  1. Sorry folks. Due to this Covid-19 issue and the fact that Ohio is still shut down for the most part, we have decided to cancel this event at this time. The restaurants and etc. will likely be open again by the date but there will be serious social distancing rules and etc. still in place. We may try to schedule something later in the year. Will let you know if and when that happens.
  2. Actually, the Royal Star Venture already has 32mm carbs. He is talking about the Royal Star. A few people have updated the carbs to 32mm but out required some work. I believe that Starfan had a manifold made to allow him to out 32mm carbs on a Royal Star. The limiting factor is then there air flow. The Royal Star had a small air filter and it requires a different air intake system to utilize the larger carbs. I think that Barons used to sell a "Big Air Kit" for that purpose.
  3. Here is a how to on installing the splitter. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?3905-Installing-an-Aux-line-splitter
  4. I assume, since you are using a pump, that you are riding a RSV. That being the case, you will have to experiment a bit to decide what works best for you. It depends upon several factors like your weight, passengers weight, etc. I found that 30 - 35 lbs. was a good number that worked whether I was riding alone or with a passenger. When pulling a trailer, I upped it to around 40 lbs.
  5. I'm almost sure that the mounting is different.
  6. My search came up with as few of them but mostly for wheel chair users. I didn't find any that were enclosed though.
  7. I had a Corvair in the summer of '73. I had bought a new Chevelle SS 454 and didn't want to drive it to the construction site where I was working so found an old Corvair for $200.00 that I bought for a work car. I had the same problem you did with the blowby. A older guy that I worked with told me to let him drive it home and he would fix it that night. I did that. He brought it back the next day and had added a rubber hose to the dip stick tube and rani it to a one gallon oil can turned on it's side. He ran another tube from the oil can to the hole where you put oil in it. So the oil blew into the can and ran back into the engine. I laughed like heck but hey, it worked and I drove it that was from about a year. . Never had any problems with it and sold it the same way. It was just a base Corvair though with a three speed on the floor.
  8. Fantastic. Would love to own that place.
  9. OK folks. This thread continues to be purely political. Some of you cry about freedom of speech but this is a private club and there are rules that are in place to prevent the splintering of the group due to political discussion. You can like it or not like it but the rules are clearly stated and anytime somebody joins, there is a thread that must be read before you can continue. It clearly states that political discussion is not allowed on this site. I created this forum primarily for motorcycle discussion. I have stated this many times over the years. This site was created to discussion our common interest in motorcycles, NOT to discuss politics. It was created to bring people together, not tear them apart. It was NOT just my decision. It was voted on by the membership at least twice and the consensus was overwhelmingly to prohibit political discussion. There are members here who take great exception to some of the opinions expressd but respect the rules, bite their tongues, and move on. I have let this go on for far too long. This thread is being shutdown and will be deleted once people have had time to read this message. There are hundreds if not thousands of places on the Internet to discuss politics. This is not one of those places. I sincerely hope that you all understand this and choose to remain a part of our group gut if feel strongly that your freedom of speech is being impeded upon, then you need to leave. You will be missed and I am sorry you feel that way but the rules are and always have been very clear. I hope that you can find a place that is more in line with your beliefs. If other threads are started to replace this one, they will be deleted immediately or at least as soon as I see them.
  10. No problem here. I almost did it a couple of days ago. Probably will if you don't.
  11. What started out as a discussion about Covid-19 has sunk to discussion about abortion and other topics. If it continues, this thread WILL be deleted. It should have already been but I've tried to be patient. That patience is wearing thin.
  12. Make sure that the rubber boots on top of the carbs are have not slipped up on one or more of the carbs. That will cause exactly what you describe. I found that over tightening them would cause them to slide up and then it would suck air there.
  13. Folks, I know that there are some who don't like the rule but it is the rule. This is purely political and you know full well it is not allowed here.
  14. I have re-uploaded the picture.
  15. Prayers with you my friend. I had hoped that we would all be spared from this and that is still my hope. Don't be the first.
  16. Yes, the same ones used on the RSV work great on the new Venture. I ended up buying some knock off KuryAkyn style off Ebay. I wanted black one and KuryAkyn didn't have them in our size. They worked fine but didn't tight up quiet enough and would slip just a bit. I drilled one hole in each side and used a set screw to solve the problem.
  17. Things are quiet around here. After finally somewhat getting over the pneumonia, I'm somewhat back to normal. Still not 100%. Get winded quicker than I used to and tire out quicker. I installed a stairlift on Thursday and had a service call on Friday and another today. Have another sales call this afternoon about an hour away. Even the driving wears me down. This is a follow up call to finalize a couple of details and I'll probably install it on Monday or Tuesday. Things are pretty slow though. Not getting many calls. My business is exempt, "essential" I suppose, but the phone isn't ringing much. Probably for the best until I really start feeling better.
  18. They can be tough to remove after being on for several years. You just have to keep at it. Move them up and down and then side to side and they will eventually loosen up enough to pull off.
  19. Thanks folks. Sorry that I haven't replied lately. I am doing much better. Pretty much took the week off except for some work in the shop yesterday. Feeling pretty good. A little weak and still not breathing as well as I did but not bad. I'm going to be fine. Thanks for all the good wishes and prayers.
  20. Prayers said may friend.
  21. Finally got the results of my Cornovirus test. Negative. It's all good as I suspected. Now I just have to kick this pneumonia.
  22. That video sure brings back some memories. I remember when I was 15 years old putting many many miles on my CL350. Makes me want to go out and buy another one, or possibly the CL450 which I have never owned, and do a cross country trip on it. One last HURRAH if you will. I would give it some serious thought but would love some company. I actually bought another one a few years ago but it sure felt small after riding the bigger bikes for a lot of years. Bought this one and had it shipped here from Minnesota. Was as good as it looks in the pictures but ended up flipping it.
  23. Thank you Peggy for posting it and thank you all for the prayers. I'll be OK. I haven't felt good for almost a week. Eileen has pushed me to go to the doctor but you all know how stubborn I can be. I've been extremely busy the past few weeks and just didn't feel that I was sick enough or had time to take off. I installed a stairlift on Monday, went home and went to bed. Installed on on Tuesday, went home and went to bed. Had a couple of service calls on Wednesday and another install on Thursday. I got in the habit of dragging myself out of bed, getting things loaded up and getting to the install sites and getting them done. Then boing. back home and sleeping until starting over the next day. If I pushed myself and stayed busy, I actually felt better. Had a couple of sales calls on Friday and then Eileen finally put her foot down and demanded that I go to he doctor on Friday evening. He said that I likely had an upper respiratory infection and gave me an antibiotic. Saturday, I got worse. I finally woke up around 3:30 in the afternoon and Eileen had my clothes ready and told me that we were going to the emergency room. She said that she felt like she was watching me die. So I, reluctantly, headed to the emergency room. Of course one of the standard questions you are asked around here is "Do you feel safe at home". I told him yes, I felt I could take her but wasn't so sure today. Anyway, They did some blood tests and a chest X-ray and it was determined that I have double pneumonia. Thery put me on two different antibiotics and did a breathing treatment. Suggested I stay in the hospital but then made the mistake of saying that I could go home if I agree to follow instructions. Of course I went home. Just so you know, they also tested me for the cornovirus so I am self quarantined for the next 24 hours or until I get the results back which should be sooner than that. They said that my chance of testing positive is only about 15% but I needed to be tested. So there is that. Otherwise, I'm doing pretty good. Have to get better soon because I have another stairlift to install on Tuesday morning. I'm betting I'll. be ready. .
  24. Ohio cancelled all K - 12 schools for the next three weeks. At least some colleges have closed also.
