  1. Fantastic! i have my Mustang in the shop now and can appreciate all the hard work that painter put into making it look smooth as glass. What a beautiful tribute.

  3. Sorry we missed this years but hope to make next.
  4. Well MJ44, you know what they say about hacks, the only people that ride one do so because they need one. I had one for 15 year and loved the old girl. It was a 1979 Yamaha XS1100 with full touring gear. A Pacifico fairing and lowers, KC removable side bags and trunk and a movable driver backrest. I pulled a 1985 Velorex 700 sidecar. My ex wife and i both road and got tired of looking foe babysitters to watch the kids for an impromptu ride. I picked up the bike foe $800 . and the side car for the same amount for a shop down on long island. Our kids rode with us everywhere after that.Kids grew up and started riding bikes of their own. I finally sold it three years ago.Now a musician owns it. he uses it to ride to gig's and carries his instruments in it. IT was a shame to miss the rally again (2nd year I missed) our God daughter came to live with us and we had just helped her find a new job but sadly she doesn't have a license yet. She had missed work when we were out of town last week and we felt it wasn't right to ask her to sacrifice any more time from work. We missed you all and we know we missed a good time with a great group of friends. We'll shoot for next year.
  5. One of my pet peevee's as a limo driver are people that slow down or hit their brakes but don't put on a turn indicator telling you which way they are turning UNTIL AFTER they have started the turn, making you have to slow all the way down because you don't know if they're turning left or right.
  6. we may be changing our plans as far as camping goes and may get into microtel. not sure on other two couples. My friend joe has had problems at work where he may not be able to attend.
  7. so sorry to hear about this. Another case of a cager not even looking in thier rear view mirrors. Hope she heals fast and is able to get back in the saddle next year. Our prayers and out to her. hope shes healing fast.
  8. a wave a nod or even two fingers raised on the handle bars. its all the same. but its a choice thing. Don't over think it.
  9. I bought my 85 because the bags resembled the FJR that i couldn't afford.
  10. Endubidubly! Cowpuc! and 87 is a first gen! or should we say the better, faster, prettier of the generations. Not that the second gens are bad...... they just aren't first Gen's that's all.
  11. Maybe Yamaha should make one to compete with the Slingshot and the Spyder.
  12. For a second GEN??? YES DEFINITELY! Now if it was a first gen it would still be a baby:stirthepot:
  13. Great Pics i was expecting to see the 3 cylinder engine??? i don't know why ? they didn't make those until 69 i think. Good looking old iron.

  18. I'm jealous wish i was going with you guys.
  19. pretty amazing and original. I knew a guy that used one of those as a trunk on his Shadow tourer. Um wouldn't a trailer have been more useful. LOL!
  20. Dan, so sorry to hear about this accident. Don't worry about the memory it will come back. And as others have said you will be spooked for a while, probably longer than you'll want to be. You can't let that panic you. go with it , ride it out it will go away. Years ago i was riding home from work around midnight, 4 lane separated HIGHWAY. A deer crossed the road. Another on the other side. I see him, he see's me. he doesn't move. I'm slowing down but only to about 50mph when he bolts across the far lane, he jumps the barrier and is front of me like that. I hit the brakes planning to swing out the back end broadside him and fall on top. Instead I just clip his back leg . But for weeks I was terrified I couldn't scan the road fast enough . I hated that feeling of fear, but I loved riding so much I wouldn't let it stop me. It was almost 6 weeks before my hyper vigilance finally subsided. remember the many years of good riding. You'll get there my friend. And a trike ain't a bad alternative. I rode a sidecar with my kids and loved it. There are a lot of alternatives now a days.
  21. Sure , spyder,harley Goldwing, valkyrie, shadow,Voyager,Fjr,Vmax,Beemer,Aprilia,Moto guzzi,Ducati,etc,etc,etc,Venture forum. I likes it.
  22. My uncles fathers sisters brothers cousins nephew says a venture what?
  23. If anymore members buy other make bikes we may just have to change the name of this place.
  24. Checked the radiator reservoir. it was a little low but no radiator leaks. puddle was gone. no more liquid under the bike. I have to check the battery yet It may be the stator over charging the battery. last year I had to stop on a day trip to fill low cells. Interesting side not. If ever you need to do a battery tending while the battery is in the bike. stop at a store and pick up some distilled water and a squeeze ketchup/mustard bottle. The empty kind with the pointed top. it makes a perfect way to refill a batteries cells with out pulling the battery or making a mess.
