So I may sound a little harsh here but to me this is just another example of being selfish, he was more concerned about his personal rights then his responsibility to family. One of my pet peeves is when children pay the price for something they have no say in. Like the single anti-mask mother in Toronto last summer (vaccines weren't out then put I suspect she would have been anti- vaccine as well) who praised the guy that defied shut down orders and attended his fully opened to full capacity restaurant with her small child. She along with a high number of other customers got covid and she herself got so ill they had to put her on a ventilator. The child who had no say in the matter fortunately only had minor symptoms. After months in the hospital the women was lucky enough to pull through and barely survived. So, were would that child be if she had not? So based on the theory of the survival of the fittest, why then have any medical care at all? Like good livestock the fittest would continue to procreate improving the quality of the species and tough luck to those who can't cut it. In other words maybe as a society we should just decide on one path or the other we either try to survive by any means our combine intelligence is capable of coming up with or we just revert to 100% survival of the fittest. Yet I would be curious to know, how many among those who preach survival of the fittest, when sick, would allow nature to take its course and how many will run straight to the doctor or the hospital for help in hopes of getting well. There is obviously some truth to the fact that people with underlying issues have the lowest chance of survival. How ever that logic applies to almost any medical illness you can name but still these same people had they got sick by any other illness had a better chance of survival then with covid. As well there have been an unprecedented number of perfectly healthy individual that would normally have survived other illness that did not survive covid dispite not having any underlying issues at all, Maybe not many but more than what would have occurred with any other illness we currantly have to deal with. Government is never perfect but still IMHO the lessor of other options, many which lack the proper qualifications yet profess to be experts and in doing so even manage to develop a group of misinformed followers which can be dangerous in it own way. Then there are the qualified experts on both side of the fence that have different opinions so now you have to choose which one is right and which is wrong but to do that you would have to be better educated and more knowledgeable then they are. Then there are the conspiracy theory's at the end of the day conspiracy theory's are just that created mostly by chicken little,s and about as reliable as the predicting the end of the world. which by the way has come and and gone numerous times and if you notice none of those who ever predict the end ever admit they were totally wrong. It was some one miss-interpreted the original calendar wrong or interpreted the wrong calendar or its the scientists fault because they did not properly determine the actual number of days in a year. So at the end of the day right or wrong I will assume that for the most part we are still far better off wearing masks and getting vaccinated then not mainly because I have found that in the past most so called experts that go against the advice of the majority of experts and medical experts, at the end of the day more often than not have been proven to be wrong in their theories. That statement holds true were things are obvious and no debate exists. In other cases it can be applied to either side of any debate. So now we would have to decide which side is being fooled and which side is not which would probably create a whole new debate as to who is the fool and who is not in the eyes of the oppisite side of any debate.4 points

I would like to point out the the 2009 Yamaha VMAX is a totally redesigned 1.7L fuel injected V4 that has very little to share with the original 1200cc "First Gen." VMAX. The new VMAX engine is much taller and wider than the original. When I spoke of items that could be shared between the Yamaha Venture and the VMAX I was exclusively speaking about the First Gen. VMAX, NOT the Second Gen. bike. In my opinion, a 200 horse power Second Gen. Royal Star Venture with forward controls would be a "death trap" for the average rider! This is the reason that the Second Gen. VMAX positions the weight of the rider directly over the foot pegs, so that the weight of the rider can be used to control the "body lean" of the motorcycle. Now are there forward control cruiser type motorcycles out there that have been overpowered, (insert Harley here), Yes there are. But as we often see, the skill set of the rider doesn't match the horse power of the bike, and this is where accidents happen. Only the rider can decide if their disposition and riding skill warrants the increase in horse power that a Second Gen. VMAX engine in a Second Gen. Royal Star Venture would produce. As the owner of a First Gen. Venture Royale that is basically a VMAX with luggage, I take the riding of that motorcycle very seriously! Even though I know my limitations with that motorcycle, it is VERY easy for this bike to get out of my control, and has in the past. I have a stock 89'VR that I ride much more regularly. I find that 94 HP matches my skill set much better than 150 HP and NOS! The current issue I face with the 87'VR is I can't, in good conscience sell this motorcycle because I have NO way to measure the skill set of the new owner. I would hate to sell this bike to a "novice" rider, and have them kill themselves with this bike. This bike truly might be a rock I wear around my neck to the day I die because I overbuilt this machine during a time in my life when I THOUGHT I could control it's power. at 66 years old, I no longer feel that way. Think carefully before you modify your bike, I wish I would have! My thoughts, for what they are worth, Earl2 points

