  1. Any one ever re-built a auto Trany ?? My son and I are going to give it a shot, he has a Z71 and the trany is toast, he baught the re-build kit ( Borg-Warner ) it came with a DVD and instruction manuel, so it may not be to bad, if all turns out good it will save him around a grand, they want $300 for a junk yard trany and after all the work it may be no good also, so thought we would try this our selves. any tips would be great!! Thanks, Kreg
  2. I havnt seen this site discussed in here, so I thought I would share it just in case someone hasnt seen it. This site is called MapMyRun and you pick where youre going to run (in our case it is a mc run lol), put it on their maps and save it and its on a web page for everyone to see. You can put in turns and points of interest and even get everyone to run off a copy before you get to the start so everyone is aware of the route. It also can be used to plan a long distance run as well as local runs, and I understand that you could save it into google maps as well. Find it at www.mapmyrun.com Heres the link for the newbie ice cream run in Regina Saskatchewan. http://www.mapmyrun.com/route/canada/sk/regina/566211812621 Have fun!!! Brian :cool10:
  3. In the year 2008, the Lord came unto Noah, who was now living in Canada , and said, 'Once again, the earth has become wicked and over-populated, and I see the end of all flesh before me. Build another Ark and save 2 of every living thing along with a few good humans.' He gave Noah the blueprints, saying, 'You have 6 months to build the Ark before I will start the unending rain for 40 days and 40 nights.' Six months later, the Lord looked down and saw Noah weeping in his yard - but no Ark. 'Noah!' He roared , 'I'm about to start the rain! Where is the Ark ?' 'Forgive me, Lord,' begged Noah, 'but things have changed. I needed a building permit. I've been arguing with the inspector about the need for a sprinkler system. My neighbors claim that I've violated the neighborhood zoning laws by building the Ark in my yard and exceeding the height limitations. We had to go to the Development Appeal Board for a decision. Then Hydro One demanded a bond be posted for the future costs of moving power lines and other overhead obstructions, to clear the passage for the Ark 's move to the sea. I told them that the sea would be coming to us, but they would hear nothing of it. Getting the wood was another problem. There's a ban on cutting local trees in order to save the spotted owl. I tried to convince the environmentalists that I needed the wood to save the owls - but no go! When I started gathering the animals, an animal rights group sued me. They insisted that I was confining wild animals against their will. They argued the accommodation was too restrictive, and it was cruel and inhumane to put so many animals in a confined space. Then the Ministry of the Environment ruled that I couldn't build the Ark until they'd conducted an environmental impact study on your proposed flood. I'm still trying to resolve a complaint with the Human Rights Commission on how many minorities I'm supposed to hire for my building crew. Immigration and Naturalization are checking the Visa status of most of the people who want to work. The trades unions say I can't use my sons. They insist I have to hire only union workers with Ark-building experience. To make matters worse, Revenue Canada seized all my assets, claiming I'm trying to leave the country illegally with endangered species. So, forgive me, Lord, but it will take at least 10 years for me to finish this Ark. ' Suddenly the skies cleared, the sun began to shine, and a rainbow stretched across the sky. Noah looked up in wonder and asked, 'You mean you're not going to destroy the world?' 'No,' said the Lord. 'The Government beat me to it.'

  5. WOW!! 50-60 knot winds, rain. One heck of a storm rolling thru. So far I've lost the gates in the back fence and about 50 feet of side fencing. The window in the office sounds like a digery-do. Tried to save some of the fence and then said screw it and came back inside. Hope the roof stays put.......
  6. I remember recently reading threads that talked about computers crashing and people losing all kinds of stored info pictures, files, folders, etc. We had our computer crash on the Th to the point it wouldn't even restart, all we were getting was a blue screen. We had knowledge of a small computer shop locally (Practical Computers Inc.) a husband & wife with a couple of employees, anyway they have been around for a long time. We took seven years of our life to them in a dead tin can on Monday the Th and and got it back on the RD with a like new hard drive, double the memory and all of our stuff we thought was lost is still there, and we have the old hard drive if they missed anything (they said bring in the old hard drive and they would find it). Yes it cost $150,00 to have it fixed. If I would have installed the new $45.00 CD writer two weeks before the computer crashed (it crashed while putting the CD writer in) we would have had the capability to save things to disc so we wouldn't have been taking a chance on losing them later. Live and learn. Put a disc writer in your computer so you can download your memory's. I hope this will give some of you a reason to smile as I'm sure there is a computer repair shop that can save your memory's too.
  7. Buddy Rich put this together primarily because he thought the family might like to have it. He did a wonderful job. I hope that they see and download it. Of course any of the rest of you are welcome to it also. Right click on the link and then "save as" to your computer. http://www.venturerider.org/saver/garyleslie.exe
  8. I've been trying to change the sub-heading that appears under my ID on my posts. I've gone to the UserCP to edit my profile, checked the reset and typed in the info, clicked save changes, and NADA!! The dang thing won't save it, and keeps 'member'. Que Pasa?
  9. Enough's been said about repairing the computer module on this board, but i think there's one thing that's not being mentioned when the dash is out and exposed to the elements.... :-) Replace all the illumination bulbs with new ones, and save yourself the trouble of replacing a burnt out bulb later on down the road.. Why put a repaired dash that's 20+ years old back in without replacing all the bulbs which are pro'bly 20 years old as well? They're the same #158 bulbs used in auto dashes, and can be found at any local auto parts store. They run about $1.50 each and there's about 7 of them. Do it and save yourself some work.....
