I buy MANY raffle tickets with prizes I have absolutely no use for. Some might call it a donation.
-
I rarely lock my fork. I think I should adopt that habit. I am starting to think this was possibly done by kids getting off the school bus.
-
No wind today. Unfortunately, no cameras. The house next door is vacant, no one regularly uses the space next to where the bike was parked. This is the worst of the damage. That won't buff out!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went out to go for a ride at 3:15 pm and found my Venture had been knocked over. Wife left the house an hour and a half before me, all was fine. Possibly the neighbors don't like the Road King mufflers?
-
That's the spirit. Be safe and well, my friend.

Loyal Order of Elks is not the same as Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America. Coke and Pepsi are both colas, but very different.
-
Yearly, Elks return $3.06 to community projects for every SINGLE dollar raised. How can we do this? Over 100 years of donations has produced an endowment that now exceeds half a billion dollars. Please watch this: http://www.youtube.com/user/ElksNationalFndn Seek out the Elks Lodge in your hometown, we can use some help. We'd like to do more. Elks Care, Elks Share I'm done. You can "Believe it, or not"
-
Not believing something to be true does not make it unture. Pick a fact, any fact, do your research and prove me wrong.

I am sorry, to be a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America there are three qualifications. You must be a United States citizen over the age of 21 and believe in God. Lodges outside the boundaries of the fifty States do exist. They happen to be in Guam, Panama and Puerto Rico. United States Territories. Everything I've stated in post #29 is a fact. Again, I suggest you visit: elks.org and my home state, floridaelks.org I am proud to be an Elk and have no need to embelish statements to make the Order appear anything more than it is. Doubting the statements in post #29, I would also think you wouldn't believe the Elks built the first hospital for injured soldiers returning from WWI, Turning it over to the US Government, it was the kick start to the current day Department of Veteran Affairs healthcare system. ps There are over 7,000,000 members in the BPOE of the USA. Are there no brother or sister Elks belonging to this forum?

I am a member and funnel all my donations through the Order. No one, I repeat, no one, gives more to help build communities than the Elks. Last year, Florida State Elks spent $6,000,000 enriching the lives of Florida's youth. Three million dollars funds our Children's Therapy Services. A fleet of 23 vans travels the entire state, providing 375 therapy sessions WEEKLY. Therapy includes physical, occupational and speech. These are in home visits at no cost to the recipient. A three million dollar budget also funds the Florida State Elks Youth Camp in Umatilla, FL. A 450 acre campus hosts over 3000 children each summer. Again, for the most part , at no cost to the recipient. If you can afford to pay, it's $180 for a sleepover week at camp. Installed this year was a 1.2 million dollar aquatic complex. You will not find a more respected camp in the country. On a national level, again, no one awards more scholarship funds than the Elks. Last year we eclipsed the United States Government. These are bold claims. Visit Elks.org and floridaelks.org The Order is uniquely AMERICAN, with 2000 lodges spread about on US soil. There must be a lodge near you. Stop in and see what we're all about. Elks do a lot and have a lot of fun doing it. I'll step off my soapbox. ps I almost forgot. We do it all with an 8% administrative cost.

I enjoy it when a rider tells me they have never dropped their ride. I simply answer, you haven't been riding long enough, it's going to happen. Hopefully, you won't get hurt.
-
Like the rest of us, I've been there and done that too. Fortunately, it's not often. When it becomes commonplace, it's time for a change. Ride safe, my friends.
-
I can surely relate, I am a new Venture owner also. Enjoy the ride, be safe and well.

I've owned this a month now, purchased with 17k miles, I've put 3k miles on it and the Dunlop D404s. Pressures are 40 psi front and rear, I ride alone 95% of the time. I'll need new tires soon. Thinking of the Elite IIIs. I stopped at the dealer because the PO told me that the warrantee ended the end of this month. Wrong! I have anything I can't handle done at an independant shop. Thanks for your response.

Two passenger vehicles, three motorcycles and two trailers. All but the passenger vehicles were purchased this year. Between title fees, taxes, registration and new plate fees, oh my. I don't really want to think about it.

My Venture and I are new friends and the more time we spend together the more I seem to notice THINGS. If I sit on the bike holding it centered and quickly shake the bars left to right then stop stop my motion the front end seems to wiggle back and forth on its own a bit. I don't notice any wobble when riding. My Road Star doesn't do this. I stopped at the dealer, and was told that the antennas were causing it, it was normal. Am I paranoid? Is this normal?

F4 windshield performance
gez replied to orlean1's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I've been thinking about getting the F4 vented windshield. Can you tell me your experience with it? -
Parts falling off: sounds Harleyish to me. I scared.
-
I saw Willie years ago, great show. It is amazing that the legends are still performing and doing it well. I'm looking forward to seeing one of my longtime favorites, Bob Dylan, next week.
-
It made me thirsty!

I found a set on Ebay. They and my trunk rack should be here next week. Passing lamps still to come, then I think I'll be set for a while. A GPS might find it's way to the handle bars. This Sunday is FATHER'S DAY!

Thanks for your joining in on this. Those are the OEM Yamaha product?
-
Yamaha has an OEM set of deflectors. Anyone have them to give a report?
-
Charlie, thank you! The wonderful protection from the elements the Venture affords sure makes it the warmest bike I've ever ridden. It's only reached mid-eighties recently and the engine heat is really uncomfortable. What will this be like when it's 90+? I don't really like the way these look on the bike, but I think function will override beauty in this instance.
