  1. You might want to contact Jonesy before you make up your mind. He built a tri-wing and rode it for several years. He can give you the pros and cons.
  2. I beg to differ. Engine braking does not do any damage to the engine. Ask any truck driver. It is always recommended to down shift and let the engine slow you down. It is also safer. Riding your brakes will heat them up and cause brake fade. Use your brakes as little possible to control your speed on your down hill ride, let the engine do the work.
  3. I have done both. I can speak from experience that three wheels are more stable and handles much better then a add on kit. Add on kits also eat up rear bike tires in a hurry. They also don't stop well in a panic stop. They will skid much further then a 3 wheel trike with full rear brakes. Been there, done that. Very scary! Feels like your on ice. However, you do have the security of not having to worry about laying down your bike. That's about the only plus for the add on kit. But if you can't afford a real trike, and you want to continue riding, then its really the only alternative. Whatever it takes to keep the wind in your face.
  4. Looks good. now you need to but something on it and ride.
  5. Hannigan is not a DIY kit. it has to be installed by a certified installer.
  6. behind your right floorboard.
  7. Robin is over here singing " I'd like to kill him, kill him" Very catchy tune. She also said something about Framing you... or was that braining you?
  8. The voyager kit was my first attempt at switching to a trike. Took a lot of tweaking and adjusting to get it right. Your right about the instructions, just throw them in the trash. Best bet is the internet. A lot of good info from people who have this setups. Just keep working with the pre-load and tire pressure till it handles the way you want it to.
  9. J&M is the stock set up. They work ok, but I have gone through 3 patch cords in the last 3 years. Sound quality sucked until we installed mic mutes. They eliminate the noise from the wind on the open mic's. The CB's on these bike are not the best, due to very short range. Some people have had better luck with the range then other. Seems to be hit and miss.
  10. adjustable ATV shocks may work if the right size.
  11. Venison stew is very tasty, Who will know:confused24:
  12. probably progressive shocks. and yes they are big $$$. You can probably use any coil over adjustable shock that is the same length and same bolt hole diameter. Take pictures and get all the info you can from the existing shocks and contact progressive. maybe they can match them. let me know what you come up with, so when its time to change mine out on the 99 motortrike RSV I'll know where to go.
  13. Partszilla or other after market part stores on line. also pinwall used parts.
  14. I gotta RETIRE! work SUX! never enough time to do anything.
  15. If you like the color yellow, there is one for sale right here on our classifieds. He is asking $17500.00 and it has everything. If I had the $$ I would buy it.
  16. Been there, done that. But only with blood pressure med's. still not a good thing to do.
  17. I have the hard copy manual and according to the manual you have to remove the engine to remove the heads. This is not to say you can't find an alternative to doing this. However in my experience it never saves time or frustration to use short cuts.
  18. Go to the VR tech section and you can view the 2nd gen tech manual. there is an engine removal chapter that will take you through step by step.
  19. Try bypassing the pump first, see if it will runs. If it does then you know for sure it's the pump. The pump will not click if the carb bowls are full.
  20. Yet, it sounds just like a 1st gen.
  21. We just rode to NC. and back with the hitch rack mounted and it blocked the plate. Had no problems. Just figure if cars and trucks can get away with it, so can I.
  22. Where did you find the new engine?
  23. very cool, it is now in my favorites. thanks
  24. I did not know that cuss words are automatically bleeped here on VR:confused24: and anyway ***** is not a cuss word. Aren't we being just a little over the top with this. Just saying.
