Hi there, New here. Nice to see so many people still riding these old bikes. I haven't had mine lit in 5 years for various issues.. not the least of which was the ridiculous prices wanted for insurance coverage. Anyway... back to the bike. I just got the whole slave loose from the bike... not a problem. NOW I need to get it out of it's hiding place. Is there some magic? Will it drop down? ( Bike is on a frame lift right now and I haven't been able to get my hands in there ) or do I have to take that middle gear off? Please.... say it ain't so! Thanks in advance for your help. I have a rear caliper and fork seals to tackle too plus cleaning the carbs which I KNOW need some de-gunking.

Hello, I've about had it.... Started out with clutch/ slave master cylinder and a stuck shifter problem... Clutch and shifting problem seem to be pretty much resolved, but in trying to finish up the job I'm having a terrible time with the bleeding. I've reverse bled the clutch about 5 times.Tried it the standard way several times, also left the clutch lever tied down overnight... What happens is I bleed the air out, pump the clutch handle about 3-5 times and by then the pressure is so hard I can only move the lever about 1/2 inch. Rebleed and same thing......over and over and over...:bang head: I've taken the master cyl. apart and put it back together twice...Followed the diagram exactly..same thing...Slave is new and work fine..... Push rod from slave works fine, clutch is good.....I've run a very fine wire throught the pinhole in the master cyl.... What the heck is the problem here??? I need some new answers or suggestions... I'm all out of ideas??? Clay

On a trip to NC last year I lost the rear brakes. Pedal went right to floor. There was no leaks so limped it back to MI, located a resevoir and slave cylinder on ebay. Visual inspection of purchaed unit looked good, installed and bled the system. A good stream was exiting out the rear caliper, cleared all the air out of the system....still no brake pedal. Hooked up a vacuum bleeder to rear caliper ran another pint of fluid and still no pedal. Reviewed factory manual and found no clues or help. Couldn't find any specific procedure for bleeding rear. Look for rebuild kit for slave??? Or, am I missing something??? Any help or suggestions would really be appreciated. Thanks, Gary844

I just picked up an 89 Venture Royale. It has an oil leak above the exhaust crossover when running. The left frame behind the shift lever has oil on it. I think it must be the Middle Gear Cover because: - I can't see anything down the back of the engine or on top of the transmission except a coat of grime. And the oil on the floor looks like it just came out of the bottle, no dirt. - PO said the clutch slave was leaking and he hadn't been able to fix it (not clear if he tried). - The bottom of the cover is gooped up like someone tried an external patch or put lots of RTV in the joint when assembling. Before I pull the cover are there any known issues I should be looking for first? Thanks for feedback.
