  1. The Leesburg BikeFest is this coming weekend. It's quite the affair, I understand. I've never been and will be there Friday and Saturday, possibly Sunday too. I plan on tent camping in the ABATE of Florida, Inc. Lake County Chapter's campground. Anyone else going?
  2. I hate it when things like this happen. I think we've all encountered similar. I know I have. Heal quickly my friend.
  3. lookin' good. wishing you all the best.
  4. Everyone raves about the comfort of this seat mod. Does it get your butt any closer to the ground?
  5. And we know how well that worked.
  6. I've left a STOP more than once in second gear. Never stalled, but you , and everyone else knows things just aren't right.
  7. I just joined the party. Wish something other than white was offered though. order confirmed!
  8. Best wishes! I know moving isn't a fun thing to do. I've done it hundreds of times with an "A" rating at the BBB. Vero's not far, I'm sure we will meet again.
  9. I've been using one for about a year now. I have no issues at all with the product. It does rotate a bit, I wouldn't exactly call it freely. I find it stays where I put it. I also use it for my GPS. I would definitely purchase another if mine went missing.
  10. Ram mounts are the way to go, options galore.
  11. Americade 1986(?) Those were the days my friend.
  12. Yesterday. Rode in a Palm Beach County Sheriff sponsored Crime Stopper fund raiser. 100 miles in great weather. The ride was escorted the entire route, no stop signs, no red lights or traffic to worry about, only the other 612 participants, some of which rode better than others. I always try to keep in mind, we've all had to get through the first few thousand miles. Hopefully they realize, it's a never ending battle, for truth, justice and improving skills. I didn't see another Venture all day. Was anyone else from here there? Ride safe my friends.
  13. I'm going riding anyway.
  14. I drove my Triple "D", as I called it, '96 Diesel, Dodge Dulley many years exceeding the CGVW often. That thing was a workhorse. I put 250,000 miles on it, my only issue was replacing the automatic transmission at 125k. Others were blowing up turbos and injector pumps, I never had an issue. We parted ways when I rear ended a semi in stop and go traffic. His trailer damaged my front end and my trailer damaged the rear end. Combined damage totaled the truck. Used for their intended purpose, they are awesome. As a grocery getter, their are better choices.
  15. As you load the bike with luggage and a passenger the suspension will compress. Your 4.5 inches of travel will become much less. The air pressure will bring things back to normal.
  16. I purchased the DVD and have watched it a few times, it is GREAT. Very well done, covering all aspects of the sport.
  17. We did get a bit of rain yesterday.
  18. I've been warned!!!! "Easy, big-talker - Mother Nature is like karma, and just may release the Kraken on yo ass this summer . . " from a friend on Facebook

  20. In round numbers, I've put 5,000 on the Road Star and 8,000 on the Venture in 2013. Today is a Road Star day.
  21. I finished my 2013 riding year with a 220 mile trek to attend a NYE party in Umatilla, FL. It was a fund raising event for the Florida State Elks. Jim Larsen RAN 101 miles in 23 hours and 20 minutes. Way to go Jim! Got up this morning to 58 degrees and a steady rain. It rained on (mostly) and off the entire ride home, but did warm up. Took the scenic, non-highway route home, 235 miles in just under 5 hours, then I took a nap. Well wishes to all my Venture friends for a great 2014.
  22. Congratulations! I'm going to give this a try; in June, with maximum daylight.
  23. I bought my well cared for '08 this past June with 17k miles, paid $9200. I've put 8k miles on it so far and am still in love with it. Best motorcycle I've ever owned. Just buy one!
  24. Tragic indeed. Diving is another unforgiving sport. Attention to detail is imperative, even then, things can go wrong. Hopefully, when they do, proper training and a cool head will clear the situation. After Dive Master training, I set diving aside and bought a motorcycle. Go figure. What's next?
