  1. OK ----All is well and working as they should. Reversing the polarity was the answer. I still don't understand how they worked with the battery tender but would not work the same way hooked up to the bike wiring. I suppose it has to do with the circurity on the bike. ANYWAY A BIG THANKS TO ALL. THIS ONE DEAL WAS WORTH MORE THAN THE COST OF THE SUBSCRIPTION.
  2. OK wheb you say polarity are you saying reverse the hot and ground wires?
  3. Thanks for the ideas. I have connected back to the charager and they work fine. Black wire ground and red wire power supply. I connect the wires to the battary and nothing. I cranked the bike to get more amps but didn't change anything. This really does not make sense but I can't think of anything else to try.
  4. I purchased an 06 Venture a few months ago and it came with some LED lights in strip form. I connected 4 strips together and wired them to my trickle charger and all were working. I then put them on my bike, found a wire that was only hot when the key is on and wired them in. I connot get them to work. I even connected them directly to the battery and nothing. Why will they work on the charger and not off the bike?? Any and all help appreciated.
  5. What happen to al gore and global warming????? Me thinks he shut his mouth for awhile and it went away.
  6. I know that is a real pain. I have been there done that only with my Daugher several years ago. I know most eveyone is against goverment health care but I have to say that since I have retired and went on medicare---along with a supplement neither my wife nor I have had any problem what so ever. I no longer have to deal with insurance companies. Medicare sets the amount they will pay, The doctor and hospitals accept it and the my supplement insurance picks up what Medicare doesn't pay. Hang in there I am sure it will get worked out.
  7. my prayers for you as well. I went thru that just over a year ago with my Mother in Law.
  8. I am also 5-10 and weight about 205. The size chart list the large as size 44 and the extra large as a size 46. I just couldn't fit into the large. The x large is still tight but comfortable.
  9. I just received my Cortech leather jacket from New Enough. These guys are a class act. I ordered a large size which turned out to be too small. I returned the jacket and re-order an X large. I returned the large, got the shipment and my credit for the return all within one week. These folks kept me posted via e-mail all week so I knen when they shipped the orginal, re-shiped the correct, when they received the return and when my credit card was creited. WOW---Great service and the Jacket is really nice.
  10. I would certainly be interested in this. I would really like to learn more about my bike and learn to do this work but I might want you to do it this time with me assisting. In my past life I have done quite abit of work on bikes but that was in the 70's these are a lot different. Sounds like a fun day Gene
  11. to: LilBeaver Thanks for the suggestions. I did recently change the oil and put in 10--40. A few days later I decided that maybe that oil was too light and replaced it with 20--50. I can't really tell any difference. I will take it to the Lewisville Dealer and have them check it out. According the the maintance schedule it is time to have the valve clearance chedked. Thanks again
  12. The noise is kinda tinny sounding so it could be something like that. I appreciate the suggestions.
  13. I woudn't describe the noise as a whine. It sounds more like a rattle noise than a whine, more like something loose at a particular RPM as it does this in every gear at a certain RPM but worse crusing at 65 MPH. That is the reason I was thinking timeing chain. I did not buy my bike in Lubbock. I actually bought it on E-Bay. I was concerned about that but the guy had a 100% rating. He turned out to be a really neat guy in Virginia. He is the guy that gave me this website. If you have any other ideas let me know. Thanks PS. I went by the Yamaha dealer in Gainsville, TX and was told there was no waranty so I am going to a dealer in Lewisville, TX and see waht they say. As far as pictures I will have to get some help with the technique to do that as I am not very computer literate.
  14. Thanks for the info. Hopefully as I become more familiar with the bike I will know what is normal for it and what is a problem Thanks again.
  15. I just bought a 2006 Venture so far I really like the bike. My concern is an engine noise at certain RPM when crusing--that is when I am not speeding up or slowing down. In 5th gear its about 65 MPH. The noise is also heard in othr gears at lower speeds but only when not speeding up or slowing down--just crusing along. My thinking is that it may be the timing chain. My bike has 26 M miles on it. This may be normal for the engine but since by other bike is a V Twin I am not sure what are the normal noises for this engine. Any help would be appreciated.
