  3. I am pretty sure all the MK2's had the metal impeller. I have seen them still for sale on ebay, etc...
  4. PS Jonas, yes Black Death IS available in the "Fifth" size bottle at one of our local Liquor Stores and I will pick up a bottle or two for you! Also, there will be a coulpe of bottles of "Gas Monkey Garage Cinnamon Tequila" for you to try. Just Google it for you that are clueless as to who Richard Rawlings is or what the Gas Monkey Garage is...
  5. OK getting back to the original post... Why yes Big Tom, there IS going to be a big shindig in Chaffee, New York on August 25th through the 28th, with people showing up early for the event on August 24th! Because there is soooooo much going on, I'll try to describe them to you one day at a time. Today I will start with the first official day of the event, Thursday the 25th of August! First thing in the morning we will wake the campers up, but not too early, and have breakfast at a place new to the Venturerider crowd, Strawberry Fields, where they serve GREAT breakfasts. Unfortunately, the restaurant next door to the event went out of business (yup, again) so we will have to go to the Strawberry Fields which is right around the corner. If you're into a good stroll before breakfast it is sort of walking distance, but for most of us it is better to ride up there. Here's their website... http://www.strawberryfieldsdining.com/ The rest of the morning, and afternoon is greeting the new arrivals as they show up. I need to tell you Big Tom, that there is absolutely NO registration fees whatsoever, but we do request that you sign up on the calendar so we know to expect you AND so we know just how many of you to plan food for!! Here's a link to the calendar... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?month=8&year=2016&calendarid=1&s= So, in the late afternoon, around 6:00 or so we will depart on a ride to the Charcoal Corral for dinner and a show, and a show! Why two shows, you ask?? Well, Thursdays at the Charcoal Corral is car show night, so for us motorheads there will be some nice looking vintage automobiles to look at! But the REAL fun is that the Charcoal Corral ALSO has a Drive In and we are going to go in and watch a movie on our motorcycles!! So pack your collapsible lawn chairs and an FM radio and enjoy the movie!!! Here's a link to the Charcoal Corral.. http://charcoalcorral.com/wp2014/ So, as you can see there is a lot happening just on Thursday, but wait, there's two days more!! I'll describe Friday tomorrow for you!!
  6. Well, just like Wild Bill I'll turn 69 next month too! Plan on riding at least a couple more years but I have to admit each year it gets harder and harder to get the old leg up and over...
  7. Maybe 1300 cc converts to 1500 in Canadian? Maybe "FI" is "For Information?" I like that aluminum accessory you drive the bike on to! Must be for taking the bike on the lake, looks like a boat hull to me...
  8. Yoa plastic polishing compound... u could try one of those headlight repair kits out there, they are mostly a plastic polishing compound...
  9. Yes, you either need the VMax side covers, or saw down the Venture covers, On the Venture the covers are partially on the head, on the VMax they come up only to the bottom of the head...
  10. Yes, but only for a short while...
  11. Ahhh!! Got it Bob, he bought a Mazda from Tampa Florida!!!
  12. What is this "WORK" you speak of??? Carl, my answer is "in the air"
  13. Any time Pucster!! Come on over to the WNY Rally! Or, maybe sometime this summer I should get to Mich...
  14. Is the Tampa Rotary like the Wankel??
  15. His video is for the VMax 1200 carbs but they are identical except for the jet sizes, and the choke mechanics are different...
  16. Yes, but is the bear a Catholic???
  17. Pucster, I'm thinking it's a natural talent you possess to get on double secret probation...
  18. Yes, Damon also has an excellent video on how to properly rebuild our carbs too!!
  19. OK so far all I found is this one of him on my deck...
  20. Might do something similar to mine but need to mask off where the LED strip lights shine through...
  21. Darn!! Now we need a picture of the RSTD bars along with the Flander's bars...
  22. Hey mirider come to the WNY rally next month and I'll let you try out my Hannigan! Then you can think about what yours would be like as mine started out as an '09 S too!
  23. yup!! Probably either your RLU, OR either your low beam is out or one of the two tail light bulbs is out (or a combination thereof). Yes, the white light will come on if one of the two tail light bulbs is out if I recall right, but haven't driven the '84 since '08... Another remote possibility is an issue with the reed switch that senses the total current draw for the lighting circuit but that is rare. Pull the lense off of the tail light first and see if both bulbs are lighting, then onward to the headlight...
  24. Ah, yes, I was referring to lowering the front!! The easiest way is with the 130 tire but then again lowering the forks is cheaper but it is very important to make sure the forks are as equal distance as humanly possible...
  25. The Reserve Lighting Unit (RLU) is a black box about2" x 3" with several wires coming out the end, and is mounted on your front fairing frame in the middle top behind all those relays across the front of the fairing frame. It's function is to detect if and when your low beam is burned out and automatically switches over to the high beam and lights the white light on the dash. If your high beam was not lit when your low beam went out I would suspect it was indeed the problem source and possibly the source of your smoke. I agree with Black Wing though, the plug for the headlight often goes bad mostly due to corrosion leading in increased resistance resulting in the plug actually melting somewhat, so give it a good look see first, but by your symptoms, i agree with Pucster about it being the RLU. Not sure if they are still available new but they exist as used and come up on Fleabay quite frequently or check with Pinwheel parts in Ohio, they are a pretty big motorcycle boneyard and are reputable but IMHO a little high on their prices but not really ridiculously so...
