    I'm 90% sure I can make it. It won't be much of a ride since I just moved about 13 miles from there.

    I tried them and didn't like them. They interfered with my favorite road peg position and it felt like they were just kicking up more heat on a hot Texas day.

    I hated those. Sold them on ebay. They interfered with my favorite peg position on my road pegs and the sent way to much Texas heat up on me.

    I have never noticed a chrome issue. I guess sunglasses work for me.

    I have been riding on a sheepskin over beads seat for about 4 years. Made from $8 Walmart car seat beads, two $5 sheepskin washmitts and the non-slip padding from kitchen drawers. I purchased the Ultimate Beadrider last year and use it now during the summer with the same sheepskin over it. No numb-butt or itchy-booty since.

    Which tells me that I am only $1.90 away from attending a maintenance day.

    This was done on the Grand Parkway Toll Road west of Houston (Katy, TX about 2 weeks before that section of road was opened. (about 2 miles from my house) The road that has the highest speed limit in Texas is the toll road from Austin to east of San Antonio. I think it is posted as 85mph now.

    Loving the new shield!! 3" shorter, 4" wider, slightly tinted. Much better than stock, even for my wife behind me. I forgot how nice it was to see over the windshield. The wider width makes the lowers look more normal to me. Only problem now... I didn't put on the wider windshield lowers that came with the new shield because I could not bring myself to take off the chrome lowers.     Too late now but I noticed you're in Houston. Next time try Global Motorsports ( http://www.globalcycles.com/ ). I've had them beat Dennis Kirks price and only charge me $35 to put them on. (maybe $45 now) Probably order another set of Avons before my May ride.

    Clearview-3" shorter, recurve, tinted with no vent should be here next week. Pretty excited about it as I am tired of looking thru the factory shield.

    Next question: I've read one negative and a couple positive about the recurve. Anyone else have an opinion on it? I want to look over the shield as I anticipate fog and moisture on the upcoming ride.

    Just looked at the Clear View Shield website. It says my stock windshield is 18.5" but when I measure from the bottom of the windshield, just below the chrome strip and bolt, I get a little over 19.5". Am I supposed to measure from the top of the chrome mounting? I want 3 inches below where it is now, not 4. Got to order this week, $34 discount going on right now to start the new year. Don't want to miss that.

    I use Klipsch noise suppressing ear buds in my helmet. Crossing thru Oklahoma I noticed I was getting bad gas mileage on the turnpike. Couldn't hear my bike, I was in 4th gear. Throttle response was great though! I was looking for a Bluetooth speaker that would fit in my cup holder but found nothing I liked.

    and all this time I thought that whining was the supercharger!! I wear Blockade ear buds when on long rides. I can't hear whining, Khromewerks Exhaust or the wind. (That explains riding halkf the state of Oklahoma in 4th gear)

    Test road the RSV, bought the RSTD. Half of the guys I ride with have / had touring bikes and unless we were riding long distance they got where they wouldnt ride. I figured with the RSTD, I could tour and play. Perfect choice for me. Now I tour more than them and have no problem putting around locally. Being able to remove the windshield is really nice also. The Mustang seat and the Ultimate Beadrider makes 12 hours in the saddle a breeze.

    I like that place. The burger is the best thing Ive tried there.

    I would like to think my fighting days are over and so I try to ride bikes fast enough to leave my problems behind. Besides, the punches to my kidneys from my wife riding with me reminds me of that when I do show a little road rage.
