I just found out today that a friend of mine is on life support and in a coma, he is 48 yrs old and has a wife and too beatiful little girls. He had just bought himself a new Harley Fat Bob and it was only his third or forth time out on it, this guy is a highly experienced rider. It happened during rush hour on the QEW in Burlington. Apparently for some unknown reason he was forced to brake extremely hard and lost control of the bike. A doctor and nurse Happen to be right there and tended to him imiadiatly until the ambulance arrived. Witness say he was not speeding or driving recklessly, but no one can say for sure what happened. I am still trying to find out more but I can't reach familly members and the hospital is saying very little at this time to any one who is not direct familly

The good news is that my Garmin Zumo 550 arrived today. The bad news is that it arrived about 2 hours after I left. That's life. My son called to tell me that it had arrived but Eileen and I had already left for our 4 day anniversary vacation. It gives me something to look forward to when I get home though. Except for all of that: HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL MY VENTURERIDER FRIENDS!

Maybe not for some of you yet, or perhaps never for others, all depends on where you live I guess, however, it has arrived for me. I was on the way to Renton WA with my big rig , driving thru Billings Montana ,when I got the supprise visit of a foot of snow. I don't scare easily but I knew this was nothing to fool around with. Blowing snow (30 mile an hr winds), made it very hard to see anything. I'm happy to report that I made my destination. Just not looking forward to my return trip to Minneapolis, which brings me right back through that mess. Well, to all of you, STAY WARM, BUNDLE UP, WINTER IS HERE!!!

However, ALL the chrome was corroded, the new carbs arrived unusable [Yamaha engineer said they are at 200k miles]. It was sent to FL port running perfectly & well covered & supposedly in a crate with 2 cages in good shape? Buyer isn't happy. It left here in excellent shape. I even had to ride it to the main highway to the transport truck. Buyer made ALL shipping arrangements. These pics are 3 days after he picked it up at the harbor. Something went REAL wrong. The #2 cylinder wouldn't fire & the 98% bike arrived as nearly junk. Any Ideas?

At our new state of residence Nv,Las Vegas. current temp is 51 F We went through the snow and cold and saw many wrecks and arrived safely. That is the important part. We had a couple of close calls and it never ceases to amaze me that when the temp is at 32 F or below and the roads are snowy and wet why people think they can drive 70mph. I mostly think it natures way of passive aggressive natural selection but the trouble with that is that those idiots seam to take others out with them. We are excited about our new place to live, more riding time and new places to explore with the great people we have met here and the new ones to come. We will mis our friends and riding buddies we had in Mn and hope that if there looking for a little winter vacation they keep us in mind. We have arrived...........................Ron

The shirts have finally arrived, I am sorry those of you that ordered shirts had to wait, but my vendor was down for a while, but much to my surprise they arrived today. I will be getting them out soon, along with the patches that were ordered with them. I have also added a little something extra to each one, something left over from Vogel 2006. ENJOY!!!!!

After two weeks, and six operations, I was allowed to leave the hospital today. My next doctor's visit won't be for a week, so I am thankfully allowed to just rest at home. I want to thank all of you for your messages of support, public and private. While I have never been the most emotional guy on the planet, your prayers and well wishes have touched me very deeply and have helped me to change the way I view life overall. (and for the record, I'm not on morphine now Thank you all once again. Jim
