  1. Heck Marcarl has had a Spyder for a year and we still let him hang around!
  2. If anyone was having trouble getting a room at the Comfort Suites 20 Jul - 23 Jul. I just canceled two rooms........just FYI.
  3. It works for me but your right the iPad mini would be nice and I already had the 2 iPads wasn't going to buy another one just for the bike. If you go to "GPS City" web site they are out of Calgary so Canadian prices and shipping they have every kind of Ram mount you can think of just type in the type of device you have in the search box, "a motorcycle mount for ????" and it will give you all the options they have. There are a couple for the mini. Interesting if you click on those thumbnail with my iPad they are right-side up? But upside down on the Windows desk top at work?? I don't know? I'm not an I.T. guy, I'm not even a computer operator guy!
  4. You better stick around..................with the parts I may be looking for! Buddy your my pipe-line from the south to north of the boarder.......
  5. Hey SilvrT Never did take a picture of that set up....but I just took pictures of the bike for Ins. purposes after my spill. I got two shots that sort of show the mount at least. But there not the best and the one with the up bent bar makes it look like it sits higher than it really does.
  6. In that case I'll be sure to get it to him as soon as he is back on his feet and up for it. That way he will have the matching set...seems to me I got some pants around here some where that would go nice with it?!
  7. Ya, but we be brothers, twins! Danny & Arnold or Darrell & the other Darrell......Bro's. Next time call me 1st before you get dressed for MD it's embarrassing showing up in the same outfit for the party. Mind you Mom always said you had better legs!
  8. I'll probably get in trouble from the Boss man for posting this here.... Rain Jacket XL "Gears" black and grey with reflective stripes, with detachable hood, only used two season and only if it rained, a little wear & tear. See photo for over all condition.PM if interested. Tooch
  9. Was good to see you again Kevin.......Sorry I forgot the Zed's & U's. We didn't get much of a chance to talk, cause I was to busy playing Army Man's (Remember doing that as a kid?!) with Cowpuc. Glad you made it safe.....................it was last summer that we all worried about you.
  10. Well I down loaded a Tom-tom GPS App. for $46.99 with 4 updates a year & maps for life, turned my iPad into a GPS that does not use data while traveling, to operate. Bought a Ram mount for the iPad with a combo lock so someone can't steal the iPad off the bike. ( Just when I go pay for gas or something cause I would not leave it on the bike for long.) Hooked a splitter up under the fairing and ran the iPad through the bikes aux. Got a USB charger for the Cig. lighter socket to power it, as I go down the road. I can now actually see the screen on the GPS which was getting real hard on the little screen on my old Garmin. It was just to small for my old eyes. I have iTunes to play if I want. Always have a camera with me all the time and can take it into the Hotel/ Motel for Wi-Fi when I travel. More than a few noticed the set up on my bike at MD. It is just the pussy cats rear end!
  11. I look at what happened to some of the others this weekend, ending up in hospital and all. I hope they can recover as well as I was lucky and be watched over the same way I was, in what they are now going through. Tooch.
