  1. Well with the forecast and my luck with riding in the rain lately......I'd be OK with leaving Friday as well. But either way.....what ever the group decides I'll be there.
  2. I should add a bunch of guys I ride with are the HD type.....can't ever hear my bike anyways! :rotf:
  3. Hi Doug 1st Welcome to the nuthouse....... I'm just going to say I was a Honda guy my whole life never rode anything but Honda cruisers. I wanted to move up to a touring bike but I don't like the look of the Gold Wing, personal taste, but a great bike. I was trying to find a good used Valkyre when I stumbled across a Silver 05 Yamaha Venture and bought it not knowing much about them (Thank goodness for this site.) She was a Whiner! And I learned to love it. I used to think "George Jetson" (if your retired your old enough to remember him!) cause it made a whine & a deedledeedle sort of sound that reminded me of his flying car. I thought how cool is that, my bike sounds like a flying car.......never bothered me after that cause anytime I did start to notice it I'd think of George. I now have a 2013 it just whines.....no deedledeedle but it's not as loud as the 05 was. So now I hear a lot more noise out of the top end of the motor, that I never heard on the 05. Just ride it and give it awhile I'm sure you'll learn to love it.
  4. Well Carl & Don if your Ok with it.........I'll jump in with you boys and girls Thursday afternoon. If you want to meet at Casablanca.......just name the time......I'll be there.......the new scoot needs to get out for a real ride! I sent a PM to Saddlebum but that Bum Ben hasn't got back to me ??
  5. Didn't Larry (Carbonone) make an aux. gas tank for the Hannigan Trikes???? I think?
  6. Our definition is...."The team the Blue Jays are in 1st place ahead of!!!:rotf::canada:" Go Jays Go!!
  7. Back to school would not be an issue and at that time of year to get to do a ride can be great. However if the date was to push into the 2nd or 3rd week of October, weather could be an issue, might not be! I should add, there have been years I have stored the bike for the season one of those weeks. But there have been a few other years I've made it into late November still riding. (Now if someone down SOUTH wants to host it and can put us, Frigidly challenged neighbours from the North, up for a couple of months and I can ride down there all winter. That would be the best!)
  8. Ok I don't know if she bought the car new or used or when it 1st went in service.........but.....75,000 miles & if it is under 5 years on the road and if it is used the warranty is transferable......any GM dealer is supposed to back the Pontiac warranties. Might be worth a shot......cause 75,000 on that motor, if it was looked after?! Something isn't right. [h=3]Pontiac Warranty Coverage and Information | Pontiac[/h]Pontiac has the best warranty coverage in America with the GM ... *The 2010 and 2011 model year 100,000-Mile/5-Year Transferable Powertrain Warranty. If it's close I'd raise the roof with GM customer service.....never know might be worth a shot.
  9. Let me get this straight......"Isn't the band made up of Judges?!
  10. Hey BJ I have the Utopia and agree with what everyone else says. The other thing I like is, if you have been on a long haul with a couple hours in he saddle. You can push your lower back into the backrest and put your feet out on the pegs and lock your legs out straight and you can take the weight off your butt for awhile. You don't lift right off the seat, you can, but you just shift your weight. It's just enough to get your backside from carrying the load, so to speak, give it a rest from heavy contact with the seat. Find this really helps with the numb bum and can extended your comfort for a longer time in the saddle. Just another way to shift around and change things up to be comfortable, longer. The 1st thing I made sure I pulled off my 2005 to put on the 2013 was the backrest. Now that I've had one, I won't ride without it.
  11. OK! This I like, caricatures of our members "Carl" Mararl & "Dave" Dogman. Not bad. "Scott" Cowpuc.......Nah!.... That's just a little too fast and classy for "tweets"! How about the guy with the camara all the time.........?! Don't know might have to work on it some...... Hey there is one for "Dan" YammmerDan.......Now that's going to get me in trouble! "Dave" The Tooch..........LOL
  12. Yep! So darn good look'n ya'll got to cover them under stickers & horns and other pieces of junk ya attach all over em, to hide what they really look like! Sorry, I guess I should have said to enhance the Beauty!
