  1. Sho' is dark out there on the superslab with no headlight
  2. at Loves Truck stop in Batesville, MS. Anyone close that has a trailer? My charging system has quit working and the battery is completely dead.
  3. Can't say I noticed much, if any, difference in the RSV, but 3ozs in each of the 8" tires on my H/F Tag Along sure smoothed it out.
  4. Yeah RIGHT!!!!! :stickpoke::stickpoke::stickpoke: :crackup::crackup::crackup::crackup::crackup:
  5. Well they got the "3" right, so they are 1/4th correct! :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:
  6. Yammie-haw made a scooter... Saw this one in Brookhaven, MS this afternoon. Waited a bit but never saw the owner.
  7. I also added amber LED strips from AutoZone, but I cannot find the pictures. I thought I posted them too. I also put strips of aluminium foil behind them to act as a reflector. Found them, See Posts 12 and 16 http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=68018&highlight=Lights

  10. Just my but I would put them on a separate relay circuit, controlled by the headlight circuit. This way you would never have to remember to turn them off. Along this line if you really to you could wire a 3 position switch into the control wires (for the relay). This way, in one position the "burners" would never be on, in a second position, the "burners" would be on only when the headlight was on and the third position the "burners" would ALWAYS be on.
  11. Good thing to bring up (again)!!! :cool10: If you haven't checked those screws you BETTER!!! Even if they seem tight, it is a good idea to take them out and put a drop of thread lock (Locktite) on them!
  12. The Stebel air horn was the second addition I put on my '98. (The 30 LED tail light was the 1st.) I also bought the bracket from Carbon One, but did the wiring and installed the relay (Yes, you GOTTA have one!) myself. It has saved my butt several times!
  13. I put a used Voyager kit on my '99. Just a thought, but might be a good way to test her ability to ride. If it is too much for her you can always take it off. Trike on the other hand is a "one-way street" I've only got about $1750.00 in it including the H/F led lights I added.
  14. I like the Michelin Commander II on the rear of my RSV, wish they made one for the front! I also liked the Continental Milestone, except for the poor mileage. According to Continental, you can put them on either the front or the rear. I'm not a real aggressive rider, but for me the rear stuck well in the curves and grabbed really well on braking. I've not tried it on the front, but I didn't even get 10,000 miles out of the one I had on the rear.
  15. Looking to help a friend select a set of tires for her VTX 1800. It currently has Bridgestone Exedra tires on it. For the size that fits that bike there is not much choice other than the Bridgestones. I know to stay away from them on the RSVs but does anyone have any experience with them on a VTX?
  16. I knew something would come up!!! AND it DID! An unexpected major expense has raised it's ugly head and thus we are going to have to cancel the trip to Vogel this year. :crying:

  19. to the asylum!!! :cool10::cool10::cool10: 1. Pictures are required (or it didn't happen:no-no-no:) 2. There are no dumb questions, well maybe some dumb answers, although some may be right on!
  20. You might consider a shorter windshield or cutting yours down so you can just barely look over it. just my
  21. Constantly being broke and stuck in an unhappy marriage, a young husband decided to solve both problems by taking out a large insurance policy on his wife, with himself as the beneficiary, and then arranging to have her killed. A 'friend of a friend' put him in touch with a nefarious, dark-side underworld figure who went by the name of 'Artie.' Artie explained to the husband that his going price for snuffing out of a spouse was $10,000. The husband said he was willing to pay that amount but that he wouldn't have any cash on hand until he could collect his wife's insurance money. Artie insisted on being paid at least something up front, so the man opened his wallet, displaying the single dollar coin that rested inside. Artie sighed, rolled his eyes and reluctantly agreed to accept the dollar as down payment for the dirty deed. A few days later, Artie followed the man's wife to the local Costco Warehouse. There, he surprised her in the produce department and proceeded to strangle her with his gloved hands. As the poor unsuspecting woman drew her last breath and slumped to the floor, the manager of the produce department stumbled unexpectedly onto the murder scene. Unwilling to leave any living witnesses behind, ol' Artie had no choice but to strangle the produce manager as well. However, unknown to Artie, the entire proceedings were captured by the hidden security cameras and observed by the shop's security guard, who immediately called the police. Artie was caught and arrested before he could even leave the premises. Under intense questioning at the police station, Artie revealed the whole sordid plan, including his unusual financial arrangements with the hapless husband who was also quickly arrested. The next day in the newspaper, the headline declared. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (You're going to hate me for this...) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . "ARTIE CHOKES 2 for a $1.00 @ Costco" Oh, quit groaning! I don't write this stuff, I receive it from one of my warped friends!
