    Why

Just heard on the news that the state of Florida could be sunned-in for the next several days. Residents have been urged to hunker down at their nearest beach or tiki bar awaiting further instructions. Use extreme caution when braving this blizzard of sunshine, preferably SPF30 or higher. We are asking our friends and relatives to the north to keep us in their thoughts as we deal with two feet buried in the sand.

One must always keep their options open.
  3. I have the red Craftsman and a Carbon 1 like adapter, works well. It doesn't frighten me, but could be a bit more sturdy. If the Yellow is better spend the extra.

    Why

I lived in the Hudson Valley of NY until 1992. I know and rode in all kinds of weather, shoveled and plowed my share of snow. My Loudon, Americade and Pocono tee shirts are long gone. You're right you can get even in July and August, it is uncomfortably warm on a motorcycle.

I live where I live. https://scontent-b-mia.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/p480x480/1488075_603047846428007_1663181375_n.jpg Truthfully, there are other reasons.
  8. Good weather? I'm sorry, I didn't get home till 1 AM, had to ride home in the dark in 70 degree temperatures. I've been in Florida too long, I was cold.
  9. CG, it was great meeting you yesterday. Sounds like you're resolving issues, keep up the good work. It's great riding when you're not worried about things that might be wrong and cause an incident. Ride safe my friend.
  10. It was a great day. It was nice to see folks I met at my first M&G&E again and meet other VRO people for the first time. I feel blessed to have found this organization. I have sampled others and just didn't feel comfortable in their company. This place is awesome. Congrats to Karen for completing her first Iron Butt training session. Thank You to Barry for the VRO Bell and to all others present for the experience. As stated previously, a good ride, great food, ( in the future, I'll ask when the menu states "market price") and greatest of all awesome company. I ended my 13 hour day with 197 trouble free miles on the clock, two steak dinners (a second at the Belle Glade Elks Lodge) in my belly and memories of time spent with friends. Does it get any better than that?

  12. This sealed the deal for me, please save a bell for me. I'll see you there. Those traveling from south of the lake, how can I join up with you for the ride there?
  13. Thanks for the refresher, I hadn't seen that in a while.
  14. June 3rd, 2013, the Ebay auction closed with me as the highest bidder. I flew out to St Louis and rode my "new" Venture home, 1250 miles. Six months and 7000 miles later, I still love it.
  15. West Palm Beach, FL reporting: Still 45 minutes till sunrise, currently 79 degrees. Forecast is a possibility of breaking the 88 degree record.

  17. I was cleaning, the light was almost perfect.
  18. This past January, I reacquainted myself with the motorcycling community after a 25 year hiatus. I have attended a few charity runs, a few events held at local watering holes and a few bike nights at dealerships. There are many cultures within the mc community, most of which I have no interest at all in. A slight interest in one, I have found. But, I must say I was most comfortable meeting other members of this forum at the Pahokee Meet & Eat.
  19. Where do I pre-order?
  20. At the recent Pahokee Meet & Eat a few of us at our table enjoyed an adult beverage or two with our lunch. A rider from another group made his displeasure with our activity quite obvious. It's just my opinion, a few adult beverages during your 3+ hour lunch stop is within what I consider responsible drinking. Driving under the influence laws are strict, but do allow a limited intake. Holding an event at a bar isn't the issue, the behavior of the participants is. I rode around Lake Okeechobee yesterday, 200 miles. I stopped at three biker friendly locations and enjoyed a pint of WATER at each. I opened the first beer when I put the bike away for the day.
  21. I'd love to but, house repairs stand in the way. http://miami.craigslist.org/brw/mcy/4118415578.html
  22. I'll be out of town the next few weekends. So, I'm off for a trip around the Lake today. Ride safe my friend.
  23. How about TODAY!
  24. I have them and like them. Definitely helpful. http://yamahasportsplaza.com/oemcatalogs/p/yamaha_motorcycle_cruiser_2008_royal_star_venture/star_accessories-windshields/4ff76ce7f870020f741519db/tinted-lower-wind-vents
  25. As did I. It was a beautiful day, although a bit warm for my liking. I met five wonderful people that I instantly felt "at home" with. Thanks to all for making me feel a part of the group. I look forward to meeting again and putting on some miles together.
