  1. If you notice that our member count dropped, it is because I decided it was time to prune the members list. We had about just over 3,000 registered members who not logged in for about 5 years. I figured it was time to clear them out of the list and make those usernames available for new members who might want to use them.
  2. Yes, the small can is what I put in. So 8 oz to a full tank.
  3. I use a full can twice a year. Once in the spring and I store it with a full can over the winter.
  4. WOW...that Boomer guy cleans up pretty well for a biker. Congrats you two. Great looking couple.

    My post

I apologize for taking so long to reply to this thread. We have company this weekend and I was up late last night and just checking the forum this morning. It was I who deleted the post. Sometimes I will send a message to the member but most of the time I do not. There was nothing vulgar about your post but I'm sure that you notice that we do have a classifieds area. If you had tried to post the mufflers in that correct area, you would have seen that only supporting members can post to the classifieds. The reason for that is that otherwise, we could get flooded with spam posts and other for sale items from people with no intention of actually participating in the group but just trying to sell things. There have been several times when people register here, realize that they can't post to the classifieds and so just post to the forums with things they want to sell. That sort of defeats the purpose of having the classified area restricted to members. Now I also want to say this. I did not make the decision to restrict the classifieds by myself. It was publicly discussed here and the members were the ones who felt that the classifieds should be open only to supporting members. There is some comfort in knowing that they are buying from a person who is part of the group and not just some stranger. So I am sorry that I took so long to respond and am sorry about any confusion that this caused but now you know. I also want to take this opportunity to welcome you again. We are glad you have joined us and I do hope that you can make it to Maintenance Day in Oberlin, OH. It is a great chance to meet many of the great folks here.
  6. TX2Sturgis jarred my memory. I stated that we stayed at Buffalo Chip. That is the OTHER large campground there. It was Glencoe that we stayed at though. Still large and a lot going on but a bit quieter than Buffalo Chip I've been told.
  7. If you don't like crowds, you are going to HATE it during bike week. I went during bike week in 2008. Had a great time and camped at Buffalo Chip camp ground. You will meet some nice people and some crazy people. I'm glad I made it one time during bike week but I would love to go again when it's not so crowded.
  8. I don't even know if spending the $250.00 would get the information that you need. For years folks have been asking how many RSVs are sold by Yamaha and I've never seen the answer found. I've been told that Yamaha does not release that information.
  9. OK...I found the thread that I was thinking about. If this is what you were preferring to. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=75624 and what I posted was: "Maybe I just missed it but I don't see where Ride On was mentioned. That seems to be the sealant that most here have used. I've never used any type of sealant in my tires but from the reports I've read here, it seems to be the product of choice and does not harm aluminum rims." So it looks like I was incorrect when I thought I had made a mistake and in fact was correct in that I had not stated that I had used it and then incorrect when I mentioned that I may have incorrectly stated that I had when in fact I had correctly stated that I had not so I was incorrect in thinking that I was indeed incorrect so the mistake that I made was...............oh heck.....what were we talking about?
  10. The confusion may have come from a recent thread discussing "Slime". I made the comment in that thread that most here prefer Ride On. I know that many here use it and from all reports, it is a great product. I have intended to try it for some time now but have just never done it. Now I could go back and find that thread to see if I misspoke. Could I have said that most of US here prefer Ride On? If so, I apologize.
  11. Just one clarification. I have never used Ride On or any other type of tire sealant or any type of internal balancing beads on my motorcycles. I'm neither discounting nor endorsing the benefits or lack thereof of either. I've heard the positives and negatives of both. I will say that if I WERE to use a sealant, from all reports that I've read here and elsewhere, it would be the Ride On. It is reportedly non-corrosive to rims and very easy to clean up.
  12. Yep, that's the one that I use. That bottle will last you for several changes.
  13. I use the Mobil One also.
  14. I would love to answer your question but to be honest, I just don't know. Haven't look at the two of them close enough to offer an answer. Sorry.
  15. No problem folks. It was my fault about not explaining it in advance. I didn't know they were going to take effect as quickly as they did. WHAT SPIDERS? Don't you be stirring up new problems now.
  16. You are a talented person my friend. It's really looking good. Much more than I would ever attempt.
  17. No, you can just sent it straight to him at pmelah@hotmail.com
  18. It seems that too many people have a problem with them so I got rid of them. Sorry about that. I didn't think it was a big deal because I see them all the time. Even big sites like Fox News and most other news sites have them.
  19. They should be gone now.
  20. OK...it is not Malware and does not hurt you in any way. Just a way to perhaps make a few bucks but I can see that many of you don't like it so I'll get rid of them now. Sorry about that.
  21. Yes folks. It's something new that I added. It is legit and is not a virus of any kind. If it bothers a lot of people, I'll get rid of it but basically what it does is watches for key words and if, for example, somebody posts an item that is available from a certain set of vendors such as Amazon, it will link that item to a place that you can purchase it. If somebody uses it and purchases an item, the site gets a small commission on it. I don't think it will amount to much but it was free to try so I decided to give it a shot.
  22. I've got a tool but unfortunately, no shim kit. I would be glad to loan out the tool though.
  23. Folks, I agree with everything that is being said about the affect of ozone on rubber and etc. but I am still convinced that Avon has, or had, a problem. Over the years, my bike has sat through the winter in the same exact place with no differences from year to year and my last set of Avons were the only ones that have ever cracked like that. I've had Dunlop and Michelins before and none of them cracked. I took a chance and replaced them with another set of Avons and so far, they seem to be doing OK. Haven't looked at them closely though. Will do so before the riding season starts. I really like the Avons but if this set cracks, it will be my last ones.
  24. I don't remember for sure but I'm thinking around 6500. I've raised mine with the Dyna 3000 but I think that is what it was.
  25. I have tried several times to duplicate this problem and just can't get it to happen. I've tried it with IE and IE 64bit. I've tried it with ISpell installed and with it not installed. I've tried spell checking and not spell checking. I've tried back spacing several times slowing, very fast and holding the back space key down and deleting my entire text. I even tried holding the computer upside down and under a running faucet and just can't duplicate this issue. I'll continue to pay attention to it and see if I can get it to happen.
