  1. From our technical Read Only library. Kudos to Dingy for the excellent job on redrawing the schematics! http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=42358
  2. No problem Bob, I think I may have mentioned it in either a PM or the other thread. Yes I want the neck pieces, and may or may not be interested in extenders depending on results...
  3. Nope!! I am at a point where I WANT mine to wear out so I can replace the crappy rims with better ones, and switch to 16" and tires that are about 1" bigger in diameter...
  4. Hey Silver T, we know him, he is anal about his bike!! That is not a bad thing...
  5. I'm running 40 up front and 22 - 24 in back...
  6. That could have been what I was thinking of at the time. I owned several MG's back in the day. Also I was thinking on the car side of the adapter, not the trailer side...
  7. Hey Mark! Glad for you! Question, don't they use salt on the roads there?? I don't take mine until rain washes the salt away, but here in NY they use a LOT of salt...
  8. Uhhh, type?!!? Sometimes thinking optional...
  9. Uhhh, OK Jeff, brain fart I guess...
  10. Hey Coop, did you ever find out if the choke side of the RSTD and the RSV are the same? Seems to me the RSV choke is not in the middle like the RSTD...
  11. ...or you could be buying another sick engine!
  12. For some insight Jonas, a 4 wire system sends 12 volts to both the left and the right turn signals when the brakes are applied. the ground is turned on and off to make the light turn on and off for turn signals. For normal turn signal operation 12 volts is applied to either the left or right turn signal and as with the condition of brakes, the ground is switched on and off for that side. The 5 wire system to 4 wire system adapter merely makes that same conditions. You can probably find an adapter in your country at any auto parts store or trailer supply store. Most US cars are 4 wire whereas most Japanese and European cars are 5 wire...
  13. Holy old thread, eh Camos?!!?
  14. Jonas, what you need is a 5 wire to 4 wire trailer light adapter to get all functions. Hoppy makes one for around $30...
  15. Looks great Jonas!! If you use a relay to drive the horns they will probably be even louder! The RSV has no horn relay. You use the wires to the stock horn to trigger the horn relay, and have a heavier wire coming directly from the battery and fused with a 10 amp fuse to one secondary contact of the relay and to the horn on the other secondary. I might look into one of those!
  16. You won't get any argument about that from us!!
  17. Yoopster!! Good to hear from you!! Sorry to hear about torn tendon, unfortunately they do not magically reattach themselves. Of course maybe by the time you are healed the snow may be finally gone...
  18. I'm sure Dingy will chime in soon, he's the local VMax expert!

  23. OK Good Morning Venture Riders here and abroad! This is it, post 10,000 here from me. I would like to thank Freebird for starting this fantastic site, and thank it's many members both present and past for the fantastic fellowship I have enjoyed for many years. Technically I hit the 10,000 mark a while ago but unfortunately there is no records from before the great crash. I think at that time I was over 1000 posts. It's been a great time here and we've been through good times and bad times together as a family. I have had the honor of meeting so many of you in person and look forward to meeting more of you as long as I can breathe and rise out of bed! OK Dano you were partially right, and Jay you may be right, I may be crazy but at least I'm having a good time!!! Pucster nice post! Gary good luck with the free membership, let me know how it works out! Larry you know me only too well! Mr Cupcake you're too young to remember the 60's, but of course anybody that says they remember the 60's is a liar or they didn't have a good time. Jeff, good one!! Ms. Taters I'll deal with you later, I know where you live...
  24. Yup!! now only one more...
  25. In 2 more posts I will hit 10,000!!!!!
