  1. Got the PM issue resolved. What I was working on though was the login problems that people were having. If you tried to login and had to click on "lost password" to reset it, it would not accept the login with the new password. The only place you could actually login was the upper right corner of the screen. It only took me three days to figure it out. I'm getting rusty.
  2. Thanks for clearing it up. Yea, there seems to be enough confusion but the entire thing has been a bit confusing. Don't beat yourself up over it.
  3. Try it again now.
  4. hmmm....nobody else has reported it. I just sent you a private message to test and it worked fine. If you have a different browser, try it just for a test.
  5. Looks great. I actually need to order a new one myself.
  6. No, and everything should be working.
  7. I'm doing some trouble shooting on the site. You will see a lot of features come and go for a little while.
  8. It all depends on your height but the stock height was perfect for me and this one is the same as stock. I can see over it with it all the way down or through it with it all the way up. It's perfect for me. I have another one coming that is the same as this one except lightly tinted and with the bottom blacked out as the stock shield is. It should be here in a couple of weeks. I really like this shield. I personally hated the medium shield that I used while I was waiting. Wind buffeting was bad. They told me yesterday to go ahead and spread the word, I think they are ready to take orders. I don't think anybody will be disappointed with it.
  9. Would be great to see them. The biggest problem that people have uploading pictures is that they are too large. They need to be resized to no larger than 1024 x 768.
  10. If you are comfortable with them they way they are, then you simply don't need them. I am tall but I ride in a very relaxed position. I ride with my feet extended out on the highway pegs and leaned back against the backrest. Even though I have long arms, it creates too much reach to the handlebars and I get a bad pain in my shoulders. I use the risers not so much to raise the bars but to bring them back towards me. No shoulder pain that way.
  11. Yes, I got the windshield. There is a post about it in the tech section.
  12. Congrats my friend. Sounds like a hectic but exiting new time in your life. I hope that things continue to go well and that you'll get caught up and can concentrate on simply enjoying life.
  13. RSV should b e 950-1050 according to the manual. I usually kept mine on the low side of that. Usually around 900-950. I just do it by ear. ut there are inexpensive hand held tachometers if you need one,.
  14. Got this email from a former member. I have no idea what he might have. As a former member of your organization, I have come across several items that some of your members might be interested in. I didn't renew my membership a couple of years ago since I sold my RSV and VMax and purchased a 2018 Harley Ultra. Anyway, I don't know if your rules have changed regarding outsiders posting for sale items on your website. To make a long story short, I ran into a friend who owns a shop that specializes in leather clothing and he got ahold of some Rsv parts that are still in the boxes. I'm at this moment unsure as to whether they are actually new or takeoffs. But if someone might be interested, I'd be more than happy to find out more about the parts. If interested, my email is jon53es@gmail.com.
  15. Yes, the seat height is approximately 2" lower. I'm tall, about a 34 - 35" inseam so I was OK with the taller RSV but the 2" lower is not a problem. With the ROX risers and the Utopia riders backrest, this bike is extremely comfortable. I have long arms so you wouldn't think that I would need the risers but every bike I have owned require handlebars with more pullback or risers. I think it's because of the way that I ride. I like may feet out on the highway pegs and I lean back against the backrest. Without getting the bars further back, I get bad pain in may shoulders. I put the Flanders bars on my RSV but this one was easy to remedy with the ROX risers. Took about 15 minutes rot install them with no modifications art all to any cables. On a ride last Sunday with a RSV rider, we swapped bikes for a few minutes. The RSV felt so much different already. I feel that I sit more "IN" the SVTC as opposed to "ON" the RSV. The RSV also felt, I don't know, smaller then the SVTC. Not saying that the RSV felt back, it is a very comfortable bike, just felt different already after even the few miles that I've put on the SVTC. The hardest thing to get used to is the rev limiter in 1st, 2nd, and to a lesser extent, even 3rd gear. You are supposed to keep the RPMs down for the first 1000 miles of break-in. You have to pay attestinon to do that. One I finally got past the 1,000, it became even more clear as to howe quick to would hit redline. It has a lot of torque and plenty of get up and go even with the rev limiter but you just have to get used to quick shifting gears 1-3. Rev limiter comes in a 70 MPH in 3rd gear. 90 MPH in 4th gear. Haven't tried 5th but based on the other gears, I would suspect that you would hit it at around 110 in 5th and likely not ever hit it is 6th. Shop carefully, a lot of people payed MRSP or very close to it. There are, or at least were, some 2018 SVTCs on the market for just under $20,000.
