  1. Thank you Condor. If there is any change plz send me an email and I will PayPal you right away. Option 2: Do you think there may be a chance I can piggy back on your order if I contact your supplier directly? It might be worth a try even if it costs a few cents more. Can you provide me the contact info? Regards.
  2. hey, great idea Any chance I can still get on the list? I know you already ordered but if I paypal you ASAP any chance you can up the order? Thank you
  3. Someone on eBay was looking for an '83 parts bike per link at bottom of forum to ‘86 Venture. Can't contact that person through eBay site but it just so happens that I have one. Maybe someone knows the person. Bike is a 1983 plain Venture with 74,000 kilometers (about 46,000 miles). I was planning to restore it but have decided that I am parting this bike out or may sell as complete unit. Mechanical: This bike is complete and everything works. I haven't taken anything apart as prospective buyer may want to hear it run etc. The motor starts right up and runs strong but does need a tune up. Bike runs through all gears well. 2nd gear seems good even under acceleration (can't tell if repaired). Clutch is good. Battery is new this spring (but can't be shipped). Frame looks good. Suspension still held air. Wheels spin true. Rear-end final drive appears sound. Tires are worn. The wiring harness is intact and complete. Good radiator and cooling system looks OK. Instrument cluster is fully operative but lens cover is cracked. All chrome parts are dull and aluminum surfaces are weathered. Sorry, I need the exhaust crossover. Mufflers are rotted out. Brake controls are operating but need new pads. There is a brand new ignition switch with keys. Body: All three pieces of luggage are complete and have no cracks. One bag has small chip on backside. Upper fairing is complete but left side has a couple of broken tabs with a clean crack on underside that can be easily repaired. If requested, I can repair same to customer's satisfaction. Left lower fairing is cracked. Left inner fairing is broken. Both left and right consoles are badly broken containing Alpine car radio as replacement (assume as junk). As this bike is a plain Venture it lacks CLASS system and CB. All lights and lens are intact. The chrome center of left-side cover is marked from shifter. Chrome on both mirrors is marked on outside edge. Have both single and rocker type shifters. Frames for driver running-boards need re-chroming or painting. Passenger pegs. No engine guards. Gas cover has missing lock. The engine can only be sold as complete unit including tranny. A full set of photos are available for interested parties. Best offers decide.
  4. Thank you for the help and suggestions. I am wondering if there is anyone else with suggestions on what to try?
  5. Thanks guys. Here goes: The after-market intercom unit is a "IMC Motocom MIT 100." It is new and fully functional as a helmet intercom. Although described as being able to hook to nearly any audio device, instructions did not come with the unit nor are they on the company's website. It has a three contact 3.5 mm plug which after hounding the distributor ( finally I called direct), I am led to believe has the Mic contact as the outermost and the Speaker as the middle contact. They didn't explain what the last contact was for but I am assuming it is a common ground. There is a six pin mini Din plug on the black box that connects via a Y extension cable to the PTT switch which has a 4 pin mini Din plug. The other end of this Y cable is the 3.5 mm referred to above. In addition the MIT 100 has a female 3. 5 connector marked audio as well as another 3.5 male plug that I believe is intended for cel phones. The CB radio is a "Cobra 19 DX IV" which I chose for its compact size but full functionality and full external antenna. Yes, I bought the adapter cable to hook the MIT-100 to a CB radio but this is for hand-helds and so I returned it as the Cobra is a mobile unit. As mentioned before, the Cobra has an external speaker jack. and the four pin mike connector is easily accessible from inside in order to make up a patch cord. With the microphone disconnected from the microphone jack, the CB radio has no audio. As noted before, the manual indicates that the four pins serve as TX, RX, Audio and Shield. I tried hooking it up via some jumper cables and got audio via the TX and Audio connections to the speaker and what I referred to earlier as the common connection or the innermost contact on the 3.5 mm plug on the MIT-100. This setup disables the built-in speaker on the CB, which I believe is correct but somehow this hookup doesn't sound right. No amount of fiddling could get the PTT switch to activate the helmet speaker. The only thing I didn't do was buzz the extension cable and PTT switch for connectivity. I hope this explains things a bit more clearly. Again thank you for your assistance.
  6. There must be a few electronics wizards out there. I have a IMC Motorcom 100 intercom on my Venture. This unit works fine in intercom mode but can also handle Ipods, cel phones, VFR and CB radios. I have added a Cobra mobile radio. The unit is mounted into the space where the tape deck normally goes. There is a remote handlebar PTT button. The problem is that the intercom unit has a three contact 3.5 mm stereo plug that serves as both the mike and speaker connectors. The CB radio has an external speaker mike and a standard four pin microphone jack consisting of TX,RX, Audio and Shield. I can get speaker sound to the intercom using one contact to the TX pin. No combination of pin-outs seems to make the transmit work through the helmet mike. I trust there is a simple answer. Can you please indicate how this unit should be wired? Thank you
  7. Hey Boss Hogg! Since a few other threads on the Super Brace complain about fit and supplied bolt length, I'm thinking about making my own like you suggested. Be nice to see what yours ended up looking like. Please do send us a picture and tell how it worked?
  8. A couple of members have mentioned how a fork brace improves handling. They refer to the item as a Super Brace. I tried to get one but both bike shops I went to could only locate one for a Gold Wing. Can somebody give me the name of the manufacturer, supplier or any other details so I can order one locally? Many thanks
  9. Thank you very much, guys! Your help is very much appreciated. I will be getting a set of those progressives. - next the exhaust crossover...
  10. Looking for some expertise. The bike is an 84 with about 55,000 miles on it. I seem to bottom out when hitting a bump especially with two up even when the air pressure in the front fork is set to 16 psi. Some suggest going to progressive springs. Any comments would be helpful. How much are these units worth? There are a couple of threads on front fork springs but none on the anti-dive mechanism. The manual says they cant be overhauled. Has anybody had a go at these units? All advise would be appreciated. Thank you
