  1. I don't think he is even attempting to agree with you, he is just being what he is best,,,, A Canadian :canada:!!!!trying to make you feel good
  2. Although they go by the same name, 1st and 2nd gens are completely different bikes, not that is a bad thing, but there is a difference.
  3. Keep looking, there is a screw at the back by the seat, then 2 under the fairing (have to remove the rad cover to see them) then there are 2 up front, one one the chin scoop under the headlight and one directly under the faring in a depressed tower. I think that's it. If it still holds on there has to be more
  4. I hear there is a big feast planned for the future, food like you've never tasted before!!! you weren't thinking of that meal were ya?
  5. I know that Bob is quite alright with what the Great Shepherd has or will decide for him and Becky, although if Bob had his way he would not leave this present world before Becky. I will speak to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, maybe he will see it Bob's way.
  6. What you talking about here bro,,, My benefit??? you should be led to understand that none of this competition has anything to do with me,,, I see it as all for the audience,,, you know,,, The People!!!! Political,,,, my foot!!!
  7. Now if you think about that statement, you'll come to realize that the happening was a Canadian show of love and respect for our neighbors. The Canadians must have got together, realized how under powered their dear friends were and sent one of their best to help them out, even though it might mean a loss on their side. I would say that the Canadian character really shone out and so in that respect could be seen by some, if not most, the ultimate winners. Times change though and if you really, really want to do this thing on your own, we can see if we can find other ways to help you out.
  8. No Problem there Big Boy,,, the Canadians have 2nd place all sewed up, just because we let the home team be #1 . Watch out though, you will have to make it look like you made an effort, otherwise we will beat you,,, we can only go SOOOO slow!!! :canada:
  9. Not too often that I've heard of a throttle cable breaking, if at all. My mind goes to the reason why, and the thought is that sometime in the past that lower cable might have been routed wrong at the carb. There is a nylon spacer on the linkage rod, right in the good position to indicate to the uninformed that it should be a bearing for the cable to ride on. News Flash!! It is not there for that purpose, it is a spacer only and the cable should not ride on it, fact is the cable needs to go under it, on the carb side, not on the outside. This may have caused wear on the cable,, maybe,,, just a thought.
  10. Thanks for posting Wayne, prayers will be sent for his family and friends.
  11. Well I suppose that there maybe somebody who would like to know how this all turned out. The mufflers, yep! not one but two, made it home just fine, and now one of them noise reducers are mounted and tasked to the job. Looks not too bad actually, even kind of pretty somewhat. Now about the sound,,,,, it's good, really nice and good! It's not sparkie, not obnoxious, not quiet or loud, doesn't rumble and is not intense, just has a low sound of a perfectly tuned engine, mounted by a happy rider. Thanks Gary
  12. Now that you're back I noticed that I've missed ya. Good to hear from you again. Glad you are enjoying life. Carry On Mcduff!!
  13. I think you might be well advised to review your request. There would be water on 3 sides of your abode and you on the inside,, but my mind wanders
  14. Sometimes I love old threads,, and then there are times I wish old threads were regarded as just that!!! old and out of date and mind!
  15. My opinion: It's not the mistakes one makes, but, what one does about them that counts.
  16. The one coming from the center of the box can be a real pain. You could use good light from both sides from the front of the engine, long wide screwdrivers and or long handle needle nose pliers. Install the hose on the airbox first, then drop it ever so slowly into the right location, which needs to be determined ahead of time. Watch and guidance is the word here. Best to use two hands and two eyes, each coming from a different human. If you get the routing right, the bottom slips on easy enough, get it not quite right and you struggle. I have got that little sucker on in 1 minute, and the next time it would take 1/2hour. Routing is the key I think!
  17. Hey Don,,, we were going to go this week, but not now anymore. Things have changed a bit since this morning and we no longer need to go,,,, seeing as the pipes are here at home, nice and cuddled away,,, they had their first ever Spyder ride today, and got well indoctrinated. Twisty and turnies, fast and slow, rain and dry,, yep a full fledged experience for them. They must have enjoyed it, because after the first shock of real riding and trying to get off, they stayed perfected put for the rest of the way to Burlington and then back to their new home. Maybe next time.
  18. Welcome to Canada: The Hatfields https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/zuVsHt3rBnc?rel=0
  19. I have tried to resolder that connector a number of times, sometimes it just doesn't work to re-flow the solder, you actually have to desolder and then apply new solder. That might help ya.