@Du-Rron There is a very valid reason why I don't trust a particular set of the data from both and it is a real simple concept. From the CDC, a memo that stated 6% of the COVID death total was actually due to only the COVID 19 virus. at the time Fauchi and the Media chastised anyone who made this statement. This is a Government Bureaucracy leadership blocking or trying to control their own data. Ask yourself why. I just learned a friend passed away. I spent many years working with him in Boy Scouts. He went with his grandchild on a campout with the scouts. When he came home a few days later felt ill, Went to the Dr. and had a severe lung infection that had become pneumonia. He became infected with the COVID19 virus and passed away a week later after that. Statistically he will be listed as a COVID death but from what we've been told they were not expecting him to survive the pneumonia. While listing him as a COVID death could be construed accurate it was really the pneumonia that was the largest factor in his death. BTW: He was fully vaccinated months ago. When do we stop calling them break through cases?2 points

I have refrained from providing data from The CDC: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/index.html because I know that there are those that will not accept that data and the conversation will be lead astray to another problem. I have refrained from providing data from World Health Organization https://www.who.int/news-room/q-a-detail/coronavirus-disease-(covid-19)-vaccines?topicsurvey=v8kj13)&gclid=Cj0KCQjwvaeJBhCvARIsABgTDM5fnf_lknDLWkqCbnp1gNoBwhzc1gdJo4fXXOoL3a0Dnzxlf1zSpZ0aAg0EEALw_wcB because there are those that will not accept that data either and the conversation will be lead astray to other unrelated problems as well. I have refrained from providing data from 5 Billion doses given that proves the vaccine is safe and effective https://www.google.com/search?q=world+covid+vaccine&oq=world+&aqs=chrome.0.69i59j69i57j69i59j46i67i199i465j0i67l2j69i60j69i65.2234j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 because some of you will not accept that data either and will lead the conversation further off track. I have only provided data from my own Community and the associated data that goes along with it. This IS what is happening here and no debate about a fringe case here there and yonder will change that for what is ACTUALLY hapening here in San Angelo right at this moment. Yet some of you still find a way to talk about a fringe %0.000008 of unverified cases supposedly gone horribly wrong after vaccination and then to twist my data to fit your own narrative. Really folks, this IS what is going on in San Angelo, my own home town, I work in a company of 1000 people where dozens are out now and I can trip right down to Shannon and see the totality for myself.2 points

Finally success!!! I was able to bleed the clutch and finally able to take the bike for a spin around the block. I never thought changing the tires would take me this long but I learned a great deal about the bike in the process. Thanks to everyone for all the help.2 points

I agree I had friend who built up a 69 charger R/T to the point were it belonged on the track not on the road. Not long after he sold it to a guy who we found out later did not buy it for himself but for his kids 18th birthday. That kid had not been behind the wheel 20 minutes when he put his foot in it lost control and wiped out. The ambulance had to be called and the son ended up spending some time in the hospital. My friend felt real bad and told me later if he had known the guy was buying the car for his kid he barely had time behind the wheel he would never have sold it to him.1 point

I would caution your rhetoric here @saddlebum as to this point everyone in this has just presented various opinions without denigration. Your statement above begins to clearly cross that line in your reference to those (myself included) who do not agree with your assessment. Let’s keep this reasonable and respectful, which it has been to this point.1 point

@bpate4home no, these are not the extremes. Folks may say that, to bolster the ideas they have in their head and to ignore what is going on in front of them and to degrade opposing information they may receive. I started out by saying it is impossible to change folks minds on any internet medium. I still stand by that and I am not trying to change yours. I am only reporting what is going on in my city by providing documentation I have, and to provide nationwide links like covidactnow.org, all of which may violate any antivax/anticovid persons sensibilities. No need to ballywho about extreme statics on this that or the other. Assisting Covid folks, as of 08-28-21, is taking up very nearly ALL of Shannon's ER capacity. Shannon has run out of beds (and/or Nurse capacity) as of 08-26-21. Shannon has stated this. The local newspaper has run articles on it. The Shannon doctors have made videos about it. Individual Doctors have made videos. Gov Abbot is in critical nurse search mode now. Texas has been rated as "Severe". This IS what is going on in San Angelo right now. I hope it is better where you are.1 point

