Believe it or not, as much stuff as you had in yours, it was wrapping to the next line and actually working ok. I don't fully understand why. Mine is the same way. My email address wrapped to the next line. Some do and some don't. If I could figure that out, it would probably be OK.

You folks are causing what I have left to just fall out. I'm trying very hard to get the VR Assistance list reduced to a width that will print on a single page in width. I just about had it so that it would do so in Landscape mode. So what you do do? You enter 2 or 3 telephone numbers per field, add more address information, notes to other users. I understand why but we have to try to keep it manageable enough to fit on a page. When you start adding all kinds of other information, it gets wider and wider. I'm going to reset the fields to limit the number of characters that can be typed into a field. Please edit your listings and choose the best numbers to use please.

I've made some changes to the tagging system. I may have to play with it a bit more but let me know if it happens again so I can continue tweaking it.

No I didn't. Don't know if I even can do that. Will look at it later. Right now the green just indicates people who are presently online.

Yes, I'm trying to pare it down to make it fit on a single page if a member wants to print it. The information that has been removed from the members list is still available if you click on a members profile. Except that I combined Biography and Occupation so those who had a biography entered will have to write something new in the "Occupation/Biography" field of their profile. At this time, the best I've been able to do is if you print it in landscape mode it will fit on a single "Legal" sized page. That may be the best that I can do. Now I can easily click on one button and create an updated members list as a PDF file if somebody wants a single file to download to their phone or computer or to print out. The only remaining thing is to figure out a way to sort it by state/province to make it easier to find members in the area you are in.

Pic size has been increased to 1024 x 768. To add photos, just click on VRGallery in the menu bar. Then click on "Upload Images" in the small menu bar of that page.

Don't you think you've caused enough trouble? I don't know. I'll take a look at it over the next could of days.

OK...we haven't had a land line for several years so I forget that some people still use them. I have added a new field for Home Phone and renamed the other one to Cellular Phone. There is also a field "cellular carrier". I'm not sure that's even relevant any longer. That was originally done because some carriers used to have plans where they didn't charge you minutes for a call to another customer with the same carrier. I'm not sure that anybody does that now. I know that my Verizon account is unlimited calls and texts regardless of who I'm calling. So, do we still need that "carrier" field?

I really don't have a problem keeping both if that is what you folks want. I doubt that I'll update the Shoutbox to the pro version in that case but we can leave it as it is now.

It does list the telephone number. I assume that a member will put the best number to reach them. Mine is my cell number.

Yep, that's what I did also.

We are in the process of rebuilding our VR Assistance List. If you can and are willing to offer assistance to a member who is riding through your area, please edit your profile to include that information. Simply click on "Settings" at the upper right of the page and then scroll down to "Edit Profile". Near the bottom you will find a place to select "yes or no" in regards to offering local assistance and then a place to select services that you may be able to offer. Cowpuc just mentioned in another thread another, and maybe easier, way to get to it. Click "forum actions" in the small menu at the top. Select edit profile. Scroll down and you'll see where to select your information.

I've added a link under "Community" that says "VR Assistance". If you click on that, it should give you a list of folks who select the "yes" option. Then if you scroll to the far right, it will show what services they offer. Only three on it right now.
-
Yes, I think I actually covered most of the services that you listed. I don't think that there is a way though to add that to the balloon on the map. What I can do is create a link that just brings up a members list of those who have selected "yes" for the assistance option.
-
OK...I've added the necessary fields to the profile. Members will need to go to their profiles and edit the two fields, Can offer Assistance (yes or no) and then Services offered.

Yea, that works and thanks for the tip. The problem is, I used to keep a printable assistance list online but after the site update, I never started doing it again and like I said, it was such a pain to do that I didn't update it very often. I just looked and realize now that even the fields in the User Profile that show what services a member offers is no longer there. I have some work to do. Will try to come up with a new and better solution in the near future.

The members list is the only place you can find it right now. The other list you are talking about is outdated. Members list is viewable by supporting members only so that is a fairly secure place to put it. I need to find an easier way to do a printable list. The old one was very labor intensive and I didn't keep it updated often enough.

We could do a Michigan Riders meet at my house in Ohio.

Yea, please don't assume there is privacy in chat. Sorry, it is a public "members" chat room and what happens in chat doesn't necessarily STAY in chat. Still, so far, the comments seem to favor the old chat room.

The system messages about most counts and etc. can be turned off. In fact, I will turn them off now. You are never really booted out. You just are idled after a few minutes of no activity to save system resources. As for what is said? It is there, you just can't see it. I can go back and look at the history at any time.

I would like for those of you who use the chat rooms to give me an evaluation of the two solutions that I have installed at this time. The old one is pretty slick and has some nice features but doesn't work from all devices. The new one isn't as slick but seems to work just as well and is easier to get into and out of I think. It will be your call. If you choose the new one called "Shoutbox" at the top of the page then I will update it to the pro version. That won't make it any slicker looking but will add a few features such as allowing you to detach and run it in a separate window, turn the notification sounds on or off, things like that. Like I said, it is your call. From a money stand point, it's not a big deal. I would have to pay for the pro version of the new one but I also pay a yearly hosting fee separately for the old one so for the short term at least, it's pretty much a wash. So lets hear it. What do you want? The other option is that I could keep both but not upgrade the new one to the pro version. Just leave it as it is. I really don't think that we need two chat rooms though.

I don't know if he will be at MD or not. I'll find out.

Shipped my Road Glide seat off to Rick Butler this morning. I have put some miles on it and was pleasantly surprised with it for a stock seat. I've done a Saddle Sore and a Bun Burner on it so I know that I can do a thousand mile day on it with no major problems. There is still room for improvement though so I figured that with the snow on the ground, it was a great time to let him work his magic.
