  1. It's all about personal taste!! When I bought my '09 I also tried out a wing, didn't like riding position on it, the one I rode had all sorts of creaking plastic noises, it was more expensive and had a shorter warranty...
  2. Yeah, but, how many were MEMBERS? You can tell by going to the bottom of the page under "Forums."
  3. Darn Dennis, I just noticed the dates, and we are going to the Ontario Regional M&E, but I think we will be home when you are in Olean! We don't leave for Ontario until the 21st. So, let us know and we will try to meet up with you at Spragues! Who knows, a bunch of us might show up, Spragues Maple Farms is a great place to go!!
  4. Yah!! HE has risen indeed!!!
  5. Same thing here in Western NY state! My step daughter is into bicycling and is a Christian too!
  6. Yah!! Enjoy!! Saw one once in an episode of Fast And Loud setting in their garage in the background. Lots of really cool accessories out there to add on...
  7. Hell Yah Don!! I like pins!!!
  8. Firsrt Yamaha KI had was a 125 that never made it on the road while I owned it. The second was an XS500

  11. Well Dave, I can certainly understand!! I'm 68 and Becky is 73, so our riding days are numbered as well!! Becky has a hard time with anything over about 5 hours or so in a day, and riding alone is not as fun as it used to be! I sort of envision selling the trike in a couple of years or so myself. Mot sure what I'm going to do with the '84 project bike, waaaaaay more money invested in it that what it's worth! Anybody interested in a Hot Rod version of an '84 V Maxified VR???
  12. At 3 AM there were that many?!!?
  13. Ya know, it's only about an 8 hr or so ride for me, just might consider it!! Doubt Becky will come with me for this however, it's getting to be too much of a ride for her...
  14. The REASON why the front shocks are a lower pressure is because the fork seals can not tolerate higher pressures, as well as higher pressures are not needed with the front suspension. The rear, on the other hand is a typical air shock and is a self contained unit... Yamaha was concerned about the safety of operation when they designed the system. They feel adjusting the suspension while on the fly is dangerous and could very well cause an accident. I agree with Yamaha!
  15. I was sound asleep...
  16. Isn't Canada's first day of spring in July sometime???
  17. Darn Jeff, I thought maybe you would mention the Pi configuration for ripple filtering...
  18. I gotta agree with Raggy on this one! Unlike oil, filters don't deteriorate with age! Filters are usually good for 4000 to 5000 miles...
  19. Skin is actually an insulator too! Without the skin, it only takes a few mA to kill ya! So, never service a battery with cuts on your fingers...
  20. It's about time Carl...
  21. Great!! More neat stuff to bid on!!
  22. But even with a diode bridge you still have ripple! That's where capacitors come into play, they smooth out the ripple because capacitors resist changes in voltage levels. To super regulate AC to DC conversion, you also add a coil, or an inductor into the configuration to resist changes in current level. We cornfusing you yet Puc??
  23. Well, I do remember, and sometimes still do, testing 9 volt batteries by how "salty" they taste...
  24. Yup, sounds like a classic lint fire! Glad things didn't get worse! Glad you 2 are alive to tell about it and you have a home to sleep in tonight!
