  1. Hi All I Just wanted to thank everyone at the Maint. Day. I had an outstanding time meeting everyone and learning so much about the RSV. You guys taught me a lot and I greatly appreciate it. Have a great weekend everyone. Vince. Orlean1
  2. Jeff has a good option for you. you can also look at an upgrade on your windshield. One with better optics. I ride with a F4 tall windshield and look through it. Very clear optics and the the rain beads away below 40 and streams off above 40 on the RSV so even in rain you can see pretty well. Im 6'4" and 270 so when there is a lot of wind I still don't feel it moving the shield or moving the bike.
  3. Hi Freebird. Am I missing it or I need the address? Thanks Vince
  4. Hi All Does anyone have the procedures for the changing the air filters on a gen 2? thank you in advance Vince.
  5. Rick Butler,Rick_Butler@verizon.net look under classifieds and you will find him. He modified mine during Christmas. Just took first LD of the year. 100% better than the stock. With stock I was good for about 3 hours then pain. Took 2 800 mile trips this weekend. got a solid 9 hours before I had to squirm but even at that point there was no pain just finding a new comfortable spot. I also added some kuryakan long horns that added some extra relief. Rick does a very nice job and very affordable. I would advise getting both seats done at the same time. After the wife felt mine, now she wants passenger seat done. and also order the seat nuts which make it easier for taking on and off the seat. Rick is 2 thumbs up.
  6. I live in Northern Ohio and as long as the road is not frozen I ride. The potholes are numerous but I use that to home in on my swerving, braking, and analyzing skills. As far as the road salt I think thats more of a personal choice. I might wash my ride 1-3 times a year because i would rather just ride but some others will wash a lot more. In either case if you wipe off the corrosive elements you will be fine. I put 25K on this bike last year.
  7. Hi Tbetty In your opinion is the vent worth it or did the rain coming through the vent negate the benefits of having it. Also, with the vent open is there a good amount of air flowing through and does that introduce any buffeting at highway speeds. thanks Vince.
  8. I just destroyed my saddlebag and fender 2 weeks ago with the same issue. $2414.00 in damage. I filed a claim with my insurance company and just waiting for the parts to come it. The agent was wondering why the bags were so much. I kept explaining to her these were not leather flop over saddlebags. However, when the claims adjuster came out to the house, he completely understood why the cost was so high.
  9. Hi All I've searched several post. I see a lot of people have relocated their fuel filter but I haven't been able to find the steps to do it. Does someone have the steps on how I should relocate my fuel filter or direct me to the post that has the step by step instructions. Thanks in advance Vince
  10. 27 miles each way. most of it highway about 30 minutes each way. The two best parts of my day:mustache:

  12. Hi All For those of you who have the F4 windshield can you tell me how it performs in steady medium rain. Does it bead off so you can see clear or do you have to goose neck to see.
  13. it was more in the technique of unscrewing it. You gotta give us ole spring suspension guys a break.
  14. The pump i have is the right one. I found out operator error was happening. I hate that when it happens:rotf:
  15. Im 6'4 weigh 270 running dunlops E3 with 41f and 40 rear. Running 4.5 each in front shocks and 45 in the rear shock with the oem windshield. Ive been getting pretty consistent 40 - 42 mpg. 30 miles to work each way 5 days a week 25 of the miles are highway and cruising at 73 - 75.
  16. I have about 600 miles on my New E3s and have been experiencing the same thing. I run 41 front and 40 back and 45 in the rear shock and 5 on the front shocks. I came from a VTX with metzlers that I would lean over pretty hard. I have had that sensation also that the back end was coming out from under me. I don't know if its because I came from springs to a air suspension or the bike is actually coming out from under me. I've talked with a few people and wondered if I'm trying to make a 800 lb + bike perform like a 600 lb bike. I'm also interested in hearing others feedback on this. I'm using the recommended size for both front and back.
  17. ok. Ill see if my neighbor knows tomorrow then probably get a progressive. Looking forward to your maintence day in June.
  18. Hi Freebird. It was a harley pump not progressive that i got from my neighbor. I don't think it was a zero chuck.
  19. Hi All I have a suspension pump for my RSV. I think im using it wrong. I put the air into the shock however when I go to unscrew the pump im to slow and all the air rushes out. What is the trick to unscrewing the pump without losing all the air. I pump the rear shock up to 47 and by the time i got the chuck undone it measured out to 42.5 lbs. Im only pumping the fronts up to 7lbs to scared of blowing the bladders but by the time i get it undone im down to 0lbs. Any advice. Thanks in advance Vince
  20. Hey Freebird were coming to our first one this year. Just got the rsv about 1 month ago. Loooking forward to it
