  1. I have a set on my FJR but not enough miles to say I love or hate them yet somewhere in the 1,200 mile range. I have no complaints thus far, been in a couple lite rains without issue corner great in the dry. I'm curious how they will wear, I ride it really hard so I'm never fair when it comes to tread wear. I'm not sure what answers your looking for.
  2. A light year also for me and the wife only put 11,200 on the venture and 3,500 on the fjr to many things going on. We have a good start for 2016 though already got 600 miles in
  3. I run a spot/narrow beam on left side of bike and a flood/wide on the right.
  4. I also have the oil filter pliers, they also work just fine. Most of the time can get mine off by hand but if not the channel-locks or oil filter pliers with very little effort. I don't know anything about the K&P filter but have used the Oberg filters for years, it looks to be the same idea. If you don't want to clean the screen when changing the oil buy a couple spare screens then clean when you want.

  9. It would depend on price if I were needed a parts bike. You can find running bikes for not much more than he's asking. http://greenville.craigslist.org/mcy/3908248877.html
  10. Really can't tell how much damage but if just the oil filter mount why not weld it?
  11. There is some good prices on the bandit around my area. I sold the one I had and bought a Honda ST1300 a few years back I liked the Honda better. I've since sold it, sure miss it sometimes for quick errands with the factory hard bags.
  12. Agree 100% not much use of changing cams if not doing the rest of it. You may want to change the carbs. if you have the 28mm to the 32 mm to get the most out of it.

We rode it fall 2011 also. I don't think you will have any trouble if you can ride gravel. They close it when they want or so it seems you can always call ahead to see if open. http://www.nps.gov/grsm/planyourvisit/temproadclose.htm
  14. Parson Branch Rd. is the one that comes out on 129 aka dragon. If I get the time I will ride over and check it out Old Cades Cove rd this weekend I'm only a hour away.
  15. Air in the system contracts when cold, expands when warm/hot. Flush or bleed, I would bleed for now flush and change once I got it home.
  16. I second the headlight modulator idea, with the cooling fins etc.
  17. They have the 32 led for $29 and it's a lot brighter than stock ever was. http://www.customdynamics.com/Yamaha_tail_retro.htm
