Does anyone know Shane Stump or now how/where he can be reached. He created some vehicle maintenance software called Drivers Log and since my computer crashed last week, I had to put in a new hard drive. Can't get the backup working. Thanks

I have a program on my computer that I don't know where it came from and I can't get rid of it. And it's a real pain the A**. It's mIRC, I know what it is but I want it off my computer, gone..... Control panel doesn't work and I've searched all over their web site and can't find out how to get rid of this darn thing. It seems to be taking over the computer. Thanks in advance, Jerry By the way, you don't have to be a geek to give me the right answer. Anyone will do.......

I remember recently reading threads that talked about computers crashing and people losing all kinds of stored info pictures, files, folders, etc. We had our computer crash on the Th to the point it wouldn't even restart, all we were getting was a blue screen. We had knowledge of a small computer shop locally (Practical Computers Inc.) a husband & wife with a couple of employees, anyway they have been around for a long time. We took seven years of our life to them in a dead tin can on Monday the Th and and got it back on the RD with a like new hard drive, double the memory and all of our stuff we thought was lost is still there, and we have the old hard drive if they missed anything (they said bring in the old hard drive and they would find it). Yes it cost $150,00 to have it fixed. If I would have installed the new $45.00 CD writer two weeks before the computer crashed (it crashed while putting the CD writer in) we would have had the capability to save things to disc so we wouldn't have been taking a chance on losing them later. Live and learn. Put a disc writer in your computer so you can download your memory's. I hope this will give some of you a reason to smile as I'm sure there is a computer repair shop that can save your memory's too.

Man, oh man, I have learned a VALUBLE lesson. I will never open an attached thread from any e-mail or posting from anywhere again. Rednecks computer lost EVERYTHING including his desktop to a very bad virus night before last. I just about did today, only thing I had left was the desktop, but couldn't go to anything on it, and my son was able to do a system restore after doing the viruse scan, so I basically have a brand new computer, nothing was saved, I lost EVERYTHING. Was bearly able to find you guys again. Be carful when on the internet, I had 99 bad viruses and at least 6 Trojan viruses, and several worms. They are mean and the only way to get rid of them for good is a total system restore (if you catch them in time). Have to send Redneck's new computer back to Gateway and see if they can do a restore, he has Vista, so he took back his old computer to be online, when he gets back home. Good luck out there, just wish there weren't so many bad people that would make these stupid worm and viruses to attack computers. BTW they can attach to photos, videos and music files also. Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving.

Well, Wednesday afternoon we will be heading out (via the SUV:crying:) to Florida. Taking my son down to Disney for vacation. He is 10 now and we took him 5 years ago. So I'm sure he will find more he enjoys this time. Planning on driving straight through. I will have a computer with me so you won't escape me Having some maintenance and warranty work done at the Dealer on the bike while I'm gone. I installed the Diamond star headlight modulator. My question is both my headlight warning lights are now on the computer how do I go about turning them off? Thanks Jim. -
Dash computer is shot! Does anybody know how to completely bypass the dash computer. I have bypassed the headlight and the taillight but I can't figure out the brake lights. I jumped the pin connector for the head light and tail light but I am having trouble finding the right combination for a brake light jump across the connector. Any help would be appreciated and would get me back on the road. Thanks, Derek -
How to locate an old thread?

It seems like I have seen a search engine somewhere on this site to look for an old thread. Where do I go to find that? Also, will the smilie's stay the way they are now? It was easier when they were in their own section. I wish I knew how to down load those really funny ones that Cindy uses...but alas...challenged again on the computer of life...
