  2. Frank: You spoke to me about the LED lights on my bike. They are Rigid Industries lights. Model Number 20221. They have a 10 degree spot beam. Here is the web page: http://www.rigidindustries.com/Dually-LED-Light-Spot-p/dually-sp.htm Shop around for the best price. They have gone up in price since I bought them. I paid $165/ pair but are in the range of $189+ now. I am very happy with the way they light up the road. The 10 degree pattern works well on the dark country roads that I run on. They can be adjusted to light up the sides of the road and still get a lot of light down the middle of the road. During the day I run with them on so I can be seen. I get comments all the time about how bright they are, even in the daylight.
  3. It's not a cross between paint thinner and embalming fluid.......IT IS paint thinner and embalming fluid mixed together!!!!! AND it's good!!!! That was the best part of the day, other than the music and all the friends that were there. (BTW, still haven't shaved the mustache, and the wife won't kiss me. ) What's up with that?????? Jim
  4. It’s time for a Meet & Eat in Rochester for the WNY gang and friends! Save the date………for a Meet & Eat at our home on Sept 14th (Saturday). We will have a relaxing day sitting by the pool (bring your swimsuit) to catch up with all of the news of your friends, followed by a picnic style meal about 5:00 PM, followed by a ride to the new DQ just down the street for Big Tom’s favorite flavor of ice cream. For those who want to come early on Friday night, we will have a campfire in the backyard to socialize and roast marshmallows. We have plenty of room in the house, if you want to crash on the family room floor or living room couch, and a large rear yard for tents and campers. Hotels are about 10 minutes away. PM me for hotels in the area. We are very easy to find, about 30 seconds off the I-390 expressway (if you make the light!) on the west side Rochester, NY. Your hosts....Jim and Sheila Crane 192 Summit Hill Drive Rochester, NY 14612 GPS coordinates: 43.256851,-77.653351 We hope to see you there!
  5. Well, since both holidays coincide, he will have to pack TWO lunches!
  6. I wouldn't be anywhere near a border crossing in NY on Labor Day weekend. But that is not a holiday in Ontario, so you might get lucky. In any case pack a lunch before you start out. Jim
  7. Wayne: Sorry to hear about the passing of your father. Our condolences to you and your family. A death of a family member is always a difficult time for the remaining family. Remember the good times and know that you will be reunited in the future with your loved ones. This we have been promised by our Creator. Jim
  8. Steve: Would it be cheaper to ship to me and then pick it up when you are down here? I have a M & E coming up in Sept. Jim

  12. Just a heads up. The Motion Pro must be calibrated each time you use it and it must be stored in an upright position or the fluid may run out. Can't lay it down in your toolbox.
  13. Yup....The boss has a Hardley and he even has a trailer to pull behind it to pick up all the pieces that fall off and someplace to store his rainsuit (besides on his muffler) when he is not wearing it.
  14. I have a Sealmate and it worked for me. Solved a leaking problem on one fork. Jim

  17. Take the headlight out and control module is on the left behind headlight. Check for corrosion in the plug. Don't have a photo of the module but I think the part number starts with 1NL..... Can't remember the rest of the number. Getting old and forgetful! Jim
  18. Due to a conflict in our schedule, I am going to change the Rochester M & E to Sept 14th. Please join us for a day of good food and good friends. Bring a swim suit and take a refreshing dip in the pool. Please go to the calendar to sign up and to the Meet & Eat thread for directions to our home. We hope to see you there! Rain date will be Sept 15th. Jim & Sheila Crane
  19. OK, thanks, Mike. I will see you there. His daughter is 11 years old and has been riding mini bikes for a couple of years now. She hasn't been on a public highway yet (at speed) but she has no problem handling the minibike on their farm. Jim
  20. Thanks, everyone for the information. I will pass along all these sites to my BIL. I have been on eBay and have found a few parts but he will need more as he gets farther into the project. I am now getting ready to head to Galena for the IR and will get into this restoration project when I return. Thanks for all the help and suggestions. Jim
  21. My brother-in-law has acquired a '79 Suzuki GS550E and is going to restore it to factory new condition for his daughter to ride. It only has 8000 miles on it but needs a few things. Where can we find a downloadable service manual and also a breakdown of parts with part numbers. He is not computer literate and is having trouble finding parts and part numbers. Also, is there a reputable chrome shop that can re-chrome parts. Thanks for the help. Jim
  22. Here is the part number for the ball stud from McMaster Carr. Check the specs on their catalog page, you may find one at an auto parts store. The "emergency fix" parts section (or whatever they are called)? Part number is 9512K73 .....5/16 Ball stud. http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/119/1197/=nrpkh7 Jim
