Thanks for that Puc. We have decided to sell the engine separate and let PCW handle the sale,,, at least for now. I am waiting for them to get me the low down on it to post it.

Cruise Control turning off at every bump
Marcarl replied to BratmanXj's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Never had a 2nd gen apart for that issue, but the principle would be the same. Take the handles off, clean them, lube them, and then re-install and check for play. If there is play, drill them out and make a new bushing for each. Chances are that the handle has worn and not the pin. Check the pin as well, and if its worn, get a new one first, it might solve your problem. -

As most if not all of you know, BongoBobny passed on to glory a couple of weeks ago. He had great plans for his 1984 Blonde, called Blondie. He had procured an engine and sent it out for an upgrade (when I get the specs I will post it as well). At present Blondie is hurtin and is all in pieces mostly, so we are looking for a good home with tender loving care that would like to use her for a rebuild or parts. Becky says sell it, hopefully to a fellow VentureRider. Blondie comes with a host of usable parts that we have no idea of what would consist of. In order to figure that out we would need to pull the whole garage apart to do an inventory, so this will be a surprise package. Are you interested, then send me a email. Highest bidder will have a leading edge. Let's talk!! Sorry, no pictures as it would be nearly impossible to get a good look. It's a small garage with a large garage supply of tools etc. Carl (MarCarl) c.norg@yahoo.ca

Don't know that I ever met Fred, but for sure I did know about him. For me it brings more reality, that someday that will be my lot as well, to leave this earth and join those who have gone before. Gonna take a little getting used to, to face that venture, kind of scary in a way, but then also a blessing to know that on the other side there will be no more tears and associated hurts and pains. Praying for comfort and peace that only comes from above.

Ummmmm,,, so how was lunch?? -
Going back to Puc dialogue, that is why I suggested to snug the bearings on the tight side, ride it and notice if the bike self corrects, (it shouldn't and you'll not go far to discover that) then loosen the bearings slightly, a 1/16 turn can make all the difference, repeat and repeat until self correction is back, even at higher speeds, then maybe a 1/16 loosen and Jerry's your uncle.

You must be getting old,,,,, backing down from a challenge!!

Oh sure,,,,, just when I had an answer at the ready. Good for you,, now don't forget to come,,, it should be a hoot!!! -
Don't know of anybody around that out paces you in that category,,, but if it;s a contest you want, check with Saddlebum,, he always wants to be #1 .

I was stinking about,,,aahhhh,,, thinking about you today and was going to suggest that you join us. Let's pray that you'll be good enough to join us.

I had the privilege to enjoy lunch with his pastor. I remarked to him that I was totally impressed how his part of the service was not so Bob focused as it was how his Lord and Savior worked through him and how he allowed that to happen. A true witness as to how Bob would have wanted the funeral to be. The words 'may he rest in peace' may be superseded with 'I am now waiting impatiently for you to join me.' Let us look forward to that time and plan the route to get there. Becky,,,, glad you have the Comforter by your side, lean on Him, and don't be afraid to ask for more from us, you will be in our prayers for sometime yet.

I replaced the bearings on my 85 when it pulled that stunt while passing an 18 wheeler. It was a picnic though to set the torque right and proper. In my case my first attempt ended up being too tight and I found that the bike would not self-correct, so I loosened the bearings until the self-correcting came back into play and left things there. I was then a happy camper.

Why did you bring this up already?? you should be aware that it tends to snow here that time of year and I ain't finished with summer just yet,,, and if I go back to snow plowing, I might not be able to attend,,,, and do they serve ice-cream??
-
Just a thought: He's getting older and might not be riding 2 wheels for long,,,, he needs to face the inevitable!!!! Maybe save some money and go for a trike instead,,, or better yet, a Spyder,,, not because I own one, but it's just a good way to go and he can ride that much longer than a 2 wheel,,, and he's still young enough to adjust to it.

I will be putting the finishing touches on the route in the next couple of days, and then will pass on the info.

Guess seeing as I have to lead this mess, I'll be the first one at the site and that would put me closest to the cottage, and just because I know all you old farts will be tired from the ride and will want accommodations close to your scoot, I will walk the distance to the cottage and use the extra bed in the cottage, meantime, I can keep an eye on the regular occupant and keep him from sneaking around, maybe!

Pioneer closing down???? that will be the day!!!!! Those people are away too much community minded for that to happen. They are fully supportive of the folks that come for help from their business, and those type of businesses stick around. Nooo,, instead they are expanding and creating a wedding venue at the Earls site, so that will disrupt that whole area and will be making a major change in what can and will happen on that acreage. They dis offer to let us use the lot beside their shop, but we all knew that wasn't going to works so well, but being who they are, they didn't want to leave us hanging. Great people those folks, great people!!!! Instead Big Tom had an offer to discuss the possibility of using Niagara Shores, we checked it out and decided that location would suit very nicely. Get yourself booked in, I think you'll be happy you did.

Made it home safe and sound, even though I had this Bum following me practically the whole time. I did buy him off by getting him same ice-cream I think and arrived at home with my Honey waiting out in the yard to see me. She said I had been gone tooo long so next time she going to come and keep an eye on me. Don't know why,,,,, who's been talking I wonder. Loved you guys all and then some, what a great time. Many thanks to Tom, and Tom and Amy, and that Robin girl with her side kick Bob, and then also Spanky, and Mr. Ken. You guys rock and have put on 12 great years of rallies. Hopefully this will continue and that we get to see each other again, again and again.................... Hopefully you will not be shy about passing out info to guide us into the unknown.
