  1. Yep, AGM is the way to go unless you have the money to waste on a Lithium.
  2. Son Stuart just won a Grammy! Best Urban Contemporary award as Beyonce's recording engineer/mixer!
  3. Oops! Having FI is a great thing.
  4. A couple of really knowledgeable people on this forum recommended an electric pump be installed because of the likelihood of the chevy cam lobe being worn to the point it isn't working the mechanical pump lever enough. Why not give it a try? In the old days some of my friends would install electric pumps on their cars in series with the mechanical pump to make sure their engines were getting enough fuel on the way down the quarter mile drag strip.

  6. Any updates on what was wrong with the truck?
  7. I don't suppose there is a vacuum hiss when you remove the gas cap after it dies? Just wondering if the tank is vented properly?
  8. Car collectors will be salivating over that auction. Would be interesting just to go and see all those old and unique vehicles.
  9. I've heard good things about the durability of those 460 engines. A 77 would have a carb and no computer.
  10. Yeah, you're gonna have to swap that truck for a dually 4x4!
  11. The adventure begins! Shortly after I bought a 24' Layton TT that I towed with a SWB F150 without traction lock, I returned home right after a rain. I had a one acre yard so I circled the back yard in order to park it. There was a slight grade and with my worn down tires on the rear, it started spinning and wouldn't move. The tires didn't even dig into the grass. I just left it there until the yard dried out.
  12. Wow! That's awesome what you are doing for your brother-in-law! :clap2:
  13. Truth be told. Men would be happy with that attitude no matter what size she was! Now, the wife might be more inclined if we were slimmer.......
  14. Some owners of the 6.0 diesel reprogram it for higher boost and I've read that this is what causes the head gaskets to fail and causes the need for different head bolts. The egr causes overheating when it gets under load. I would be skeered of buying one.
  15. I usually hear that from the opposite side. Why would a woman get married and spend all of her time making one guy miserable when she could stay single and make so many guys happy!
  16. When I was working temporary contract jobs around the country, I started thinking about getting a 5th wheel camper to live in. I looked at one that I really liked. It was a used Grand Teton or something like that, really nice. I was thinking that I would enjoy living in it. Then I found out that the GVW was over 28k lbs. It would have taken a really big truck to tow it.
  17. When I got a job after graduating, I rode that same CB750 up the ramp into a uhaul truck. It wasn't that bad because I put the ramp end on the porch so the grade wasn't too bad. When I got to my new apt. I unloaded it by backing it down the ramp. I had to keep both feet on the ramp balancing the bike so I could only use the front brake. The front wheel wouldn't hold the bike so I backed down the ramp with the front tire sliding all the way down the ramp. I was fortunate that the bike came down slow enough that I was somewhat able to control it enough to keep it on the ramp without falling off. Whew!
  18. Can't have fun like that everyday! Reminds me of when I rode my 73 Honda CB750 up a board that I placed on the steps leading to the porch between my apartment and the next apt at NC State Univ married student housing. I was parking my bike on the porch out of the weather. I didn't build up enough speed to make it up the board and gave it some more throttle while on the board. The bike spun sideways and I fell into the bushes beside the steps with the bike falling on top of me!!!! Luckily neither I nor the bike was injured!
  19. When I bought my Kawasaki ZN700 in 2009, it only had 1,054 miles on it. Number 2 cylinder was dead. I verified spark by grounding the wires to the block. Turned out the original 24 year old plug was completely dead. That is the only time I've ever had a completely dead plug, NGK of course.
  20. When I lived in Raleigh and my kids were small, I bought a used 24' Layton TT bumper pull. I towed it to Myrtle Beach quite a few times. One time I towed it to Orlando for a Disney World vacation. I loved having it and I love the campground atmosphere, but when the kids got older and didn't want to go camping with the old man, I sold it. I was divorced during that time.
  21. In most cases, couldn't you just clean and repack the existing bearings? Doesn't seem to me they would get much wear.
  22. Don't know about that. Looking can get you all fired up to buy something you don't need. I used to have a really bad habit of looking at cars. One year I owned 6 different cars. They were all used and it didn't cost me much if anything to buy and sell them. I never traded with a dealer. My wife is still working so a MH wouldn't get utilized that much right now unless I toured the country without her!..... Since she is 17 years younger, I will probably be too old when she does retire! So I just need to go through my Venture and start riding to all the meets!
  23. At the retiree luncheon Tuesday, I talked with a old co-worker who is handling the estate of another co-worker. He's selling a 2002 37' Newmar Class A motorhome that is on a Freightliner chassis and with a Cummins diesel pusher. 45k miles. Asking payoff of $27,500. Tempting to at least go look at it.
  24. I'm still wondering what else you received that day besides coconuts!!!?? Sounds like that woman was really turned on!
