I bought the 04 in late 05 with 1,200 miles on it a guy bought it kept it a year traded it back in on a cruiser. It was originally black, I bought the green plastic new and put the black up. I've got it posted locally with a lot of interest also. I just came across the other bike at a price I couldn't walk away from.

  11. What engine do you have 3.0 V6 ?? depending on the year there was one with standard and one with metric freeze plugs if I remember correctly.
  12. Hope this helps Viewing Elk The best times to view elk are usually early morning and late evening. Elk may also be active on cloudy summer days and before or after storms. Enjoy elk at a distance, using binoculars or a spotting scope for close-up views. Approaching wildlife too closely causes them to expend crucial energy unnecessarily and can result in real harm. If you approach an animal so closely that it stops feeding, changes direction of travel, or otherwise alters its behavior, you are too close! Most of the elk are located in the Cataloochee area in the southeastern section of the park. The easiest way to reach Cataloochee is from Interstate highway I-40. Exit I-40 at North Carolina exit #20. After 0.2 mile, turn right onto Cove Creek Road and follow signs 11 miles into Cataloochee valley. Allow at least 45 minutes to reach the valley once you exit I-40. http://www.nps.gov/commonspot/images/clear.gifhttp://www.nps.gov/commonspot/images/clear.gif Last year a bull Elk turned mt KLR over trying to get in the tank bag for something ( it was empty ) so watch where you park. It's off hwy 276 it's the first right off I-40 or last left going toward I-40. We have Elk here at WindRock OHV Park.
  13. Sometimes you can use a small flexible magnet and fish it out. If you cant get to it just put in the new one and forget it, trust me it want be the first one done this way.
  14. You have to throw in hwy 209 aka "THE RATTLER" in there also. Then from Linville hwy 181 to 126 to Lake James. I avoid Gatlinburg and the Cove just not my thing.
  15. There is a 04 for sale here locally for $2500 OBO with less than 10,000 miles a 2000 model for $1500. I found a 2010 with 1200 miles for $4000 that I've looked at twice now but still haven't bought it.

  17. I have a little over 55,000 miles on mine it's a 2004 model still runs great. There is a couple of guys in our group with over 80,000 miles and no problems. It all on how they have been taken care of in my opinion. There is some deals out there if you look around been thinking about a newer one.
  18. Full Gauges and upgraded lighting including led's and just maybe radial tires.
  19. You are correct the 16" tire will NOT fit the 15" rim
  20. It is 30mph and heavily enforced by THP and county on bikes and cars. We rode it last Saturday 30th 15 enforcers on the way over and 12 on the way back sitting in various spots. 37+ years of riding across it, it's just the rode we use to get to North Carolina. If in the Maggie Valley area run hwy 209 from Lake Junaluska, North Carolina to Hot Springs North Carolina then double back to hwy 63 to Asheville. http://www.209therattler.com/
