  1. I am installing a CB on my scoot and need a wiring diagram of what wire is what on the CB unit ('86 and up) as well as the PTT/Channel switch assembly. I do not have the wiring assembly that goes with the CB installation so I need a schematic so I can hardwire the system. I know of at least one other member that may need the same information. Help!!!
  2. I'm in need of an electrical diagram for my bike.. I have the shop manual with the individual diagrams but I was hoping to find one that I could follow a circuit the entire length of the bike. Anyone have one or knows where I can get one myself? I have an 84 Venture 1200. I’ve had electrical problems with is since I bought it last year and now that I have it apart I’m finding out why.. Someone has done a mess of a lot of jerry rigging and to this point I haven’t been able to make any since out of what they have done or why.. The best I can tell is that they had installed things on the bike that are no longer there and they didn’t seem to care about it when they removed the items they had on it.. Some of the things they have done just seem so idiotic.. It’s really hard to believe some people can be so dim…. Anyways any help anyone can give me by way of knowing where I can get a full electrical diagram would be a huge help.. Thanks..
  3. Marshall Gammon was kind enough to send me this diagram showing how to properly use hook up a SWR meter if you have done the Marshall Mod to your radio. I am attaching two files. One is a regular .jpg file but the reduction in size makes it a bit hard to read. The other is a .ppt file. Very good quality if you have PowerPoint. If you don't know what the Marshall Mod is, here is a link to Marshall's page. http://bludolphintravel.com/gmg/marshallmod.htm Thanks go out to Marshall for the excellent diagram. 14145.ppt

If you don't know what the Marshall Mod is, the attached document will explain it along with instructions. I've uploaded it as a word document as well as a .pdf file. Whichever you prefer, they are the same. Thanks go out to Marshall for the excellent diagram. Marshall Mod .pdf Marshall Mod .doc
  5. Hello all, I have been trying to debug a cb problem on my bike but I don't have a detailed wiring diagram so I can zoom down on possible cause. Yes.. I splitted the fairing and used dielectric grease on contacts, I didn't open all connectors just the one pertaining to the communication between the driver and the passenger. I think know which one it is because I installed a mic-mute a little while back but I may be wrong. Is it possible that the mic-mute will cause my transmit problem? Here is the symptom: The cb transmit rf level seems to be ok but the modulated audio is extremely weak so other people can hardly hear me. All they hear is noise and some time my voice in the background. The communication between the driver and passenger is working fine. I think that both transmit switches (driver and passenger) are OK and that both mics are working fine because we can communicate between driver and passenger no problem. So I am looking for some advice and also for a place where I can get detailed wiring diagram so I can follow the audio signal coming from the microphones. The Yamaha service manual doesn't help there is no way, for example, to follow the mic wiring diagram from the helmet to the cb unit. One last question... where can I find the schematics for my cb?? Thanks for your help Hermann
  6. :confused24:I found some LED light strips which I want to mount on the rear of the wheel chair I have mounted on the back of the bike for my wife. Although all present lights are visible, I wanted to add these "just to help". I will simply put a plug under the truck to attach the lights into whenever we take the wheelchair along. Here is my question. I have a diagram of how to install the wiring so the strips work as running lights and brake lights, just as the Pilot LED strip under the trunk works. In the wiring diagram it calls for 2 #4003 diodes. I have been to every place I can think of and cannot find #4003's. I have #4002's and #4004's. Not knowing enough about the diodes, would either of these diodes work in place of the #4003??? If one would work, I can get at it, otherwise I am going to have to order 4003's and of course I want to get them installed BEFORE the weekend!!! Any of you folks who could help me with this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
  7. Here are the links to the parts catalogs used by most commercial site: 1983: http://tinyurl.com/4yt66u 1984: http://tinyurl.com/3jmmnj 1985: http://tinyurl.com/3oasrg 1986: http://tinyurl.com/4bnb6l 1987: http://tinyurl.com/4bnb6l 1988: http://tinyurl.com/4zer58 1989: http://tinyurl.com/4kefl2 1990: http://tinyurl.com/4xnecn 1991: http://tinyurl.com/4almpq 1992: http://tinyurl.com/4yn8kk 1993: http://tinyurl.com/4hd5od Diagrams are stored as .pdf's. If you don't have Adobe Reader (or another .pdf reader) installed on your computer, please download the reader from the following link: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html There are two possible ways to see the files: Left-click on the appropriate link and the diagram will show in a new browser window. You can then use the navigation pane on the left to view the appropriate diagram or just scroll down page by page. You can also right-click on the appropriate link and choose the "Save Target As..." option to store a local copy on your hard drive. Navigation of the file is identical for both procedures. On thing I noticed is that the 1989 parts diagram is mislabeled, it show the model year as XVZ12 instead of XVZ13, a minor glitch, the part numbers are correct. Also, the diagrams for 1986 and 1987 are identical. Hope this helps, Klaus
  8. This diagram is in regards to the Yamaha Venture. It may or may not be applicable to other motorcycles. I believe it will also work for the Goldwing though. http://www.venturerider.org/headsets/index_files/headsetpins.jpe