I monitor storms for our Firm and wanted to share info here as this thing is growing quick. I can't see to attach the graphics at the Moment so I've attached a PDF of the info. If you can get out of the way of this storm it might be a good idea. Otherwise, stay safe. The eye of hurricane Ida is becoming better defined as crossing Cuba had little to no effect on the storm. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 85 mph with higher gusts. Rapid strengthening is forecast during the next 24 to 36 hours and Ida is expected to be an extremely dangerous major hurricane when it approaches Gulf coast on Sunday. The SHIPS and LGEM models are showing a little less strengthening than previous runs. However, the HWRF and HMON models continue to forecast Ida to reach Category 4 intensity before landfall with winds approaching 140mph. Please note that these are 2 of 20+ models predicting Cat 4 status. We know this storm will be a strong Category 3 storm. The majority of the models are showing an expansion of the wind field as in it increases in strength. Tropical force winds are expected to affect the coast line beginning Sunday morning. Storm Surges in some areas are expected to be 15 + feet near Morgan City, LA, the mouth of the Mississippi River to Ocean Springs, MS. Overtopping of local levees outside of the Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction System is possible where local inundation values may be higher. As Ida moves into the Louisiana coast late Sunday, total rainfall accumulations of 8 to 16 inches with isolated maximum amounts of 20 inches are possible across southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi through Monday. We could see major flooding along Ida's track and in to MS. Flash floods are a high risk along the LA coast to north of Lake Pontchartrain but chances of flash floods cover the entire LA, MS and AL coastlines and extend out to the FL Panhandle, Western AL, MS and portions of TN. Scary!! That's why we have vaccines and why Marca and I got stabbed. When it gets to be our turn, maybe, just maybe it won't be as bad. As in motorcycles, it's not 'if' you drop your scoot, but 'when'.1 point

https://rumble.com/vkopys-a-pathologist-summary-of-what-these-jabs-do-to-the-brain-and-other-organs.html And since we know this will never see the light of day through the MSM, let’s just deposit this here. Remember that every one of the “vaccine” manufacturers made sure that they cannot be legally liable for any side effects. This is not just some YouTube rant from an ignorant individual but is a summit meeting of some of the worlds leading pathologists, hematologists (blood work).1 point

Just don’t get why people are so freaked out (actually it’s the media fault) over a virus with a 99.97% recovery rate? More people die every year from flu not to mention pneumonia. Then let’s throw in heart disease from obesity and diabetes. Are they mandating flu shots every year? Do we go into lock down and distancing every flu season? When was the last time you were ordered to put down the ice cream spoon, push the bowl away and get off your fat lazy butt and exercise? As this whole Saul Alinsky plan is implemented we are losing more and more of our freedoms under the guise of “safety” and “the greater good”. This is the same exact path (for you true historians) that Germany took in 1938. I pray America wake up before it’s too late, for once freedoms (any of them) are surrendered willingly they can only be regained by force.1 point

I get that, however that’s the same argument people use to try to ban motorcycles, force helmet laws, seatbelts, alcohol, tobacco etc. etc. The city stopped short of mandating the shot but made life so hard at work if you didn’t that I finally caved and got it. As far as the $$$ I get the same feeling every time I see my tax dollars and med bills wasted for those that choose not to work and pay their own way. I finally came to the conclusion I’m gonna work, pay my bills, and live like I want while a 1/3 of my income disappears since I only get one shot at it.1 point

I thought I would add some additional info on the use of VMAX parts on a Second Gen. The First Gen. VMAX Heads are NOT useable on the Second Gens. The Second Gen. heads have a set of mounting holes that connect the top of the engine directly to the frame, unlike the MKI and MKII First Gens. which have an extra set of frame mounting points on the engine block. The VMAX Cams are a direct bolt on fit in the Second Gen. cylinder heads. There is enough "meat" in the heads to machine for the larger Intake Valves. The First Gen: Second Gen: and VMAX Exhaust Valves are the same size. With the taller tranny gears in the Second Gen. Final Drive, the VMAX Final Drive Swap is an excellent upgrade, and is one of the best "Bang for the Buck" upgrades that can be done to a Second Gen. for performance gains. Along with going fast, you will want to be able to STOP your bike as well. The addition of a set of R1/R6 front brake calipers is also a great idea. The late model VMAX front brake calipers are identical to the R1 calipers, just not as flashy. Both the R1/R6 and VMAX front brake calipers are a direct bolt on fit on the Second Gens. I hope this info helps, Earl1 point
