  1. Am converting my Venture Royal to trike (over past 3 years!) and have rear wheel, tire, fender, side bags (gold/tan), rear drive (not drive shaft). Plan to dispose of parts when I return to Ohio in April. Let me know if you can use anything. Yours for shipping and packing cost if any.
  2. Am in need of rear master cylinder for 1983 Venture Royale. Have ordered 2 from EBAY and neither work. Purchased two rebuild kits supposedly for my bike but both were same and neither fit. HELP! New master cylinders no longer available per local Yamaha dealer. If you have one that works, please take pity and contact me! Thanks. BobfromSWOhio PS: Check "Pay It Forward" for extra parts I have available.
  3. Have converted 83 venture royale to trike and and maybe able to find bolt if not sourced locally. BobfromSWOhio
  4. I need to rebuild the rear master brake cylinder on my 1983 Venture Royale. Is a rebuild kit available through a Yamaha dealer? Is there an aftermarket kit available? Thanks for any and all info. BobfromSWOhio
  5. Thanks for feedback but no toolbar.
  6. As you can tell from my initial aborted post, I am basically computer illiterate. I have pics on my AT&T android smart phone but do not know how to download them to this forum. Help!
  7. About two months ago, I purchased an '83, low milage (18,500), NON-running Yugo --- no, Venture Royale. The bike is very clean but needs much TLC inluding a new windshield (delivered today), left-side mirror (still looking), new TDI (ordering thru Dingy). I am not sure how long it has sat w/o running but it turns over at least. We have added new oil and filter, air breather, antifreeze, spark plugs and assorted nuts and bolts. We plan to eliminate both the CLASS system and integrated brakes (KISS.) We have checked out the stator (which already has a cooler!) and regulator and these seem functional. We will add Progressive springs to the front and plumb the front brake cylinder to operate both front discs. When purchased, the carbs had been removed. We cleaned and synched them and can do final adjustment after they are installed. We were able to locate a 1986 Nissan 300ZX IRS rearend from a local junk yard and original wheels from another source. We inverted the differential, sealing the original vent and drilling out a new one. Both the front seal and rear gasket were replaced to assure no leaks. I have degreased and power washed the rearend with plans to sandblast and paint it. We have cut off/removed extraneous metal and plan to utilize motorcycle coil-over shocks to replace the much heavier original shocks and springs. The discs have been sandblasted with plans to replace all brake lines. I am fortunate in having a friend that is an expert bike mechanic and another friend that is an outstanding car mechanic. Both are used to working on older vehicles and actually repairing problems rather than just throwing on new parts to see what works. Also, I have to thank numerous fellow Venturerers for advice. Dingy has been super in chasing down the Ignitech electronics and Blueswade is a great souce of advice and encouragement. I hope to post pictures as we progress and, as always, I welcome any advice and suggestions.
  8. These are the "legs" on the front of the bike that hold the axle and top off at the triple tree. The term maybe "old school." Anyone know if these will fit my bike? If so, I would like to get them. Thanks.
  9. My '83 project is comomn along (slowly) but I need some assistance. Where can I locate the following for my "83 Venture Royale?: progressive springs for front down tubes? seals for same? air breather? stator cooling kit? I plan to order ignitech TDI right away and maybe looking for ignitor and upgrade regulator/rectifier. As always, many thanks. BobfromSWOhio
  10. Thanks for the updates on the electrical system. Any idea where to find a "stator cooling kit?" Hope you're wrong on that 2nd gear problem BUT will face that down the road, I guess.
  11. If yiu still have the windshield I definitely want it. Also, if you or anyone else lurking about, has a left mirror to fit an '83 (complete assembly) I need to find one. Thanks.
  12. I just purchased a 1983 Venture Royal with 18.499 miles actual. Problem is she has not run for the last couple years, carbs are off and known (?) problems are: bad CDI box, leak at oil filter cover, leak at water pump gasket, rear brake pedal locked (master cyl?) and probably mumerous others. Plastic is complete and in excellent condition. Seat covers are like new. Some rust on bolts and frames but has been stored inside. W/s totally "fogged." I hope to make friends and gain MUCH assistance as one of the newer members to this web. Numerous questions but to start: (1.) Any place to get a repair manual? Prefer used but will spring for new. (2.) Can I still buy new gaskets, filters and even mechanical parts and, if so, where? (3.) Best sources for used parts? From viewing this site and others and I must assume best source for knowledge of Fisrt Gen Ventures exists right here (major "kiss up" here, guys!) Also, due to wife's dislike of regular mc's, I plan to trike this bike after I get it running. Anyone on site ever trike a First Gen without using manufactured trike components? Great to find assistance in this area. Thanks in advance for any and all replies.
