  1. Jay, forgot about the sway bar! My thought was more so to shorten the entire stroke of the shock so it bottoms out about 1" shorter than it already does, which would also stiffen up the rear a tad... Jeff, that is exactly what it means! There will all together be 8 stud holes in the wheel.
  2. HAPPY Belated BIRTHDAY Jeff!!!
  3. Seeing you will pay that much for the kit alone, it's a good deal!!
  4. Voyager??? Uhhh, no thanks...
  5. In a word, YUP! If you go 16" then yes, 195 55 16 should be the 23" diameter that matches what stock was. If I go 16" I'm going 215 50 16 but if I go 17" it will be a 40 or 45 series... I'm looking to come as close to 24" as I can without going under. I may go even larger diameter but then I would have to consider putting some spacers on the shocks to raise the body slightly...
  6. ...or the coil breaking down! The coil pack is under the battery.
  7. There is a difference in the sequence of which carb gets balanced to the other first, but I don't know the sequence off the top of my head. The concept is the same, get all 4 sucking the same...
  8. OK specifically these were the rims I was looking at. http://www.ebay.com/itm/16-inch-chrome-Raceline-wheels-Acura-Integra-Honda-Civic-Si-Insight-Fit-4x100-/281221261663?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Wheels&hash=item417a17e95f&vxp=mtr All the other packages for 4 there is no price difference per rim. So now I'm considering 17" with 40 series tires... Jay thanks for your consideration about suspension travel, the only area of concern is the top and there is a ton of room there! I think Hannigan's concern is the speedometer error issue to which they went to great lengths to gear the rear ends initially to match the speedometer resulting in higher RPM's for the same speed as stock. The rationale there was probably from a legal standpoint so they wouldn't be considered liable for speeding offenses due to speedometer error. This is the main reason why I want to go to about 1" larger in diameter. That means 1/2 inch more from center at any point on the tire. One would hope that Hannigan did not design the trike with that close of a tolerance! Besides, I can always give the trike a California rake anyway as the trailer hitch is too low where it is!!!
  9. The only kit available for the 1st gen Venture is Triwing at present. In the past there were others but right now that's the only one. I'm considering turning my old 1st gen into a trike as well!
  10. Man I hear you on what the he77 does our insurance payments do when we end up paying so much anyways!! Glad to hear you have a friendly work force, it does make all the difference in the world!! Enjoy the return to a normal life!!!
  11. Hey Dan! Yes the 2nd gen can be intimidating especially at low speeds on rough terrain so I can understand the uncertainty that started your anxiety attack! Yes, I've been down myself and discovered I'm not invincible or unbreakable! And, as we get older our bodies can't seem to keep up with our minds and won't do what we think they can. You'll know when the time is right to master the new beast! Perhaps when it is drier and warmer, perhaps today, only you hold that answer. As far as your episode goes just remember it is a normal thing to experience a panic attack and all that happened is something triggered you to remember a bad experience. It happens to a lot of us, if not all of us at times. To this day I still have combat related episodes and it's been 44 years. The key is knowing what they are and that it is just your mind reminding itself of possible situations that could happen. Dragonslayer thanks for the insight to your screen name! I just assumed it meant you had been on the tail of the dragon more than once!
  12. Wish they had a picture of someone on the bike, I'm trying to visualize the riding position...
  13. Dragonslayer, you never cease to amaze me! Very interesting story! Now given the choice I would rather dive into the tornado shelter then tempt fate! If you, live in an area that it is in your best interests to build a storm shelter then by all means do so. The way I see it, life is a very precious gift from God and I am grateful for every day I'm given so I'm going to live accordingly. I strongly doubt that God wants me to tempt Him by dangerous actions just because He holds the time of my death. That being said, fiery motorcycle crash?? Not a bad thing to be doing what you enjoy at the time...
  14. Yup!! Retired means now you REALLY get to work!! Hope the honeydew list isn't too long, but remember it will now grow bigger... Enjoy the lifestyle!!!
  15. Nope, but I'm a member of the Retireds...
  16. Bottom line though, when your time is up, it's up!!!
  17. From our tech library, hopefully this will help you troubleshoot... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=42357 and this... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=62016
  18. You're preaching to the choir here but yes I second that!! Diamond R is terrific!!
  19. Thanks! Almost time to stock up for the year on Seafoam!
  20. Can't you tell from the wonderful weather outside??? And the good news? It's going to get colder the next few days...
  21. OK Silver T now it even makes sense to me!
  22. I'm with you there Eck!! Come Doomsday I'll be with my Savior in the clouds!!
  23. According to Hannigan, any offset from 35 mm to 40 mm works. Also, I now have CRX rotors and calipers instead of their IMHO crappy setup...
