  1. FYI, Back in Oct. I purchased heated glove liners for $175 from: http://www.vasoglove.com/ Their product looked awesome. However, it's now Jan. and I still have NOT received the gloves. Their customer service # is now disconnected and the guy I was talking to, doesn't answer calls any more. Luckily, I purchased this with a Credit Card and moments ago had the charge disputed/refunded. Bummer, I was REALLY looking forward to toasty fingers this spring, not to mention now, when throwing snow. Happy New year all, more snow coming........at least the snowboarding has been great! Cheers,
  2. Guys, Beware if you get an email from "Ridelikeapro.com", saying that your credit card order had a problem. I just received this email, and I have not ordered from them in many moons. Someone is PHISHING for your card info. I sne them an email to let them know their site is being used to PHISH data from their customers. Whatever you do, DO NOT CLICK ON THEIR LINK AND ANSWER ANYTHING. Your credit card will be used to spend your $$ on someone elses Christmas.
  3. A great BIG thank you goes out to Black Owl!! Gary's is putting new seals on my front shocks and Russell was kind enough to help him out over the phone last night. He got them all apart and cleaned and was just starting to put them back together when he got a fire call, so he'll finish them up tonight. This is a great site and the people on here are the best. Thanks again Russell! :bighug:We both really appreciate it!!

    What to do?

Interested in people's thoughts and suggestions: On October 7, I was in an accident. The accident happened about 200 miles from home, and I have not seen the 06 RSV up close and personal - I lost consciousness from the impact with the pavement and by the time I got out of the hospital, the bike had been towed away. So, today I get a call from the insurance company and they tell me they are going to write the bike off - really quite surprising to me, since the damage was all cosmetic. It is an 06 (bought in September 05) and has just over 71,000 kms (44,000 miles) on it. I have put a lot of extras on the bike (harley lights on the rear, trunk light, bag rails, chrome passenger and driver floor boards, Diamond R driver's backrest, Stebel horn, ISO grips, tank bib, tank tie, Kuryakin hiway pegs, wind vents, light visors, mudflaps, new pipes, and the list goes on). The insurance company is offering me CDN$17K (about US$14.4K) minus my deductible of $500. That is to walk away from the bike. The fellow tells me that in that, they have given me credit for $2K worth of accessories - I know I spent much more than that, but of course, you don't get dollar for dollar credit. I am leaning towards telling them that I will take $15K for the bike and I would then head up to the compound and take the accessories off. Of course, I would check the bike over first to see if the damage to the accessories was not significant. Any thoughts, ideas, recommendations? I have to close off on this one way or the other this coming Monday. Cheers,
  5. 6. Hey Folks, We pretty much all know that my '99 is done for. I do not expect to get another G2 this year as I am going to pay debt down this year and my insurance money will pay off Credit cards. What I have is some custom items and aftermarket chrome from the '99. I'll post up some pics of what I have when I get back from the Chiropractor and we'll see if I can get some items to those of you that want them.
  7. If your like me junk mail hits the trash. Most of it I never open. We always get credit card offers along with special checks for existing accounts etc. It's easy to over look something. Credit card banks are getting nervous.I guess the loses among the subprime lending crunch has rolled over into the credit card accounts. Good paying customers with good credit and no late fee's ever are being reclassified. One of my wifes accounts is going from 13% to 29.99% if she wants to keep the account open. An immediate letter before the april deadline stating she wishes to deny the increase is necessary to freeze the account and hold the current apr. Last month I had one of mine go from 7.9% to 19.99% for no reason. I gave there business to someone else for 7.9%. Why banks penalize good customers who never default on the terms is beyond me. It's not my fault they lost there A## somewhere else. Watch your accounts.
  8. Hi folks, I just have to share my experience with you all. I'm just a little po'd. I posted it on the Goldwing site too. I just bought a 2008 Airbag Titanium. I called Progressive at the dealer to have them swap the 2005 RSTD with the GW. They said that would be $150.00 difference. After that I thought my policy is 1/2 up and that is the balance to the renewal period. Well yesterday I got this mail that said my new rate would be in excess of $1100 for my 08 Concours and this 08 Goldwing. Dang, that just didn't seem right. Read a little further and it states that my rate is high due to 4 credit strokes and that my wife had gotten credit when she was So, I saved money for my daughter to buy her a car in her 12th grade year. I did that October 1st. Fully loaded Nissan and ended up paying cash -- after I checked what the lowest rate was from both the Nissan dealer and my credit union ... ~ 5.5%. About a week later my wife gets the new car bug and wants to trade off her 20 month old 06 Honda Civic. We do that and again check rates at the dealer and the credit union -- since the Fed had made some adjustments recently wondered if it had any impact, plus the dealer was really close to the credit union rate and wanted to edge a little more out of the credit union. On her car we had trade equity plus threw another 10K cash on the purchase. Now, I had a trade for the GW and paid the difference in cash as well. Very fortunate to be able to do so, but not without a lot of planning and time. So, I shopped for rates, have stellar credit, had my credit hard stoked 4 or more times in the last 24 months, ended up paying cash for most things and somehow my wife establishing credit at an early age is a bad thing. In escalating the issue I talked with the big dogs and they said more or less that their analysis shows that people with those characteristics (4 strokes and credit at a "young" age) file more claims than others...and I just admitted to the behavior. Go figure. Looks like the housing slump and the lack of trust in credit scores has moved into the creativity realm. I'm thinking class action lawsuit against scums like this. If you are a lawyer or know a good one -- talk to them. I'm sure there is some money to be made with this crap.
  9. Welcome to the age of Identity theft. The age of abundant information puts us all at risk. You guys might want to take a look at life lock. http://www.lifelock.com/default.aspx?promocode=now The free credit reports each year, instant notification of a request for credit in your name, and a cut down of junk mail is worth 9 bucks a month.Never thought I would see the day we needed this protection. Paul Harvey says its a good thing.
  10. Just wanted to say that I recently made a visit to Kelly’s in Hamilton (Ontario) and was very pleased with their service. A fellow rider who has done business with them suggested them to me. I also met another venture rider who didn’t know about this site (can you imagine that!), he also spoke well of Kelly’s. I talked with Kelly a fair bit and found him very courteous and helpful, he also seemed confident of his staff. The young girl at the parts counter was not only very helpful but also seemed to know her stuff and was very pleasant. They haven’t done any servicing on my bike yet but I’d be willing to give them a try. After doing some business, asking some questions and getting advice, I felt very pleased with my visit and drove away feeling very satisfied. We don’t live in a perfect world so it’s nice to see someone do the best they can. He also gave a discount for club members.
