Last time I got food poisoning (at a restaurant just outside the gate at Sequoia National Park or the restaurant in the park) I took some Tums that helped a bunch. I ended up taking my wife to the Emergency Room in Phoenix AZ for intravenous fluids and an antibiotic. ($2300)

Way back in 1973, I bought a used 1973 Honda CB750 for a great price that had 800 miles on it. After sitting and getting cold, the clutch would make a noise when released. I called the Honda dealer shop and was told the clutch was dry and I could do one of two things to cure it. Bring it to them and they would disassemble it and lube the plates or I could just ride it a lot and it would self lubricate. Of course i rode it and the noise went away.

The Ventures from 83 thru 90 have weak 2 brush starters. Many owners replace them with 4 brush starters from any 1300cc V4 Yamaha motorcycle 91 and later. Dingy's cable mod should help. You can buy a used 4 brush starter from ebay for $50 and up. Search for XVZ1300 starter. If you use the search word "Venture" it might pull up other vehicle starters since Yamaha spread that word around.

The last 7 years, the US Guvment has spent about 10 trillion dollars it didn't have. That kept the stock market going well enough to keep up the value of the dollar. Wait and see what happens when the credit card bill is due. Canada has not been deficit spending like the USA until the newly elected leader who campaigned against deficit spending changed his mind as soon as he got in office. Our next president will probably be compared to Hoover no matter what he does.

There is a shop manual for your bike on this site. Check the build dates on the tires if they aren't worn out. Old tires can be dangerous on two wheelers. If the rear tire needs changing, while you are at it pull the rear gear and drive shaft and grease the splines. Lots of folks will chime in with other suggestions, I'm sure.

That looks really nice! A trike is the only bike I could get my wife to ride on the back with me.

I use weld tip cleaning wires to poke out carb jets and stuff. You can buy a set for about $5.

Now your wife can afford all that new furniture and appliances that she wanted.

I know the feeling. I keep lusting over small motorhomes. But, I have never been able to justify/rationalize the purchase. I'm retired but my wife is still working full time. Maybe when she retires or just decides to quit. Before my kids got too grown to go camping with the old man, I had a 25' TT. It was great for towing to the beach for a week from Raleigh. Pulled it first with a short wheel base F150, then with an E150 Clubwagon. Not so expensive if you don't get a behemoth TT.

A couple nights ago, I watched a youtube video of a father and son riding their Chinese Scooters across the whole country. They only paid $100 for the used scooter the son was riding. They would only go about 35mph. Seems you can tour on anything you want to.

Okay, you changed your mind since you posted you were going to sell the Victory and buy an RV and bought the Road Star. Hey, I change my mind all the time.

Comfort for the passenger pretty much rules out anything but a big touring bike.

The local Lowes and Home Depot that are about a half mile from my house charges $50 to deliver an appliance or riding lawn mower. Never occurred to me to tip after paying $50 for a half mile delivery.

When I looked at the list of ingredients in the Berrymans, I noticed that it had acetone in it. Acetone is known to chemists as "The Universal Solvent" which basically means it will dissolve anything. It's nice to know that it won't hurt anything in the carbs during a short soak.

My air cooled ZN700 heats up quickly when I use the power. I can only imagine how hot a turbo air cooled engine could get if you used the power?

And that wasn't even Sturgis!. I was looking to see if one of them was Puc!

And the V4 sounds way better than a flat 6!
