  1. My 07 TD is exactly the same calibration as yours. Go figure. I don't get as to why Yamaha purposely calibrates the speedo's as such. No rhyme or reason to me.
  2. This is what I ended up doing George. Thx for advice & replys to all the brothers on my post. I did go with Rotella T6.
  3. I too was having a "getintoneutral" issue, however once I swapped my clutch plates & frictions out due to 5th & 4th slipping, the shifting into neutral went away. Just my 2c. Bobby
  4. Thx anyway Don, however between the parts list, service manual, or owners manual, nobody indicates where they go. Grrrrrrr...
  5. Woops! I'm bad. I'm about to do a clutch job & forgot there's a difference with two cover bolts. I don't remember the location to the two longer cover bolts. Can someone help me out? Bobby
  6. Thx much for your reply. I did swap out my plates over the winter with Barnetts plates, however I stayed with OEM spring. I think I'm going to eventually switch over to the Barnett pressure plate with all the good reviews I've read. Thx again.
  7. Thx for all the feedback. Great info & options. You guys rock!
  8. Thx Jeff. The oil stated it was Mobil1 engineered for European technology. Living in Canada (Windsor, Ont.) I don't recall ever seeing a "Mobil1" specific for motorcycle or wet clutch application. I suppose I'll have to shop around for an alternative oil, opposed to only sticking with Amsoil, which can get rather pricey ($15. Cdn per liter) but all in all it's the performance that's the overall priority here.
  9. I'm 1/3rd up the sight glass with the bike straight & level. By using Mobil1 would this cause clutch slippage. It doesn't specify whether or not it's for wet clutches so I changed back to Amsoil. I'll take it out tonight for a scoot & we'll see what happens.
  10. My 07 TD is for some unknown reason to me, dripping oil from the vent tube exiting underneath behind the oil pan. Not a lot, but enough to raise concern. I've recently done an oil change with Mobil1 0-40 & had trouble shifting into neutral when idle, along with a little slippage in 4th & 5th, so I switched back to Amsoil 10-40. Over the winter I swapped out my clutch to Barnett clutch. Looking for opinions. Bobby
  11. I recently ordered a new pair of throttle cables from my dealer. No luck. Then my dealer calls Yamaha only to hear that they discontinued one of the cables. I have an 07 Tour Deluxe & can't believe Yamaha would simply discontinue this replacement part. It's a "have to have" part. I can get one of the cables part number 4XY-26311-00-00. The other cable part number 4XY-26312-00-00 is the one I can no longer get from Yamaha. Any suggestions???
  12. Also found out that the battery cable to the charge system was loose which would explain the radical readings. So now I picked up a new battery along with tightening the cable, I believe I finally got the issue resolved. A HUGE Thx. goes out to you guys here @ VentureRider. Bob
  13. Being over here in Windsor, Ontario Cdn. would anybody know where I can get one & approx. $$$
  14. Well, the results are in. When I read the battery after charging again: Without starting, it reads 12.5 With it running @ about 2000 rpm, I get 13.1 to 13.8 I disconnect the negative while running, it keeps on running. Now the question is, do I get a new gel battery, or regular battery? Thank you to all my "gearhead friends",...that replied. You guys are awesome . Bobby
  15. Awesome feedback. Thx. much, I will do that. Bobby
  16. HELP!......'07 RSTD & bought a new battery exactly one year ago. Problem now is it won't hold the charge. I get out for a short 30minute ride then go to restart it, & it's a gamble if there's enough juice to kick it over or not. By the time I get it home, there's not enough there to turn it over, so I charge it back up to go again. With the battery only a year old, what are my chances of defective battery @ this time?...or could it be the charging system. Is there a way to check? Bobby
  17. I suppose you could call it the Carribbean of Canada, living in the most southern part, Windsor, Ontario, right across the river border of Detroit Michigan. This truly is an awesome web site. I've learned so much from a great bunch of people.
  18. Okay, okay, I know there's others out there wondering so I'll step up to the dummy plate & ask for all of us embarassed members: WTF is "Sea Foam"?
  19. We're always stopping @ a DQ or Timmies. Never pass up an ice cream stop. It's always on the adgenda to end a ride after a Meet & Greet. It's even better finding new friends to share that ice cream. Some day we'll meet up from here:bighug: which is always something to look forward to.
  20. 'eh, no problum mun! I don't see anything negative regarding a Dyna3000 & I believe it would give me better throttle response. better excelleration. So with that said, I'll keep on blowing by the first gens with a smile:rotf:.....lol. Let the games begin:whistling:
  21. Thx. much. ("put a first Gen under it?)....made me laugh:rotf:
  22. I've been told that the best improvement that I could do for my '07 RSTD is to swap out my ignition. Wachya think? Any truth to this suggestion? If so, what would you recommend?
  23. Great idea. I too can become paranoid when leaving the "pride&joy" alone say in Niagara or places as such. It's when one of the members post that they have heard of such an incident that makes us run out to make a cheap purchase. Not to mention the owner of the bike now has no lock on his/her gun:shock3:....LOL Thx. for the tip
  24. My cruise control kept failing for some unknown reason. Was driving me nuts trying to figure it out. I ended up stumbling across a post somewhere in the forum saying that it could very well be the leather streamers that so many of us install on our clutch & brake levers. Just the resistance thru the wind when travelling is enough to cause cruise control failure/interupt. No problems now that I changed the streamers to the handle bar. What a great info forum.... Bobby
  25. I too did the slashed HD's on my '07 RSTD, & drilled out w/6 holes (1/2") in the tale end, however, I get lots of backfire on deceleration. I checked around for vac leaks but it looked tight to me. Dunno! Maybe mine could use the rejet. Whatchya think? Bobby
