  1. Nice job!! Looking good!. How about swinging on over to Michigan......
  2. I did an iron butt ride, 1500 miles in 36 hours a couple of years ago with a crazy old bird.........somebody dozed off while cruising up I-75.......... Now myself, I used to do the Michigan Midnight Ride. Leaves out of Rockford Michigan at midnight, ends in St Ignace the next morning. Just the other side of Gaylord it me. Double vision, could hardly keep my eyes open. At that time I had already been up 26 hours straight. Pulled over got a cup of hot coffee and back at it. I did not make it to bed until the 42 hour mark later that afternoon. NEVER AGAIN.
  3. If I could afford to do it, I would. You won't get any harassment from me.
  4. Food for thought on the Kawasaki. I personally really like the bike. I keep looking at the Voyager myself. I find them on Ebay at dealerships quite often. New old stock, usually one sometimes two years old, zero miles for about 12k to 15k. I took one a few years ago on a 40 mile test ride during a demo days. I did not want to get off. Sure there are some things not as nice as a Harley or a Venture on the bike, but the same can be said of the others also. I think the Voyager handles great. I was dragging the floorboard in the corners like crazy. Hopefully you get something.........I got a hankering for a 3 day round trip to Maine for a lobster dinner........................
  5. Nice looking pup!
  6. I like the looks of the trailer, but I do not believe in putting pets in small trailers and towing them behind a motorcycle. I realize that it has windows, but it has to get hot in there. Plus for me there is the safety issue. It is one thing that my wife and myself consciously getting onto a motorcycle knowing the dangers, but the pups have no say so. I would have a hard time dealing with the fact that I put my baby in a trailer and something happened to her.
  7. I had 20 rooms set aside. I think 5 have been reserved. Make sure you use the Group code if or when you reserve.
  8. There is usually a group of us that leave Friday morning and head down and take OH-2. Let me know and I can get you the info on where we meet. Or Ragtop and Carbonone can chime in here on this.
  9. I average atleast 11,000 mies or more. Depends on my riding habits such as twisting the throttle. I think I am around 8,000 on the current one.
  10. I believe that since there is a minimum wage that waitstaff should be paid that wage or more if they do a good job. But atleast minimum wage. Tips should not be factored into what they earn per hour. A tip is exactly that, a tip for doing a good job. Good restauraunts make a lot of money and can afford to pay the proper wage.
  11. Too me, that is a lot of weight. I mount and balance my own. Once the old tire is off, I put the rim on my balance stand and mark the heavy spot. When I mount the tire, I put the dot at that spot and check the balance. I think I have 3/4 ounce of weight on my wheels. I would have to check that for sure, but I am pretty sure that is where they are. That dot on the tire is really a reference, you may have to rotate the tire. But either way, there should not be old weights on there. They did it wrong.
  12. I am planning on being there, but I understand if you want to go to every other year. I have no issue with no catered lunch or raffle. Scaled down works, but ultimately it is your call boss man.
  13. Yes, sometimes I let myself get carried away. Now about them thar hot doggies..........................
  14. All this hub bub about whether or not to change a $6 oil filter. Leaves me scratchin' me noggin'
  15. It might be worth hopping on the scoot and riding down on Saturday morning and coming home that night. Maybe....just maybe.
  16. Oooooooo.......ooooooooo....someones stirring the pot.
  17. I agree. This is my opinion. Just an opinion mind you. Oil and a filter is cheap insurance. Replacing a motor is not cheap nor an easy task. If you have to ask the question, then it would be to your advantage to change out both. I worked with a guy...well until he was let go yesterday, that owns a 2013 Goldwing. He bought it as new left over model. He has never changed the oil and filter. It has been in there for 3 years since the bike was assembled. His reasoning to not change it is because he only has 1100 miles on the bloody thing. I tried to explain that oil filters are basically paper elements inside. Over time, they degrade, become soft and I for one would not take the chance that the filter may break apart under oil pressure and send particles through the engine. Plus with the filter sitting a lot of that oil has drained out possibly hardening the particles stuck to the sides of the elements, which would reduce the filtering capabilities of the filter. OR....I could just be over thinking things. My wife put less than 500 miles on her Honda Shadow last year and it is getting a new filter and fresh oil this weekend. Just is not worth taking a chance.
  18. Shaking my head as to why you would use peanut butter. I am truly hoping your kidding......but if not.....Turtle Wax Ice wax is great on plastic and rubber. As it wears away it does not go blotchy. I use it on my vehicles twice a year. Once in the spring and a double coat in the fall for winter. Besides Turtle Wax, there are plenty of other products better suited for a project such as this. If you did actually do this.....I think your going to have a rodent and possibly a bug problem with that truck. Even if you cannot smell it, they can.
  19. My father inlaw does not have luck with motorhomes. His last one they were out west someplace, I cannot remember where, pulled in someplace and caught an overhang on a building.......literally ripped the whole top off. I mean it was gone !!. Unbelievably, the insurance company fixed it. They spent the following 1 1/2 weeks in a motel while it was fixed. 2 years later.....going up I-75 through West Branch he caught a heavy crosswind......rolled it. They no longer have a motor home.
  20. Those sound much better than my Sampson Turn outs.
  21. Do mean in the lower cowl that wraps around the air cleaner by the radiator?
  22. And yes, I have checked the fuses in the main box. Nothing in there for the aux power outlet and all of those fuses are good as well as the main fuse to the battery.
  23. According to the wiring schematic there is a 5A fuse for this jack. For the life of me I cannot find it inside or outside of the fairing. I continuity checked it to outside of the tank and it checks fine, so I assume I am checking after the fuse....I cannot find that sucker. Anyone know where it is at?
  24. Looking forward to seeing you.
