  1. I haven't seen tx2sturgis on here in a while. I just checked and see that he hasn't been here since the end of October. I sent him an email a while back but never got a response. Have any of you heard from him?
  2. I'm requesting your prayers for a newer member and one that has quickly become a good friend to both Eileen and myself. I won't mention his name at this time because I don't know if he would want me too. He has been diagnosed with cancer and is getting ready to start radiation, chemo and later surgery. They caught it fairly early we hope and hope for a successful treatment but he has some trying days ahead. Please keep him in your prayers.
  3. I doubt that a street address will be added. I think a lot of people would be uncomfortable having TOO much information listed. It is protected for "supporting members" only but things do get hacked on the Internet. The "city/state" is somewhat obsolete. It was added for another purpose at one time and has been basically replaced by the state flag mod. The only purpose it serves is to quickly show a members city/state when they make a post. Remove it and it will just show their city and the flag shows the state. In my opinion, the street address is not needed. I think that most people would appreciate a phone call before somebody just shows up at their door. As for expanding and adding a comment area, that becomes a problem if you folks want a list that can be printed and fits on a single width page. That is what I struggle with. As it is not, it will print out properly if you orient the printer to landscape mode. If it is any wider, it will not. Now it would be very easy for me to create a new profile field for such comments and not make them part of the members list. Then you could click on the username and go to their profile for further information. That information would not be available on the printed list but would be if you were online.
  4. The top items for me would be KuryAkyn offset highway pegs, riders backrest, passing lamps, saddlebag guard rails.
  5. That is a great idea and I would love to do it but ..... I don't think I can. Maybe somebody much smarter than me could. The only way I know to do it would be for me to manually edit everybody's username that is on the assistance list. Then I would have to manually do it everytime somebody signed up or got off. Just way too much. Even changing the balloon colors seems to be a no go.
  6. Not at this time Gary. I agree that it's needed and am looking for a way to do it.
  7. Try this link http://www.venturerider.org/forum/first-generation-venture-tech-talk/89779-official-yamaha-gen1-mechanic-training-videos-cool.html
  8. MySQL. You are surpassing my level of competence though. If I have any at all.
  9. My head hurts. Enough for now.
  10. I know. But they are.
  11. Yes, and only one phone number for cellular and one for home I guess. Heck, even that does strange things. Look at page two, Yammer Dan and RMar....their home phones break to the second line.
  12. Yes, and only one phone number for cellular and one for home I guess.
  13. Yea, I was looking at that too. Both fields are set up exactly the same and he has the information entered in the exact same way.
  14. I don't know. I haven't figured it out. Look at Cecdoo's. I edited his to see and as you will see, it doesn't break where I want it to.
  15. Yes it can. That is what I was doing before though and it takes a lot of time to do and the list is always changing so it was seldom truly up to date. It will be much better if we can do it this way and it will always be the latest list.
  16. Believe it or not, as much stuff as you had in yours, it was wrapping to the next line and actually working ok. I don't fully understand why. Mine is the same way. My email address wrapped to the next line. Some do and some don't. If I could figure that out, it would probably be OK.
  17. You folks are causing what I have left to just fall out. I'm trying very hard to get the VR Assistance list reduced to a width that will print on a single page in width. I just about had it so that it would do so in Landscape mode. So what you do do? You enter 2 or 3 telephone numbers per field, add more address information, notes to other users. I understand why but we have to try to keep it manageable enough to fit on a page. When you start adding all kinds of other information, it gets wider and wider. I'm going to reset the fields to limit the number of characters that can be typed into a field. Please edit your listings and choose the best numbers to use please.
  18. I've made some changes to the tagging system. I may have to play with it a bit more but let me know if it happens again so I can continue tweaking it.
  19. No I didn't. Don't know if I even can do that. Will look at it later. Right now the green just indicates people who are presently online.
  20. Yes, I'm trying to pare it down to make it fit on a single page if a member wants to print it. The information that has been removed from the members list is still available if you click on a members profile. Except that I combined Biography and Occupation so those who had a biography entered will have to write something new in the "Occupation/Biography" field of their profile. At this time, the best I've been able to do is if you print it in landscape mode it will fit on a single "Legal" sized page. That may be the best that I can do. Now I can easily click on one button and create an updated members list as a PDF file if somebody wants a single file to download to their phone or computer or to print out. The only remaining thing is to figure out a way to sort it by state/province to make it easier to find members in the area you are in.
  21. Pic size has been increased to 1024 x 768. To add photos, just click on VRGallery in the menu bar. Then click on "Upload Images" in the small menu bar of that page.
  22. Don't you think you've caused enough trouble? I don't know. I'll take a look at it over the next could of days.
  23. OK...we haven't had a land line for several years so I forget that some people still use them. I have added a new field for Home Phone and renamed the other one to Cellular Phone. There is also a field "cellular carrier". I'm not sure that's even relevant any longer. That was originally done because some carriers used to have plans where they didn't charge you minutes for a call to another customer with the same carrier. I'm not sure that anybody does that now. I know that my Verizon account is unlimited calls and texts regardless of who I'm calling. So, do we still need that "carrier" field?
  24. I really don't have a problem keeping both if that is what you folks want. I doubt that I'll update the Shoutbox to the pro version in that case but we can leave it as it is now.
  25. It does list the telephone number. I assume that a member will put the best number to reach them. Mine is my cell number.
