OK to do a proper rebuild it will end up costing waaay more than a good low mileage engine would cost. For starters a complete gasket set will run you around $250 or more... Do as Randy suggested and as long as the compression is good go with it as is. The usual oil leaks are valve covers, the seal for the clutch push rod, and sometimes an extruding o ring on the bottom of the engine which is obvious when you remove the oil pan. They generally need overhauling at 200,000 to 300,000 miles...

It has been noticed on 2nd gen rear brakes that one side tends to wear a lot quicker than the other on the rear pads. Make it routine maintenance to switch the rear pads around at 5000 miles or so...

Don, having been here since before the great crash of '06, I have seen people come and people go on this site but one thing that never changes is the spirit of this place!! We don't want or need any friction modifiers which are bad for the wet clutch. Been using diesel for years...
