered up. I managed to drill it almost completely out when somehow I managed to break off the tip of the drill bit. So now I'm screwed. For the time being one screw will have to be good enough and it seems to be. -
Some phones are water resistant such as my wife's samsung 5

I used teflon tape to stop my TT gas bottles from leaking at the threaded joints, or was that my imagination??

Great White, You really ought to try Hawthorne supplements. The one I'm taking is the Natures Way brand. The recommended dose is 3 capsules 3 times a day with meals. I've been taking it for about a week now and it has made a dramatic difference in my blood pressure. I was taking a double dose of Losartan and it wasn't controlling my bp. Now with the Hawthorne supplement I'm taking the Losartan in the recommended dose. I'm sleeping better too. And, my arthritis is less than it has been in years since I've completely quit taking the Triam/HCTZ. My 2 cents

Have you tried teflon tape?

Clutch Slave Cylinder leaking
BlueSky replied to BlueSky's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Thanks for that tip. I tried the impact driver. It worked when I tried it on my Kawasaki but not on the Yamaha. There was nothing left to grip. But, drilling the head off and removing the cover sounds like a great idea that I had not thought of!! -
Since I bought my VR last year, I've noticed it was slowly dripping oil of some type and I sorta figured out it was hydraulic fluid from the clutch slave cylinder. I started to ride it yesterday and I noticed the fluid was too low in the clutch MC. So, I tried to remove the cover. One screw came out and the other had a boogered up screw head. So, today I went on a search to find a left handed drill bit to drill it out. Ace Hardware has them on their web site but none in stock. But, there is an old large hardware store downtown that had one. So, now if I can very carefully drill out that dang screw, I'll be happy for now. I looked at partzilla last night for the slave cylinder and/or rebuild kits and they have both available. I just did a lot of work on my 02 F150 to get it fixed(rr axle and bearing, both front bearing hubs, 4 tie rod ends, idler arm, swaybar end link bushings, lower ball joints, 4 calipers, brake hoses, master cylinder) and now it is the motorcycles turn. My Kawasaki ZN700 that has been reliable for the last several years wouldn't start. Battery is fully charged, cables are tight and the starter just clicks sometimes, not every time I try to start it. I think the switches in the circuit needs cleaning.

I haven't tried that many bp meds but I have found that Triam/HCTZ is most effective for me. It acts as a diuretic as well as doing other stuff, such as MAKES MY ARTHRITIS MUCH WORSE. So, I won't take it any more. My wife who is very knowledgeable about homosexual, errr, homeopathic supplements started giving me Hawthorne and it appears to be helping.

What engine did you have? Those quad four engines had lots of head gasket issues, didn't they. I used to rent those when I flew home for a weekend and I really enjoyed driving them. I would not buy a Chrysler for many years, but when I looked for a replacement for my 95 Mark VIII Lincoln, there were not many cars with a V8, rear drive, with independent rear suspension like the Mark to replace it with. Then I saw the leftover 2005 Dodge Magnum with the Hemi V8. Driving it with the power of the Hemi, I came down with a case of gotta have its. Out the door, it cost $22,250 and I had to register it in my home state and pay sales tax. Total about $10 less than $23k. So far it has 101k miles that have been almost trouble free. I love that car! The Magnum is more Mercedes than anything else. It's built on a Mercedes platform with a Mercedes 5 speed auto transmission and rear differential and independent suspension. Same as the 300, Charger, and Challenger. I've read that even the engine is based on an older Mercedes push rod V8. Good luck with the 200!

Oh, you haven't lived until you have stayed at the Red Rose in Elizabethtown, PA. The rooms are in very old tiny buildings. It looks like a migrant labor camp. The TV was not clear enough to watch. I stayed there for a while when working at the Three Mile Island Nuclear Plant. My per diem barely covered the room rate of $50/day. Sometimes contracting sucked and the motel and the job totally sucked. Lucky for me it didn't last long, just outage support.

On vacation last year we met the actor Justin Chatwin at Monument Valley in Utah. He and two of his friends were touring on blacked out Harley Sportsters. If you go to his twitter page, he posts photos of his trips. We saw him again at Lake Powell after he was pulled over by the cops!! He has been on many tours on his bike and the last time I checked he was riding to Argentina I believe. Anyway, a Sportster might be a fun bike to ride.

Not bike related but- Im SOOOOOOOOOO happy to hear this
BlueSky replied to Eck's topic in Watering Hole
The suspect claims the gun the authorities tied to the crime was in the pawn shop the last two months. That should be easy enough to verify. So, let it play out. You never know and the media goes a little crazy embellishing stories sometimes. -

the file is too large most likely. Reduce the size and try again. -
All depends on what style bike you like to sit on comfortably. The small cruisers, adventure bikes, sport bikes, etc are all entirely different in seating positions and comfort. Seems to be a lot of new Vtwin street bikes offered now such as the Honda NC700X.

Chaplain Dusty made it safely thru Detroit and is ON HIS WAY!!

Sounds to me like the freight charge is just a way to get more green from the customers like documentation fees. But, you got a great bike that carried you safely on your long trip and brought you back home. You did good, very good!! -
No wonder there are so many crashes at air shows!