  16. The SVTC has a power adustable windshield. I like the MadStad shields but wasn't sure how much I would like it on this bike. It seems top be placed outside the trim even when you adjust it down. The shield I got is the same height as stock, I'm sure they will have two or three different heights available. That being said, this one is the stock height which is about perfect for me. I can see over it when it is down or look through it when it is all the way up. I personally prefer looking through it when the weather is nice so it's perfect for me. I am supposed to evaluate this one and get back to them about any changes to the final design. So far, I see nothing that I would change. Just want it in medium or light tint and the black on the bottom. Actually I could live without the black on the bottom but it would look better.
  17. It is in the tech library.
  18. Received the Prototype Clearview shield today. NOTE: This is only a prototype. It does not have the black on the bottom and this one is clear. It will have the black on the bottom and will be available in different tints. Installed it soon after receiving it and just got back from a short ride. My initial impression is that it is top quality as I've found all Clearview shields to be. It is approximately two inches wider per side, 4" overall, than the stock shield. It does block about 1" of the mirrors but that doesn't bother me at all. Wind buffeting is greatly improved to the point of almost none at all. It does have the recurve at the top which probably helps in that regard. The width, I think, makes a huge difference. I think that with the blackened out bottom and the light or medium tint, this is going to be a fantastic shield.
  19. Definitely wind buffeting. Looks like he has a lower windshield, maybe the medium, or has it down all the way. My bike has very little buffeting with the stock shield. I sent it off to Clearview to be used for a pattern and have a "medium" on it now. The wind beats me to death with the medium. The prototype from Clearview arrived today as well as my stock shield so I will be changing it later today and see how the Clearview does.
  20. Threads from trial members don't get deleted when their trial membership expires.
  21. Finally got around to looking for it and the site glass does appear to be available from Yamaha. Item 34 in this list. https://www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts/2012-yamaha-royal-star-venture-s-xvz13tfsbb-crankcase/o/m154369sch747994
  22. I don't but would looking at the exploded parts view help? https://www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts/2006-yamaha-royal-star-tour-deluxe-xvz13ctv/o/m145224#sch527943
  23. Nothing monumental but did get a couple of fair rides in last week. After owning the '18 for about 10 or so months, I finally got past the 1,000 mile break-in period. That's pathetic I know but it is what it is. Went for about a 150 mile ride on Friday. Finally hit the 1000 mile mark on my way home. Until them, I had been following Yamaha's instructions in keeping it under the recommended RPMS and etc. It felt good to finally be able to wind it out a bit and put it through some paces. Yesterday, I went for a ride down to Amish county with Eric Drake, Drake44135 , Some of you probably remember his from Maintenance Day this year. He was the guy that joined the night before and stopped by. It was a good day. We rode safely but fairly aggressive a few times in some of the curves that we found. Eric was leading on his second gen as he had put the route into his GPS. We probably only rode maybe 175 miles. Some observations about the 3rd gen. I wish the rev limiter was about 1,000 higher. I've pretty much gotten used to it and the bike has no problem staying with the 2nd gen but I just feel that it could rev higher and be OK. If you don't pay attention, you will hit it quickly in 1st - 3rd gears. You will actually hit the limiter at 70 MPH in 3rd and at 90 MPH in 4th. Didn't get to see about 5th and doubt you would hit it in 6th at all. Still, it has so much torque that even having to shift quickly, it will keep up just fine. Just have to get used to it. Wish it had a bit more lean angle. I seemed to drag my boards easier than I did on the second gen. Didn't feel that I was riding that aggressive at all but still drug them a couple of times. Stability is fantastic. It lays into the curves very easily. Brakes, in my option, are great. Some people complain about the seat but to be honest, I find it much better than most any stock seat I've ever had. I doubt I'll be changing it. In fact, there is very little that I would change about this bike other than what I have already done. I've added highway pegs, risers, backrest. Also some things like trunk rack, hitch, bag top guards, etc. but that's about it. We swapped bikes for a few minutes and I was amazed at how different it felt to get back on a second gen. I felt that I was sitting more on the second gen and "IN" the 3rd gen. The second gen also felt a bit smaller after riding the 3rd gen for a while. Both great bikes in my opinion and I still love the 2nd gen also but at this point, I think that I prefer the '18 in regards to comfort. I know that there are still those, and always will be, that just can't fathom going to a air cooled V-Twin and I get that. For those who can though, the 3rd gen is certainly worth consideration. After riding it for a few minutes, Eric commented that it would certainly be his next bike.
  24. OK...the first thing is to make sure that your headsets are selected. You can select both external speaker and headsets. Here is how you do it. First, click on the "Music" icon from your screen. Next, click on the "Settings" button. Next, click on the down arrow to get to the next page. Now click on the "Audio Output: button. Last, select the output for sources that you wish to hear through the headset and/or speakers. Notice that your have selections for from and rear headsets as well as external speakers.
  25. A lot of us have them, or had them, wired that way. Just open the fairing and change where the wire is connected.
