Just a reminder folks. Do NOT mention the word Raffle or anything like that if you use PayPal to purchase your tickets. Ebay considers that gambling and will shut down the PayPal account.

Forms have been updated so there is now a place for name and email.

Thanks to our great planning committee, the 2013 International Rally Forms are now available for download. You may download them from the first post of the International Rally Forum here. Both files are the same except that one is in Microsoft Word format and the other a PDF file for those who do not have Word. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=708348#post708348

Well maybe we need to talk to Big Tom and see if his shirt people have any interest. I'm really not interested in offering standard RSV, RSTD, etc. caps and products. Only VentureRider.org branded items. His vendor may be interested though if there is enough interest.

Freebird sees all but ignores some. Actually, we have a guy that does the hats for us. You can check the merchandise forum and send him a PM to see if he is interested in doing it.

Techron just made me a believer!!!!!!!!!!
Freebird replied to usedcyclesales's topic in Watering Hole
Well, my opinion is that none of these products are needed as a gas additive at every fill up. The gas today does leave something to be desired but if you are riding your bike enough to keep the gas fresh, today's has has plenty of additives, detergents, etc. to keep your fuel system clean. The problems occur when your bikes sits for a long enough time that the gas gets old. If that is the case, then some type of stabilizer will prevent most problems and you will not get to the point of needing to actually soak the carbs due to them being gummed up. My bike is now 14 years old. I have never used additives on a per tank basis. I have used various products when I knew the bike would be sitting, for example over the winter. I use one can to a full tank of gas before pretty much putting the bike away for the winter. I usually add one more can sometime in early spring or summer just to make sure anything that MAY have started gumming up is cleaned out and that is it. Two cans a year. Now for the past 5 years or so, the product that I've used has indeed been Seafoam and it has worked just fine. I am sure the Techron work OK too though. KNOCK ON WOOD...in 14 years, I've not needed any carb maintenance, have not had a float stick, etc. I did pull my carbs a couple of years ago to check and set the float levels and they looked great on the inside. -
If you are asking if that is a replacement for the RSV, then I would say no. It is a nice bike but certainly would not compete in the true touring market. Nice looking bike and a nice middle weight.

I've removed VentureRider from the list of clubs. Folks can join one of the other lists if they want to be we are not linked to it in any way.
-
No problem. Have fun.

If you want to create one from scratch, that is fine. If you want to do it quickly though, I have the software that makes it very easy. You simply select the pictures you wish to use, add whatever music you wish to add, choose the type of transition effects you want between slides and save. it.

OK folks...I have VentureRider removed from the list. I think it's a good idea but like some of you, I have some concerns about the privacy. Anybody can join the list. Now even though I have had VentureRider removed, that does NOT remove any of you who have already signed up. If you wish to stay, that is fine but if you want to be removed, you have to manually do it. 1: Log back in 2: Select 'My Account' 3: Select 'Remove me from list' 4: Save your updated account setting.

I don't want to do it either and I think that to be effective, it needs to be password protected for our members only. I think it may not be a good deal. I think at this time, I will recommend that you remove your name until I find out more about it.

Take a look and then post your comments. Would be a lot easier than trying to maintain the list as I now do. May be concerns that I'm missing though. What do you think? http://www.assistancelist.com

I feel honored to be able to help a friend. As for the occasional squabble around here, heck that happens in all families.

You have some type of Malware or something on your computer. There are no surveys or anything of that nature associated with this site.

I've watched this thread for many days now and have resisted saying anything HOPING that it would stop but I guess it's not going to. I have no problem with folks having differing opinions on this practice but WHY the need for all the name calling. If it is legal and you feel that you can do it safely and desire to do so, then do it. If you feel that it cannot be done safely then don't do it. There is no reason to call people who have a different opinion that you names though.

No you couldn't.

progressive rate vs. constant rate springs
Freebird replied to ragtop69gs's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have the Sonics and really like them. Had Progressives on a first gen but not on the RSV. -
This poll is to gauge the preference of the members attending the International Rally. The planners are doing a great job and putting this even together and have been working hard on putting together some fun and interesting rides. A question has come up that we would like your feedback on. How many miles do most of you like the daily rides to be? I will list some choices below. I know that a lot of folks travel a good distance to get to the rally and prefer to take shorter rides and simply do more visiting with the other members. Others like to RIDE RIDE RIDE...so your input is appreciated.

I've only purchased from them a couple of times and it was small items but I was 100% satisfied with them.
-
I wonder if it was boat.net. A lot of us have purchased from them in the past.
-
Geezzeee guys....I appreciate it but you are a week or so early. I refuse to be a year old until the proper time.
-
That would be easy enough to do but I've always resisted it. I have every intention of this site being around for many years but one just never knows. I may only have a day or two left on this world and not even know it.
-
Twisted my back a bit but it will be OK in a day or two. HA....she says that I'm one of a kind. Just don't know how she means that. Linoleum over wood sub floor but it DID leave a nice mark. It's certainly not coming back up. It never made it to the basement. It fell from second floor to first floor. Basement was next. The next move was into the trash bin that I rolled up to the front door.

Some assembly required. So it seemed simple enough. I have...er...had...a good old Sony 27" tube type TV. I was simply going to move it from the second floor to the basement. Lost my footing and sort of dropped it from the top of the landing. I tell you what...by the time it got to the bottom..I have NEVER seen anything break into so many different pieces. It was a thing to behold. I think with a little duct tape...some super glue...screws and staples...it would be as good as new. Well...actually the tube broke too but hey....what the heck.
