  2. Hey, don't have a cow Swifty!! OK Red is always Positive for Batteries, and Black is always negative. No, do NOT connect them together!! Yes, connect the green to ground, it is the outside case which for radio interference they want physically connected to ground. It's an imperfect world we live in, so just connect the only green wire you have and then connect the pretend green wire as well...
  3. Nice rig in your portable shack George! Bet you could have a ball on Field Day with it! I unfortunately gave up ham radio when I went into the service back in '67...
  4. That tree had quite the electrifying experience, didn't it?? I got a charge out of those pictures...
  5. Well, if you bypass you will need another ring terminal on the battery connector, and for protection an inline fuse on the red line, but that's pretty much all. You can connect the black directly to ground someplace on the frame...
  6. Welcome aboard!! Try to make it to Marcarl's annual spring get together at the end of May and meet some of us in person!!
  7. It's never cold in south Florida...
  8. A lot of times the light bar can indeed be a problem with shorts if the wiring is not dressed properly. The usual culprit is wire chafing due to vibration. Don't ask how I know this...

  10. Doesn't sound stock! Stock is 2 mirror image pieces that you can adjust each side in and out, and the pieces that the grips are on adjust up and down by removing the rubber plug where they join revealing a nut on each side...

  16. OK Coolant level will be different for hot and cold, cold being lower. As for the oil level, when was it halfway, just after pouring the new oil in? If so, oil was trapped in the upper areas and has drained down. Also when you first put in the new oil it does not immediately make it to the oil pan, it takes a while to get completely there...
  17. The old gazebo on our deck that many of you members are familiar with was rusting out and we made a really good deal on a new hardtop one early this spring. As of today it is up and bolted down to the deck, with special thanks to Marcarl and Wizard765 for the assistance! Carl and Wayne, there is just enough clearance to remove the panel in question with nothing to spare! Thanks again guys!!
  18. We got ya beat for weather Dick, in Buffalo it's "If you don't like the weather in Buffalo wait a minute, it will change!" Glad you are all settled in with the new job Angel! It will make the run to Big Tom's M&E/Regional Rally a closer ride!
  19. How can you be here when you're there???
  20. Yes, odd that their 9 page fitment does not list it!! For all intents and purposes a 1999 and a 2013 are the same bike...
  21. Darn Annie, you're a few months late! Becky bought me Flanders bars for Christmas...
  22. Yup, I agree with you Jack! NY has car size plates as well! I'm thinking they just don't understand that there are trailers for motorcycles...
  23. Yes, a set of Kuryakin Longhorns would be an excellent choice for you. For risers, Barons makes a 1 1/2" set but it also brings the bars back a bit as well. If you loosen the clamps on the stock setup and remove the caps, you can rotate the handlebar assembly which will bring them up for you. The handlebars are splined under the caps...
  24. I'm about 95% sure those will fit Bob...
  25. Nice inexpensive setup! I use my Garmin with plug in microSD cards myself but that looks cool. Good luck with operating the remote while driving though...