  13. I think you weren't to far off with the....."LOOP" thing.
  14. Puc I have to warn you about this guy........nail everything down and keep an eye on the silverware. This guy is a well known shady character from our parts. He has a revolving door relationship with the local constabulary and has been in & out of every cop-shop in Toronto. I can say for a fact he has had more police dogs following his tracks, at one time or another, than any harden criminal type up here. Sleep with one eye open buddy and don't let him out of your sight.
  15. Didn't read what the man posted? "Less than 4 weeks" Get off the computer and back out to the garage! You'll never get that trike back together, if you don't get going. Robin will not look good in a cage.
  16. I thought the same thing 1st Gen's, 1st Gen's with a hack (It's white & I actually like it!) 2nd Gen's, Trikes (Very cool.) and the Batmobile. Wait?! What? What's the Batmobile doing there? Oh! It's just one of my favourite superhero's......hanging at the Venture International. CarbonOne! Larry looking good, I like the soft top!
  17. Well I think it's all in fun! And Freebird I have seen panties in a Big Wad! around your place....I think they were Big Tom's?!
  18. Yep all in fun. That is the point! Well the V-max is a power cruiser.....now we just need to turn it into a power tourer for mature riders who want the performance and good looks of a "MOTORCYCLE" and not some space cadets galactic time machine! (Actually a time machine would be cool!)
  19. I typed out the following then thought NO, I better not post it, some of the guys won't like it. But then I thought....we can't talk about Religion, we can't talk about Politics.......but by gum we can talk about Motor-Sickles! So let's rumble, I want a 3rd Gen that I like! (I typed out the title afterwards as well.) Got to say that sounds like a real nice bike and Wow! would it perform. But if it looked like that and had 1st Gen styling, sorry to say I wouldn't buy it. (I believe when we got on this topic before Freebird said the same thing.) Never liked the 1st Gen, looked to much like the old Gold Wings (Which I never liked either, and they have morphed into the current style Gold Wing, which I don't like. Everytime I see a white one I think, "That thing looks more like my refrigerator, than a motorcycle!") It's all personal taste of course and no matter how great a product is, if it doesn't appeal to you on some other level your not going to buy it. So IMHO please Yamaha give it all that great performance and super high-tech gadget whatever, but don't cover it in plastic slab panels and make it look like something else, other than a motorcycle. I don't want to open the hood, remove a million pieces of plastic to get at things! Most of of us on here are in our 50 - 60 or more and remember when the 1st Gen's came out they were very modern cutting edge, in a style that was almost sort of space-age looking. (Remember, at the time.) I think you either loved it or hated it. Well I hated it! I know some on here are going to hate this! Don't get me wrong, I admire the bike, the engineering, the motor, the handling and all that. But I just don't want MY bike to look space-age. I guess I want it to look kind of old school, kind of basic motorcycle. Where I want the modern engineering is inside. In the motor, the performance, the handling, the brakes and you can even give me super space-age rubber composite tires if you like. The fact is for me because Honda stopped making the Valkryie which I liked and I was trying to find a good used one. I stumbled across the 2nd Gen. (Good work Yamaha on promoting your product, never heard of it, till I saw one!) I would never have gotten here if I had not seen a 2nd Gen and liked the look of it. And then while researching to see if it actually was a good idea to buy one, I found this site and now I'm on my 2nd, 2nd Gen. So more 2nd Gen looks in the 3rd Gen I say....... And as they say......Too each, his own! (Who is THEY anyways?!)
  20. That's good to know for sure, I was just counting the IN box and thought I had it down pretty good. With what I have in the Sent box I still have 175. Going to have to work on clearing out some on both. Thanks Freebird.
  21. Apparently my PM message box was full, I guess I will just have to start managing my files better! Who knew?! Just cleared a bunch of old junk out........ Go ahead Steamer try sending me one now and sorry about that...
  22. Oh ya his web-site is down? Just FYI.....