  12. I got to experience something I've never done before......sliding down the highway at 70-80 km/h and watching my bike sliding down the highway beside me, throwing sparks off of the left rear bag rails.......I was thinking, man all this rain and water on the road and it's still throwing up all those sparks! I'd been in the right lane on the 407 Hwy. just coming up to Hurontario Road, the rain had turned into a monsoon again and the wind had really picked. I had basically no visibility but there was no traffic and I could make out the white lines that I needed to keep it between. I should have slowed down more then I had but I was still an hour out and wanted to get home. I didn't see that the run off was coming across the roadway and was pooling along the right side of the road. I started to hydroplane and the front end lost all traction and started to go into a wobble. I rolled off the throttle but the backend started to slide towards the right. I started to correct and felt her starting to come around but I hit another standing pool of water that totally wash out the front end on me. The road is 5 lanes wide here and the surface is concrete the water was running in sheets down the camber of the road and I might as well have been on ice. As the back end completely wash on me and came around, I knew I was going down. As the bike started to slide onto her left side I just pushed away from her and let her go her way and I went mine. I didn't want to stay with the bike in case she went high side on me. Well I slide down the highway watching and thinking about the sparks when it dawned on me, man, I think this is going to hurt! And just as I thought that, I came to a stop in the middle of the highway and looked over at the bike which was stopped on its left side over, by the centre concrete barrier. There were no lights, no traffic coming towards me so I did a quick check of myself and nothing hurt so I got up and walked over to the bike on the left shoulder of the road. I picked up my windshield with the windows bags still attached as I walked towards the bike but that was the only thing that appeared to have broken off. I could see a lot of damaged and bent parts on the left side. Wow what I mess if the bikes that bad there has to be some injuries to me. I really checked myself over feeling around and moving everything. My rain suit was shredded and my armoured jacket was full of abrasions and worn right through on my right elbow to the armoured pad. My armoured pants looked the same. I had pair of Kevlar jeans underneath but later I found they didn't have a mark. I didn't have a mark on my body and nothing at all hurt and I felt fine. I didn't think my head had banged off of anything but I took my helmet off and looked it over, not a mark. I went over and wrestled with the bike and got it up right but the kickstand would not come down and was jammed up somehow. I pushed her over to the concrete barrier and leaned it against that. It was still pouring rain and the best I could see the left side was a mess. I threw on the 4-way flashers and dug out my cell phone. Of course my cell phone is dead! As I said not much traffic and what there was, I couldn't get anybody to stop and help me out. Finally someone stopped and of course later I find out he rides and that's why he stopped when he saw me trying to flag him down. Bruno was his name and he called the police for me. The police came and did a report and he called a friend of mine for me, who came with a flat-bed tilt-load and took the bike to his shop, in Vaughan and gave me a lift there. I called Cathy well after 1:30 and woke her up to come get me. She had no idea I had left MD to come home early and was mad, that I hadn't called her to tell her I was on the road on the way home. She drove the hour down from Barrie to get me and I guess she had settled down some, cause she finally ask if I was all right. I was soaked right through by this time, helping to unload & load the bike. (My rain suit was shredded & somehow wasn't doing much to keep me dry!) When we got home I had a hot shower and looked me over again, not even a bruise. Got to bed at 5:15 a.m. And thought, I bet I'd feel it in the morning......... Well I'm not feeling anything out of the ordinary. As I type this, the only thing that is injured, is my pride. I'm OK and grateful that it turned out that way. The bike can be fixed and if not, I guess replaced.
  13. Hey Puc I was looking forward to using a big marker and signing Tweeks..............Now I can bring a spray rattle can and sign your Kia! And take a look at how long my name is.............................................................................................................
  14. I'm a sucker for these draws.......but I never win! The last MD I had bought two arms lengths of tickets and I was handed the two strips of tickets. Wasn't till they started calling numbers I noticed I had both half's of the same strip. Same number on both sides of the tickets I'm holding....the tickets that went in the bucket were the same, both half's of the same strip. So I had numbers in the bucket but if they were drawn the other half was in the bucket as well. ( Funny I never won anything?) MAN those are tough odds! All in good fun!! I had a good laugh at myself!
  15. Mama I'm sure you would be welcome at which ever tent you showed up at!
  16. Well I'll buy one for Bob. And if not I have 2 on my bike one my sister gave me...........and one that I won and Freebird gave me. I can pass on the one I got from Freebird, if need be!
  17. With the favour you offered to do for me Bob............You got it. If Freebird has any of the Venture ones....I'll get you one there....if not I'll pick one up before I leave. Hey Freebird you got any left?!
  18. Oh! For the guy that went to Freebird's a week early! ..........No! that's NOT nice...... I'll bite my tounge and duck. All in good fun, sorry, I'll go back to my corner now.
  19. [quote=Flyinfool; Would it have been mean to offer to count spark plugs or exhaust pipes with him........ My last bike was a v-twin and it had 4 plugs....so that might not work.
  20. Interesting?! Before last MD we were all a bunch of "Clowns!" Now we're nothing but a bunch of "Troublemakers!" We might just have to resemble that remark, somehow!?
  21. Eggsacatacaly......what Wayne said, Larry's work is great and he is such a Gentleman to deal with!
