Bubber Posted April 12, 2014 Share #2 Posted April 12, 2014 I only did the one on the lower right side where the original horn was. No complaints in 3 years.

Flyinfool Posted April 12, 2014 Share #4 Posted April 12, 2014 I only did the one on the lower right side where the original horn was. No complaints in 3 years. Isn't the purpose of a horn to be loud and obnoxious and generate complaints???
billmac Posted April 12, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted April 12, 2014 Ok, if I change both will I need to put relays and wire both the same or just one ?
bongobobny Posted April 12, 2014 Share #6 Posted April 12, 2014 If you do both, yes you can use 1 relay for both horns....

TheCoffsKid Posted April 12, 2014 Share #8 Posted April 12, 2014 (edited) hi, I have a 2006 rstd and out a WILO horn on and kept the originals working as well. Main A1 highway runs through our area with lots of semis and double B's so needed something that the truckies would hear. Wired it through a relay. No problems so far. Passengers don't notice unless told. Cheers, Edited March 19, 2015 by TheCoffsKid

Drreb Posted April 13, 2014 Share #11 Posted April 13, 2014 You know if you hook a twelve volt battery up to a bulls butt you can blow his horns.
Red Rider Posted July 9, 2014 Share #12 Posted July 9, 2014 Can I just plug that wolo horn into the stock wires and it'll work? Or do I need to run a relay and all that junk.
etcswjoe Posted July 9, 2014 Share #13 Posted July 9, 2014 Can I just plug that wolo horn into the stock wires and it'll work? Or do I need to run a relay and all that junk. You will need to add the relay, it draws too much power for the OEM setup.
djh3 Posted July 9, 2014 Share #14 Posted July 9, 2014 I originally changed out the left front horn to a Stebel. Later I installed a Sick Speed after reading a thread on here. To get a Stebel up in the left leg fairing takes a bit of patience. I didnt want to mount it in behind the fairing as some had done, I figure why put a 138db horn inside something. TheCoffsKid Posted March 19, 2015 Share #16 Posted March 19, 2015 Nothing like resurrecting an old thread ... but .... Where and how did you mount this... I like this a lot. Thanks I originally installed the extra air horn adjacent to the right pillion foot rest. The top of the horn sat under the footrest, A bracket was made so that existing bolts could be used for the horn. The exhaust did not have to be moved. I have since decided to turn the bike into t single seater so I didn't need rear footrests so I moved the horn so as to use the footrest bolt locations. See pictures attached. TheCoffsKid Posted March 19, 2015 Share #17 Posted March 19, 2015 First three photos are with rear footrest in place, last one is with footrest removed. Cheers
Mad Dog Posted March 19, 2015 Share #18 Posted March 19, 2015 First three photos are with rear footrest in place, last one is with footrest removed. Cheers Thanks! So you made a bracket that went between the footrest mount and the frame? Is that right? That looks like an excellent idea.
Phoneman1981 Posted March 19, 2015 Share #19 Posted March 19, 2015 I only know of one horn on the RSTD's. RH side. I replaced my whimpy stock horn with a Wolo horn. Highly recommend using the chrome bracket and horn relay wiring harness that Carbon One here on this site sells. Easy 30 minute install!!!
Wizard765 Posted March 19, 2015 Share #20 Posted March 19, 2015 Yes Larry's bracket puts it where the original was and comes with the relay and wiring etc.. nice work. Slowroll also makes one that puts it behind the passenger foot rests. Also very nice work..
