  1. The electric company came today and fixed the conduit on the pole. This is the second time that they have fixed it within the last 2 months. They said that they didn't find anything wrong on the pole. I'm not sure if water may have gotten in the meter and caused a power surge due to moisture and they didn't want to admit it. The problem hasn't happened at all since I have been home. The main breaker is under the meter. There is also a main breaker in the house. I guess we will have to wait and see if it happens again. I checked all the wires in the breaker box and they all seem to be tight and grounded. None of them showed any signs of melting. I appreciate all the advice. The Venture Members always seem to be there when needed. I will try to post some pictures showing the meter on the pole.
  2. I talked to an electrician and he seems to think that it is on the electric pole on the main breaker. I live in a mobile home and the main breaker is on the pole with the meter. The conduit above the meter has come loss a couple of times and they fixed it but it keeps coming loss. The electrician seems to think moisture has gotten into it and corroided the breaker. So the electric company is suppose to come out tomorrow to check it. Hope this is it. If anyone can think of anything else that may be causing it just let me know and I'll check it out.
  3. I know this is not motorcycle related but maybe there is an electrician out there that can steer me in the right direction. Had a storm Saturday night and now when my central air tries to kick on it knocks power out on different things in the house. It doesn't kick any breakers and it doesn't do it every time. You can either wait a little while and it will cut back on (sometimes) or you can go to the thermostat and turn it off and then the power comes back on. Then you can turn your central air back on and it will work. The power that goes out is not on the same breaker. It affects about 3 or 4 different breakers. It affects the washer (breaker by itself), dishwasher (breaker by itself), bedroom and part of the living room ( on the same breaker), and the central air (breaker by itself). So does anyone have any ideas of what is going on? Do I need to call an electrician or a heat pump specialist? I have checked the wires on all the breakers to make sure they were tightened and they were. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Tim
  4. I figured I would post to this to get it moved up in the forum. Spring is now here so maybe we will get to have this meet before it gets cold again.
  5. I broke both of my bolts. I had to take the staples out of my cover, pull it back, and the bolts are molded into the seats. You have to cut into the molding with a knife where the bolt is. I took a punch and drove the bolt all the way out the part that I had cut with a knife. I put a longer bolt back in with a washer and put a nut on the other side of the molding. You can't get to long of a bolt because the seat won't go back on. Make sure you try it before you staple the seat cover back. I didn't take the cover completely off, just halfway. This raised my seat up a little because the bolt sits on top of the frame. You have to put another bolt on it in order to hold the seat to the frame. Hope this isn't to confusing.
  6. I ran across this on the internet. Has anyone ever used this or know anything about it? https://www.mymra.com/Roadside.htm?utm_source=motorcycle%2Bmonster%20events&utm_medium=banner&utm_campaign=roadside#roadside-information
  7. Thanks for all the great advice. I tore into it and used a whole can of air and a vaccuum cleaner. There was all kinds of dust. I got all the dust out and it has been working fine ever since. This website is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!:clap2:
  8. It only beeped once and I have a Dell computer. This morning when I turned it on it didn't beep at all and now it is working????????? I never have heard the fan running a lot since I bought it new. You usually only hear it when it gets dusty back there and I have to clean it.
  9. Thanks for the quick response. I was afraid that someone hacked into it.
  10. My other computer shut down and now when you try to turn it on it just says beeps and says Alert! previous shut down due to thermal event. Strike F1 to continue, F2 to run the setup utility. If you do F1 it shuts it back off. If you hit F2 it takes you to some wierd screen that tells about the computer. Does anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it?????

    speakers

Has anyone changed out the speakers on their bikes so that they can hear the rock music better? Country music you can understand but if you try to listen to anything else you can't understand it at high speed. It sounds like rap music when you are at the speed limit.
  12. I'm doin good. Glad to see that you got your bike running good. Did you go by the beach like area at Martins Fork or is it still there? It's getting time for the leaves to start turning. We are going to have to get together again and go riding. hairman:thumbsup:
  13. Thought you might get a laugh out of this. Hope the picture works this time.
  14. Sorry but the picture didn't show up. I'll try again.
  15. My rattle was coming from the trunk. One side was latching, but the other side wasn't. At a certain speed it would cause it to rattle. Hope this is helpful.

    plexus

I'm not for sure. I told the dealer that I needed some Plexus to clean my windshield and he said that it comes in 1, 2 & 3 in a bottle. He asked which one I needed and I told him that I needed the one that helped keep the dew off your windshield. I went on ebay before I went to the dealer and I saw that it was in a spray can, but he didn't offer that one at the dealer.

    plexus

Which kind of plexus do you use? Do you use the one in a spray can or the kind that is liquid and comes in a bottle labeled 1, 2, or 3? I went to my local yamaha shop and they didn't have it in stock so you had to order it and the only thing that they showed was in the liquid bottle. Thanks hairman
  19. Way to go randy!!! Glad to see that it was something simple after all.
  20. I rode my bike to work this morning. The fog was thick and about 3 or 4 inches up the center of the windshield the dew would not blow off. It was rolling off of it ever where else. I was running about 70 mph. Is there something to put on it so that it won't stay on the windshield? thanks tim
  21. Randy I just wanted to check and see if you have found the source of your problem yet?
  22. I just updated my profile. My number is now on here!!!!
  23. I just made it back home. This is my biggest fear with riding a motorcycle. Always afraid I will break down and not get any help. Where Randy broke down at used to be called bloody harlan. I believe if he would have had to leave his bike over night that it probably wouldn't have been there in the morning. I was glad to help out. Never know when you might need the favor returned. Venture Riders need to stick together and help each other out whenever possible. Hope you get your bike fixed soon. If you need any help I would be glad to do whatever I can. I know where you live now. Hairman
  24. I want to mount some fog lights on my rsv. I read a previous post about the platnum burners. When mounting them do I need to use a relay or an in line fuse? I haven't never messed with a relay so what size do I need if I need one? Can I hook my driving lights up on the same relay or not? If someone has better advice on fog lights please let me know. Thanks hairman

    randy

Randy did a great job yesterday.:happy65:It was a little bit chilly but we had the best time. The scenery, food, and the ride was great. I would love to do it again this fall if traffic is not bumper to bumper.
